Oh dear, all the wrong things, but, bearing in mind what you had, I wouldn't be too disappointed with those results, and I'm sure you wouldn't be doing it every week! Beef in gravy was prob o.k. Hope you enjoyed the chicken balls though, I really miss those!

Today had,
two poached eggs and Hi Lo toast slice. Green tea and coconut oil.
Lunch some pork and sauer kraut in cream sauce concoction, topped with diced beetroot. Some pomegranate seeds
Tea: More pork and sauerkraut thing with buttered cabbage and cheese. Bar of dark choc. Glass red wine
Supper: Pomegranite seeds and olives
Snacks: olives and gherkins, redbush tea with almond milk

The healthy beef onions and gravy was the one I had least of as I don't like the beef in it. The 9.9 is the highest reading I have had. But learnt my lesson, to stick with my gut feeling and say no.

But you have to spoil yourself every know and then.

I discovered that my beloved popcorn isn't off limits!! Proper Corn has 10g of carb in a packet of sour cream and chive flavour so I'm now aiming to have half a bag as a treat a couple of times a week! Whoop whoop!!

Thanks @bookmite feeling a bit better already, just aching ribs! Think the fishcakes sounded fine, and at least you enjoyed them

Breakfast: 2 shredder wheats with skimmed milk and a apple that fits in my palm of my hand.

Lunch: 2 rounds of either whole meal/ granary bread, 3ozs very lean ham, tomato, lettuce and a medium size banana.

Dinner: 3ozs Chicken with no skin. 4 egg size potatoes, and 1/2 plate full of vegetables. A orange that fits into the palm of my hand.

No I didn't have the above food but I would have if I took notice of my type 2 diabetes awareness course today.

She stood there and said you could have 4 egg size potatoes, you look at the booklet it says 2. I bet some people are more confused after attending it than they was before. I just played along with them, so I no what they wanted to hear you had for breakfast this morning. So I said porridge with a medium size banana. She told me I had a good choose.

What would she have said it I told the truth. Creamy natural Greek yogurt with 1/2 a weetabix crumbled into it.

I googled that when I was first diagnosed and thought that it was actually very much the duet I had been eating that had made me fat and diabetic- in fact 8 portions of starchy foods is probably even more than I was having on a carb fest day.

If I ate all what she was talking about I don't think I would now be 1st 3lbs lighter than I was when I was diagnosed on 12th September. I'm now pride to say I over weight and not Obsessed. Still got a long way to go but I don't mind if the weight starts to come off a bit more slowly.

It's amazing how the weight drops off when you ditch the healthy eating plate. I've lost nearly 4st since may and I had never managed to shift even half a stone a year before that. Well done x

what did you have? I found Chinese if you leave out dishes that are batter coated & rice, just stick to meat with black bean sauce etc, noodles, chow main etc are OK.

Paul59 They had just ordered the things we use to have.

Phase 2 of diabetes miracle is not going well.

I'm following the instructions to a T.
And my BG is annoyingly high.
Last night I had a great supper of mince stir fried with runner beans and mange touts, followed by 1 (10g carbs) pikelet thing. Toasted with butter and marmite.
YUM!
9.2 at 1 hr and 7.8 at 2 hours.
Bear in mind that for the whole of phase 1 I didn't rise above 7 at any time.
And I've only added an extra 5g carbs per meal

Not happy!

Today, I had a fasting BG of 8.5!!! (Usually around 6.5)

So today, I embarked on a series of investigations.
Breakfast, 10 g of wheat carbs = over 9 at 2 hrs
Elevenses, 10g of 70% choc = rise of less than 1
Lunch, 10 g wheat carbs = rise of 2.7
Snack 9bar = rise of 0.2

My lowest reading has been 6.1
Haven't seen a 5 since Sunday when I had my first 10g carb meal.

So, I think the main problem is the wheat. Will have to test other grains too. Seem to have MUCH better tolerance for carbs as choc, nuts and seeds, berries and similar.

This evening will be 10g potato carbs. Will report back.

B 1 x thickly buttered warburtons crumpet, 1 mile brisk walk to work & 2 hrs later BG 4.5
Late pub lunch all day breakfast 2 bacon, mushrooms, supposedly 2 all meat sausages, 2 fried eggs small portion baked beans
Tested 2 hrs later 8.8, oops brisk 1 mile walk 5.5.
Dinner will be salad with cheese and nuts.

Don't believe what you read in menu's is my new motto lol

B- bbq chicken breast with mayo and a tablespoon of peanut butter
L- salad with poached salmon and olive oil and a table spoon of noodles
S - 9bar
D - mince and veg with cauliflower (ate too much cauliflower and now I feel like a stuffed pepper)

Could you be experiencing a bit of enzyme lag? My way of describing how it takes a day or so for your body to catch up with additional enzymal requirements for additional carbs?

There will definitely be some enzyme lag in the mix (love that phrase, by the way), but there is such an obvious contrast between wheat and non wheat reactions.

I'm 5 mins away from my 1 hr test after tonight's dinner - exactly the same as last night, but swapping 10g wheat carbs for 10g potato salad carbs.

See you in 4... 3... 2...
