I'm here too. But I haven't anything interesting to say! ;)
I’m here as well, nothing much going on, just trying to get through January, this weather is so depressing.Bulbs are coming up in the garden though and our resident blackbird has arrived back so better times coming!
Hope those with health issues are ok. Steve should have gone down the water slide with you @Antje77 might have killed off the flu bug :) Hope you get to grips with what you can eat @Annb balancing minerals is such a tricky thing.
Marmite almonds sound like an excellent idea @MrsA2 hadn’t thought of making them, little project for this week I think.

It would help if all the nutrition websites would agree on what foods are high or low in potassium.

We are still 2, but were 3 until son moved out a year ago. I use my freezers a lot! Really they are too big for us now but I still can't bring myself to down size to one. It's normal now to make a meal for 4 and freeze 2 individual portions. Or I do dishes that can be turned into something else, eg mince will be mince one day, bolognaise the next and chilli the third. Most food keeps for longer in a fridge so you don't need to eat the same meal 2 days running

In the freezer clear labelling and dating helps avoid too much disappearing to the bottom.
I find freezing useful for bread, hubby can take just a slice or 2 at a time, ditto any baked goods. I also have a lot of raspberries and currants growing in the garden so freeze those by spreading them out on trays first so they freeze individually then its easy just to use a few at a time.

I suppose I can't get out of the habit of buying larger packs for budgeting, then I freeze them in individual wrapped portions, chops, steaks even sausages. My family jokes we'd be self sufficient for at least 2 weeks from the freezers. (Don't tell them but its probably longer ;) )

I hope that if I'm ever cooking for just one that I still do this as I hate to pay over the odds. And the simple low carb meal of protein, 1 or 2 vegs is easy to put together.
But I do know most of my single friends say they find cooking for one a faff and a bother .

Cwc to fuel an early walk.
11:00 2 hard boiled eggs with tuna and mayo. Ff greek with seeds and chopped almonds and chocolate.

3 hours dancing! Had a few marmite nuts to snack on.

D: a rump steak, sprouts and buttered leeks. A cc chocolate pot and a low carb coconut macaroon from a pack given to me as a Christmas present. All natural ingredients but included maple syrup for 4g carbs per one. Nice though, I'd have them again. Company is called Nourish.

Breakfast was bacon with low carb crispbread. Early today because I was very hungry.

There is likely to be a 2nd meal today which will be a Mediterranean veg stew of some sort, maybe with some chick pea pasta. It is called chickpea rice, but really is just a kind of pasta.

I eat a fair amount of RyVita but have just discovered it is very high in potassium so will have to cut back on that - hence the low carb crispbread. Just ordered more of that from Amazon.

Morning all. Back to normal.... Monday Lunch club! As usual, no idea what it will be but will confess tomorrow. @Annb, perhaps a silly question but have youlooked up the potassium in your lc crispbreads? Have a nice day all. :)
I've tried but can't get any information on it. The crispbread I'm using is Amisa Lentil based crispbread and nowhere mentions any potassium. On the other hand RyVita indicates a fairly high amount of potassium. I don't know if that means Amisa contains none, or if they just haven't bothered to mention it. They are very lightweight and there seems to be little of anything in one crispbread - just something to put under the topping to hold it together.

Saw a GP this morning - the Health Centre had phoned with an appointment for me to disuss the results of my last blood test. Seems that 3 of the tablets that have been prescribed for me are ones which damage the kidneys so not one, not 2 but 3 challenges to my kidneys. No wonder I've been having problems. This has apparently been the cause of the high potassium and that the cause of the heart issues of last week. I wonder why nobody noticed before this that I was being given unsuitable medication.

Anyway, I have been taken off 2 of the tablets and been given another one which should be kinder to my kidneys, although I think I was taken off that one about 2 years ago for some reason. We shall see. Heart has settled down now anyway.

This means that there's no reason to go for only low potassium foods at present so I can eat normally meantime.

Breakfast was, in any case, bacon on lc crispbread.

Had lunch of some more of the veggie stew from yesterday - more like soup really.

Was intending to make moussaka but got caught up in a Zoom chat and it was too late to make it so just had some more crispbread with Tartex. I'll make the moussaka tomorrow even though I do have another appointment for a US scan of my liver.

Sounds promising 're making changes moving forward but what a mess that you were prescribed meds in the first place that damage your kidneys! Pleased though to hear your heart is settling and that you won't need to make another change to your diet. Hope things settle on your new pills.

4.9 at 04.15 today. Another trip to town for my liver scan scheduled for later. Poor Neil - he's having to cart me around day after day but maybe he can get the windscreen fixed (stone chips) while he's waiting. He tried yesterday but the people who used to do that job, don't seem to be doing it any more. He'll have to have a hunt around to see who does.

I'm being lazy. Couldn't be bothered to make anything for breakfast, so it was back to the low carb crackers with some cheese and ham.

Just about to start preparing the moussaka for baking later since I'll be going out this afternoon and won't feel like doing anything but sleep when I get back.

I havent eaten anything yet and after visiting the Fox's biscuit factory the other day, I don't think I should eat for a week! The visit was part of a coach trip to an M n S superstore in Pudsey, near Leeds We were a bit disappointed with the superstore. We had a panini in a nearby Asda store and had a look round a huge B n M. I bought some biscuits in the Fox's shop but I've parcelled them up to give to one of our clubs and a few to the old gent who lives across from me. He's 94 and enjoys a biscuit with his cup of tea. But I do wonder why on earth I bought some????

Forgot yesterday's food, and activities. Don't think there was anything interesting or unusual. Except serving teas at a meeting I kept picking at the homemade brownies. Very nice but gave me indigestion later

Second opinion dentist. Last weeks recommended £3,500 initial work. Today "nothing needed just £45 for the exam"! Which do I believe???

Today food was
Ff greek with seeds and blackberries. Cwc
2 chicken thighs and leftover veg. Too many chocolate coated almonds
Bit of ham. 2 lc crackers with cream cheese and cucumber
Glass red wine

Should I demand royalties from CMT for using my sandwich picture? ;)
Of course you should!
Judging from the picture, it's absolutely amazing how versatile cauliflower is! :hilarious:

(And for anyone not following the main thread, CMT ridiculously decided to add @IanBish 's sourdough bacon sandwich to @shelley262 's cauliflower cheese recipe. :hilarious:)

Ok, tons of excuses time lol.

I've had the worst 3 years of my life, lost count on doctors and hospital trips and things happening that may make you feel sick, well one of them anyway.
Since November 4 days after my birthday my life changed for good with a lump poking out my side, no more adventures, no more running in scotland or hiking which i live for. so most of the Keto diet went out the window. in case some of the foods that really doesn't suit me.

Today which is rare for me, mother pride toast and jam for breakfast, doesn't spiking my sugar levels. Pot noodle for dinner, still ok that and a pizza for teat which made me ill.

I don''t mind telling you, self destruction mode, after sending 3 days in hospital from monday this week till wednesday morning has made things even worse, I shouldn't have left the hospital , i was so ill i can't remember much about monday and nothing about tuesday, all i can remember is telling the nurse i feel dizzy with an extreme headache and pains in my stomach and bowels. i think it was wednesday doctors were called in due to something wrong with my tummy where they felt something wrong they called for an emergency scan which the hospital refused todo. they discharged me with low blood pressure which i suffer from a lot anyway, allowed me to drive, i have no idea how i did that.

My doctor keep arguing with the hospital for a scan have another appointment on the 3rd.

How many people here feel if they are not getting anywhere in life due to so many issues with getting help?
