What have you eaten today?

B - nutty 9bar with disastrous results
L - egg salad with four grapes and a handful of black currents
D - bacon, mushrooms, 95% pork sausages and a poached egg

L beefburger and salad that spiked me to 8. They are off the menu. Butchers own too many carbs
T was a small bowl of home made popcorn. Just not hungry with this cold
Levels back down to 5.8
 
br: creamy coffee
l: bit of smoked salmon, watery salad, homemade salad cream, stilton. walnuts and brazilnuts in shells
d: lamb curry with dessicated coconut milk, 5g of banana, 1 tbsp of cooked rice, watery salad stuff and poppadum. Pud was brie and 3 nuts
later: tsp of peanut butter
 
Mackerel pate
Crustless quiche and scratchings

Chopped sausage, stir fried with greenery and curry paste. Still peckish, so may go and prospect in a mo (mug cake incoming) :wacky:
 
@alliebee yes I tied the nutty one. 8.6 before hand - an hour later I felt a bit rough and was at 12.3 at 2 hours I was down to 10.3. Was shocked to say the least... Will try some of the other flavours at some point as I really enjoyed the nutty one even if it didn't like me :)
 
@Brunneria do you make your own mackerel pate or is it pre made? I love mackerel but have never had or seen a pate version
 
Oh that's such a shame. They don't raise me by much at all but I couldn't have one at breakfast. Maybe try later in the day. Cos they are so nice..lots of people can't handle carbs at breakfast
 
Actually, just put two and two together!

Had a stressful afternoon, and a slightly different lunch, and if think I went too low. Didn't test, because I didn't realise, at the time, what was happening.

The good news is that it was such a mild hypo it hardly deserves the name!
Thank goodness for very low carbing. I'm feeling a bit achy now, and my supper is only bringing my BG up very slowly, but that is good. For me, the slower the rise, the less likely I will drop sharply.

All in all, a fab result. I'm delighted.

Another reason to celebrate with my buttery, creamy peanutty mug cake! :happy:

Oh, it is soooo easy.

Get your smoked mackerel,
Skin it, bone it, flake it into a measuring jug with high sides
Add sour cream OR cream cheese OR double cream
Add Lemon juice and black pepper
Add horseradish

Mix it up.
You can leave it rough, or hand blend it smooth (hence suggesting the high sides on the jug, because you can blend in it, if you like)
All quantities totally variable.

Also works with smoked salmon or kippers
 
Breakfast: Wheetbix, bread, tea.
Lunch: Bread with garlic cheese and herb spread with a 200ml bottle of Strawberry Nutrica Cubitan
Dinner: Tuc crackers, rice cake and a cup of tea.

Have you tried asking if he does a gluten-free version Allie? I know that's not necessarily a fool-proof option, but at least the butcher should be able to tell you exactly what's in them.

Two cups of tea
Brunch of egg n bacon
Snack of half a mug cake
Supper is going to be a pain. Mr B is out at work, so I'm cooking for one. And I forgot to put the chicken in to roast. So I'm going to have to cobble something together. Humph.

L. Small ham and cheese salad

D. 1/2 a Avocado. This is the first time I have ever tasted it. Is it right it have 8 carbs in it. That's what it said on the internet site I
was on.
50g sweet potato, broccoli and grilled salmon.
 
Breakfast poached egg, bacon, mushrooms
Lunch bacon and mushroom frittata bit of salad
Dinner slow cooked lamb, cauli cheese mash green veg
Hoping I can have half an apple and piece of cheese later if meter ok
