Perfect description, @DCUKMod , and so thoughtful to find a Dutch link!To butcher the bone out, one just slides the boning knife under the ribs and follow the bone along. (Baaaaad description, but easy enough to do.)
When the belly is de-boned, you end up with boneless belly and a row of spare ribs. I made stock with ours this time, but they could be BBQed, grilled, or whatever.

If you use a butcher, he should be able to cut the meat however you want it.

I might just go to my butcher using this description. He sells pork that has had a somewhat better life than most, which for me makes meat taste better, as buying meat always leads to a complicated conversation between different parts of me. He also is always willing to get 'funny' things for me, so I expect he'd be delighted if I wanted something like this
I have no clue about how you foreigners butcher your pigs, but to be honest, I don't know anything about pig butchering in the Netherlands eitherTo be honest, I was curious whether you foreigners () butchered pork differently to we jolly Brits.
@djc3 thank you! your suggestion has helped and got me thinking. I haven't seen the rhemotologist/pain specialist for quite a number of years so most likely he would want to see me for a review. but will mention to my new GP for referral so be interesting how she will react as she is coming across as its her way only without really understanding or talking to me about my thoughts, Like I could with my old doctor. I so miss him. Its sad he is very sick
The only other problem is with covid-19 I'm restricted in traveling due to my low immunity so may be an issue for me to get to see my rhemotologist as its a 2 hour train commute. Life used to be a lot easier before Covid-19 it certainly puts all our lives on hold at the moment.
Also thank you for your compliment on my strawberry creation normally I would of just thrown everything into a bowl and gulped it down but decided to go fancy that I even impressed myself!
Don't know if you wanted instant decaff, but millicano or azera are nice.
There's been no caffinatedness in this house for years, even the diet coke! Although, weirdly still drink twinnings everyday tea?? Took about 25 years to realise that my stomach doesn't like caffeine, it's really common apparently.
I do not use a chain saw to cut pigs up, I learnt to use a cleaver / chopper when I was apprentice as it is much less wasteful. To be honest, I was curious whether you foreigners () butchered pork differently to we jolly Brits.
We really enjoyed the chicken from the farm shop we roasted for a second weekend and have lots of leftovers for various other meals. This evening Mr PM is having a couple of burgers with melted cheese and chips and I am having an omelette, either cheese & tomato or mushroom, or could be all three, why not!
Breakfast was another slice of brown Nimble toast, lots of tea.
Lunch will be salad bits and things from the fridge that need using up.
I absolutely love brocolli and in a previous life ate it virtually every day, my fave is the ordinary type and I quite like tenderstem too. However I am really struggling with the purple sprouting variety the farm shop gave me this week. I think its the lack of flavour and the stringy stems. I cant even turn it into soup.
You’re too kind. I’d make the fussy adult kids make their own!Well it was supposed to be tuna melts but my fussy adult kids don’t like tuna so I made half with tuna and half with bacon!
Looking forward to seeing some of your cooking creations. I think does make the meal taste just that little bit better.Perhaps the rheumatologist would offer a phone consultation as an interim measure?
I agree It does make a difference if you take the time to arrange and present food nicely. Most of the time I don’t do it either but you have inspired me now.
I saw a doctor on TV who said she washed her vegetables in a very mild soapy water then rinsed them thoroughly and drain on and towels before storing. Not sure about that but I now place my vegetables in plastic bag at shops then just give good wash under running water when get home but no idea what best idea is. I have heard that food items are fine as long as you wash them.20-04-2020

Does anyone else worry about eating cucumber now. Am never quite comfortable with it after the cashier has handled it. I wash them under the tap. Is this enough?

Too much food and too often again!

Lunch was chicken salad with h/m mayo then a DGF blueberry and lemon drizzle cake with a cup of tea.
Dinner https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-pesto-chicken-casserole with roast broccoli and 2 glasses red wine.
Somewhere in between the two meals I also had another of the IP custards, 3 HC 100% batons and about 50g cheddar sigh.
Tomorrow I will have self control!
