Yesterday's breakfast was bacon and l/c crispbread sandwich - not good for my gums, the crispbread is very brittle. 2nd meal was l/c pasta with bolognese sauce.

Breakfast today was bacon with RyVita - not so harsh on my gums. 2nd meal will be more of the moussaka. It's there to be used up but I have come to the conclusion that I don't actually like aubergine. Not actually fond of courgettes either; they are alright and I can continue to use them but I think that's enough aubergine and it won't be repeated.

One of the many good things about being grown-up is that we don't have to eat things we don't like.
But with the limitations imposed by BG readings, I feel we have to try all possible options. But enough is enough. I have tried to like aubergines, just as I have tried to like asparagus. All to no avail.

@MrsA2 , I've been going slower at 2.5 mph but somehow it's worse for my aching legs and my arthritic hip. I tried the 3.5 and it seemed to work better. My grandson is a personal trainer and he tells me, yes, I should walk as much as possible but I should also be weight training! At my age, it would be better for me. I've yet to try the weights. ;)
Just take care and increase duration slowly then

Before supermarket shop had 30g weight of ham so I didn't get too tempted.
Stuck to list, hurrah!

L: mushrooms with garlic and butter, 30g weight cheese.Full fat grrek yoghurt with 5 fresh cherries chopped up small

Mid afternoon: a seed bar and a lc hot chocolate

D; Sea bass, sweetheart cabbage and garlic mushrooms. 3 teaspoons commercial tiramisu.

Huubys been to dentist for a filling. Came back with major headache. Took paracetamol and had a nap. Hoping it's just mild reaction and not the nasty flu that's now affecting several people we socialised with on Sunday.. he's a bad enough patient after one minor dental. If he's really poorly, I won't be happy! Fingers crossed for me please:)

Oh, forgot "Annoyance of the Day"
Had to drive to a major Tescos to return clothing items (3 out of 4) that didn't fit. No problem with the refund but I did say to the customer service lady "I wish you bring back changing rooms, it's a big inconvenience and fuel for me". Her reply "Well its much better for us" !!!! :banghead:
Guess where I won't be buying from much more...?

Pretty grotty again today with BP lower than usual for me at 153/49 so I didn't take my blood pressure pills. Thursday leg day but heart was still fluttery - has been for a couple of weeks now - and I was feeling pretty nauseous so I just had some tea and left it at that. BG was far too high anyway.

By the time we got back it was lunchtime and I had some RyVita with ham - a bit tasteless but acceptable and some more tea.

If I feel like eating later on it will be beef curry using the mince from earlier in the week - already cooked so just need to add some chickpea "rice".

Hi everyone,
Hope everyone ok and hugs to those with health issues. Was some beautiful sunshine here today which definitely cheered me up. Had the dreaded smear test this morning, nurse was lovely but ouch,so painful! Haven’t had one for 9 yrs cos was due for one when Docs was in lockdown, so they have just caught up with me. Still,if everything ok,will be my last one, one benefit to getting older!
Then on Sunday, was doing some sewing in the gloom, making buttonholes on a blouse I am making and sewing buttons on and that coupled with too much screen time, gave me eye strain, which has taken until today to go.
Hopefully a better day tomorrow, going to a second viewing of a property with my daughter which will be fun, love seeing other people’s houses!

Luckily hubby's ills didn't develop into anything. Phew!

3 scrambled eggs before 2 hours dancing followed by tea with friends. Quick appointment meant not home again until 14:30. Not particularly hungry so thought I skip lunch.
However I started cooking some hm lc nut cookies and far too many tastings fell into my mouth.

Feeling over full and bloated so skipping dinner too.

Not sure a diet of only eggs and nuts is any good, at least its only one day.

It's the day for my cleaner to come so I've been getting the house straightened out. Because she was coming early I just had RyVita and Marmite for breakfast. Then she called to say she can't get here until this afternoon. Still - that's breakfast done so can't change it now.

2nd meal will be steak and onions.

Fasted until a pub lunch at 12:30
Not particularly good choices, but could have been a lot worse!
Whitebait
Sausages, mash and veg. The sausages were huge! Twice the size of normal ones, so ate 1 ,bought other home. Not particularly meaty either . Mash was tasty with cabbage and cheese in. Left some...which is unusual for me.

Just had a plate of cheese, cucumber and a bit of cold sausage . Hubby prepared it so portions bigger than I needed, as were the chunks. He just cannot cut anything small.

I slept 2 hours earlier and still feel tired. Maybe it's the carbs?

Skipped breakfast as Saturday is yoga day.
Did pop into village coffee morning and did have 3 mini sausage rolls (which is their only non-cake offering!)
Lunch was a tuna melt 90 second bread. Then I made an lc chocolate mousse ready for visitors tomorrow so there were many tastings to get it just right.
D: a tin of mince found at back of cupboard, only 3 years past best by date. Was fine! Served with celeriac mash and cabbage.
Now having a brandy and soda.

Somehow all the lc biscuits I made on Thursday afternoon have vanished. There was 200g of nuts in them. Supposed to be 12 portions . Too easy to pick at. Will not make again. :stop:

Morning all. Lovely, clear frosty morning but with the sun shining. Whe you see the sun, it makes you feel glad to be alive even if you have Diabetes. I'm going for a carvery today with a friend so I can pick and choose. Makes things a bit easier. Have a sunny Sunday everyone.

So far - nothing. Had a really bad night - about half an hour of sleep altogether, jittery heart, really painful left leg, hip and shoulder plus I think the l/c loaf I bought must have had something in it that I shouldn't eat because the effects was pretty painful and unpleasant. Can't see what that might have been from the list of ingredients. Anyway, I have a pot of bits and pieces stew that I decided to make yesterday - leftover cooked beef, mixture of veg and some stock from a Knorr stockpot. So that will do when I do decide to eat. Been sleeping all day and only just took the pills I should have taken this morning.

Monday lunch club today so no idea what it will be. Except in the winter we always start with soup. I have a busy day today. After lunch, I'm fetching my grandson to stay with me for a few days before he goes back to the States. Haven't seen him since just after Christmas when he went to Czech Republic to stay with his girlfriend. Thinking back to when I was his age, going on a 'plane never entered my head. I went to live in Holland when I was 20, but travelled on a train, ferry and bus! How times have changed.

Another bad night but I got myself back through to the kitchen, took some painkillers and managed about 4 hours sleep in the big chair. Feeling a bit better today and had, possibly, my one meal today of some more of the stew with some chickpea rice stirred in. Still finding it difficult to move around due to over-fast heart , muscle pain and breathlessness. Tomorrow I have to have an ECG and they'll attach a monitor for 48 hours to see what is happening.

The first time I ever flew was to Schiphol airport from London back in 1963, aged 18. A very novel experience, especially travelling abroad alone for the first time ever (unless you count Scotland as abroad from Kent). I was going to Holland to meet up with my fiance who was on a ship, in dry-dock somewhere close to where Antje lives. Also the first time I tasted olives - on the plane. I was sat next to an American man who talked and talked non stop about himself and his travels and the only thing that made him halt in his monologue was when he bit into the olive in his salad. I think he thought it was a black grape and was quite shocked at the salty taste. A few short moments of quiet ensued.

Interesting travel stories.
One of my earliest is of my parents and me driving all the way to Spain and camping there. ( previously we'd been to France and Switzerland). When school restarted I was the only one to have been abroad so she had to put up a Europe map, but after a few days she took it down to make room for soemthing else. But the UK map stayed up for the whole year. I felt so at odds with everyone else that I never mentioned going aboard again , well not until package holidays began cheaper and everyone went.!
