Yes I'd like to know what the book is like, as my wife has suffered with thyroid for over 20yrs now, she diagnosed herself in the begining as the so called Dr, just put everything down to her way of life, within 3 days of him testing her she was seeing a specialist & put on meds as she was very hyperthyroid, then she had another test a short while after starting the meds to see how things were doing & the dumbass Dr read the results wrong & changed one of her meds & boom that's when it all went **** up, (excuse the French) when she saw the specialist he went totally ape as what the Dr had done by doing what he did totally shocked her nervous system & he wrote & gave the Dr a good blasting. then she had the radioactive iodine & that knocked the thyroid out over time & is on thyroxine now, but the after the nervous system shock she has suffered ever since & life can be hell at time, so a good book on the subject maybe a great help as she can never seem to get the support she needs.

Yep, at Christmas, and even with my hair starting to fall and infected sinuses I was told my levels were 'balanced now'... to me they were appallingly low... Madness indeed... I have to stop taking Levothyroxine I think...
I know that one, they always seem to try to keep you on the low side of normal when personnaly being on the higher side of normal would be better, the wife has a prob with weight as they keep here on the low side of norm.

Tonight I made pineapple ice cream with blueberries. Easy. Little pot of pineapple chunks. Unsweetened. Hand full blueberries and double cream. Whiz in processor or with hand blender with 3 ice cubes...bliss. eat or freeze. Next to no carbs. Lush
Sounds lovely. I may give that a whirl when my tongue returns to normal. No decaff in Costa today so I bought a green tea to go. It was so hot I scalded my tongue with the first sip.

I've used umami paste, tom puree, mushroom ketchup and various herbs and spices.

Will use some pickle one day, and maybe a jerk or curry paste... (Not at the same time)

Sage must be lovely.
Never heard of mushroom ketchup...sounds interesting. What's umami paste pls

B: yoghurt blackberries and cream with flaxseed, 2 x coffee with cream
L: nothing, not hungry
D: bacon and scrambled eggs
S: yoghurt raspberries and cream with flaxseed

You've got me thinking now, I've been reading a bit more about natural thyroxine so I might broach the subject with my GP

Going to have to try them again. I can just about manage guacamole but there's something off putting about the texture of them.

@Susikav, how high was your cholesterol susikav? That's great you have no calcification on your body my cholesterol is on the high-ish side as well, which I think is genetic most of us have high cholesterol.

Yesterday's food:

B - 2 x bacon, poached egg, mushrooms and grilled tomato
D - Roast Chicken, 2 roast potatoes, Sage & Onion stuffing, peas and runner beans and a little gravy
T - Home made ham, mushroom and cheese quiche (yummmmyyyy)
S - pork scratching, handful of cashews

Good morning folks!
Over the weekend, my food consisted of:

On Friday night a slow cooked beef thai red curry (added a dollop of peanut butter at the end which made it divine), with cauli rice.
Cooked breakfasts including a few beans without sauce and half slice of fried bread.
On Saturday night, a baked camembert and chorizo pieces dipped with avocado slices, lettuce wedges, cucumber, toms olives etc. Followed by topping only pizza. The baked camembert was lovely - it's new in ASDA, comes in a nice ceramic dish with a sachet of chorizo for £3.00 .
On Sunday had a slice of leftover pizza at lunch but went for long walk after. Sunday dinner was sausages, root mash and cabbage.
Desserts were sugar free jelly with cream. 1 glass of red wine on Saturday night.

Hope you all had a nice weekend of low carb loveliness

This morning had scrambled eggs and avocado for breakfast, with hot water and lemon. While having breakfast saw a great recipe on Lorraine. It's an egg and bacon tart, but I'm sure you could omit the breadcrumbs used in the recipe - will be trying this at the weekend! See below:

Egg and bacon tart

I bake a Camembert and push thin slices of chorizo into slits on the top of one half, and garlic in the other. Equally delicious and anti-social.
