Did I forget to say line it, if not fully at least the bottom! Sorry!05.07.2020
CWC
late breakfast, @Goonergal style
Half a pack of cream cheese with lemon curd and more cream mixed in.
( the lemon curd needs eating)
Lunch:
2 slices of toast with duck mousse.
Greek yoghurt with lemon curd and half a teaspoon of honey.
Dinner. Spicy mince, and brocolli rice, bith from the freezer. Runner beans and mangetout from the garden.
Picked over a kilo of beans today, fair amount of mangetout as well, but thankfully, only two courgettes.
Managed to blanch and freeze the mangetout. Made new brine for the pickled walnuts that are in process.
The cauliflower cheese bread was delicious. Only downside pan was difficult to clean so be lavish with the butter, when greasing the tin.
Mine. Yeah, I’m always torn between fasting and bacon and eggs. Hope tomorrow feels better.Yours or someone elses?
By the way, if you're into fasting, it's real easy the day after
Nieuwe haring is the best with a hangover! Fatty, salty, soft, slippery and satisfying. And no carbs either.Mine. Yeah, I’m always torn between fasting and bacon and eggs. Hope tomorrow feels better.

I feel so sorry for all you foreigners for not having haring in your country.
But according to this video by a teacher teaching Dutch to expats foreigners seem to like to tackle the day after with anything but haring
edit: I shouldn't have watched the video. I crave a haring so badly now!
With me it's easy for 3 days! Strictly water only. Worst one was when my sister served up homemade limoncello which was lethal. I lost the power of speech for a while.Yours or someone elses?

Had some cold chicken for breakfast. Didn't enjoy it but it filled a gap. Actually didn't enjoy it yesterday either. I did enjoy the mushrooms and could taste them, although the chicken seemed quite tasteless.
Later will be some kind of salad with egg mayo - not sure what, I don't have any lettuce or cucumber, or olives; just cabbage and tomatoes, oh and red onions. Could make it just a tomato salad, but don't even have any basil.Poor me!
Called for my blood test results - everything, apart from HBa1c is good. Dr doubts that the clinic will be starting up any time soon for my bowel issues, although he would refer me if he thought my problems merited it. He doesn't - just avoid the foods that seem to cause problems. He thinks it is more an intolerance problem than a cancer problem. (Odd that, in the past, the idea of food intolerances was pooh-poohed, but now it seems to be an answer to nuisance patients.) The only concern is HBa1c, which is higher than before but he doesn't deal with that so he is referring it to the diabetic clinic and they, apparently, will be in touch. I'll give it a few days to see, and then get in touch with them myself.
Earlier than usual today - Mr C is working 10am-6pm all this week instead of his normal 2pm-10pm which, for some reason, involved us both getting up a few hours earlier than usual. Getting up early has completely confused the dogs and my digest system and I feel exhausted already.
I haven't managed to bring myself to eat yet but my cunning plan (if I ever feel like eating again) is
Brunch or lunch: scrambled eggs and kimchi on the side (although I might skip this meal completely)
Dinner: some Linda McCartney pulled spicy fake chicken in romaine leaves wraps with a tomato feta and olive side Greek salad and some garlic mayo in the fake chicken lettuce wrap.
Evening all
@Chook @Brunneria you are incorrigible. Despite having walked several miles today, I am now running through in my mind which local shops might be open with suitable chocolate!
No breakfast - set out early-ish to walk to Chelsea Physic Garden. One of my favourite places and only recently re-opened. Amazed that I was able to book a time slot for today yesterday. A little over 7 miles there. @Chook passed the end of a road in SE London that we have in common and thought of you!
Usually their cafe has nothing of interest for me, aside drinks, but today they had little pots of rosemary roasted nuts, so had one of those and a Diet Coke on arrival, followed by another and a sparkling water before leaving.
Wandered home via Victoria, Parliament Square (both very quiet) and then along the river. Hopped on a boat from the Tower for a couple of stops to get me closer to home and then picked up a lamb doner kebab (no bread) with onions on the way. Have just had a low carb hot chocolate - hopefully will prevent any forays to the shop.
Ann - Do you have the results, or your GP's feedback as "good"?
Frankly, in your shoes, as a person who has had an historic cancer diagnosis, and then subsequent changes in bowel movements/activity, I would not be at all happy to be declined a referral.
That would simply not be good enough for me.
When I had breast surgery for a breast tumour (benign, but rare and unusual - Obviously, it was me! I couldn't be typical anything!!), I had further puckering a couple of months later. When I went to see my GP about it, she didn't even want to examine me, she just referred me whilst I was sitting in front of her, for a 2-week appointment.
Whilst I do subscribe with not inflicting problems by eating known irritants, I would want my bowel checked, pronto.
All I will say is I am unaware of any form of cancer that waits..........
Of course, I have a big fat zero idea if your issues are sinister or utterly benign, so please don't think I am trying to panic you.
Right now, today, I'd be organising a second opinion.
Not at all the same. Yes, it's the same fish, a haring is a herring but the preparation is completely different. I guess you'll have to make a trip to the Netherlands with your grandson to try it, it's usually eaten on the street, while standingIs the "haring" something like the British pickled herring? No 2 son is very fond of that
Does anyone know what effect dhal has on BG? I've been looking it up and it seems only about 6 or 8 g carbs per 100 g. But I have a feeling that the effect is greater than that would indicate. I would really like to try adding more pulses to my diet, but am quite unsure.
Just GP feedback - they don't believe in giving patients their actual results. It's obviously me being pathetic, Neil gets all the information he asks for (partly because he actually knows what he is talking about and manages to source lots of information, partly because he is stubborn - one of the advantages of Asperger's). My brother, in Swindon, can get all of his results on the GP's website, now that he is living in Swindon but not when he lived in Canterbury. He's another stubborn (assertive) character, which didn't stop him losing the use of a kidney due to (unprovable) negligence when in Canterbury.
I'll have another go and see if I can get a more helpful GP on the phone. I think they regard me as a bit of a pest and (as I've said before) a bit of a hypochondriac and it's often quite difficult getting beyond the receptionist. It's odd, there must be something about me, as doctors have rarely taken me seriously. When my husband was sick, they couldn't do enough to help, but that was before they started depending on nurse practitioners to do the work of doctors.
That sounds like a fantastic day Goonergal!!!! Perfect. x
