I agree with you. I think it was very unfortunate and the outcomes are not likely to be what the Brexiteers promised. I just think it is best to try to understand people's reasoning.
And about a month ago the IMF, no less, admitted that the 'austerity' packages that they have been forcing on developing countries for years, and which now predominate in Europe have a very negative impact on the economy.
This is an astonishing admission, if you know the IMF and its history. because the alternative to austerity is redistribution. So all of a sudden, the tax avoidance schemers really do look much more culpable than the 'slackers', 'scroungers' and whatever other derogatory and pejorative terms are applied to the working and non-working poor.
Highly unlikely. Planning has always been a mess in this country and has always been domestic.

Depends on your definition of "real life" really. Just because someone who went to university finds themselves working in the design office of an Architect in Bristol designing buildings and interacting with high levels of business doesn't mean their life is any less real than the person who work left school at sixteen and works on the Nissan UK manufacturing line in Sunderland. Both are real life. Just different experiences of real life.My Granddad once said that those that make it to Uni become less engaged with real life, how true that is.
Yes, and...@Diabetic_Aspie:
I totally disagree with the premise of your assertion that;
"Any coffee shop etc would hire ANY girl over ANY boy. I don't think that has anything to do with your son's skin colour. It's just how it works, imho."
If I were the coffee shop manager and many sole traders I know would simply employ based in meritocracy, not gender or race or sexual orientation, age or any other discriminatory criteria....
This includes, but is not limited to, who presents the best, is the most motivated, can engage a customer with warmth, will turn up on time, work hard, displaying respect to customers and colleagues alike etc... This could be a female or male, any race, age etc.

I think this may be a good move for education, personally I think that the one size fits all has never worked in the best interests for the UK, I never went to Uni and to be honest I have never wanted to do so, My Granddad once said that those that make it to Uni become less engaged with real life, how true that is.
If I had my way I would have a period of say three years for every student at the age of fifteen / sixteen to do some sort of community/ technical training before going on to Uni, education should be something which we should all beable to do through out all our lives and not to be stopped when you get to 23 as is the current system
