They've accepted my offer of 10 euro's!
I thought to use a kilo of meat and freeze in portions. The google tells me it freezes well!Just a heads up in the terrine...
It is very rich and has made a lot. We are 3 adults and have had it for lunch for the second day and are still only halfway through it. Boys are having theirs on bread, mine i wrap in lettuce and cucumber as it's too strong on its own.
The cats are enjoying it, but they won't eat the whole peppercorns!
Maybe make a third or half the recipe?
It's definitely cast iron, it's at least 3 times as heavy as I expected!Congratulations! I see on the E-bay site that the mincers are cast iron.

But it looks and smells very clean and has very little rust. Bought a loaf of sliced white bread for the first time in years to clean it afterwards, think I'll have a go with some wet bread first to get the possible taste of rust out too.
Got all the shopping done for my terrine. I've read a bunch of recipes and it looks like as long as you use liver and fatty meat you'll be good, regardless of the ratio meat/liver, so I'll just use what I bought: Pork belly strips, pork liver and chicken livers, and I'll try to get the inside as pretty as @MrsA2 's with a layer of chicken livers and pork meat pieces in the middle.
Main flavour will be green peppercorns, and my aunt, who's a very good cook told me to add some cognac as well, so I will.
So I'm off to the kitchen, wish me luck!
It's in the oven now!Good luck!
So am I!@Antje77 I am looking forward to seeing the results.

My neighbour is planning to have some of his sheep move to freezer camp because he has too many now he's moved house and has lost some grazing places.I must get some chicken liver. At present I only have lamb's liver.
Please keep us updated, if you manage such sorcery we definitely want to know!@Antje77 Glad you enjoyed the experiment. I'm working on a low carb version of the choux puffs next
