Morning campers! I trust you all had a great Christmas :) Yesterday I had

Breakfast: decaf with double cream and coconut oil

Christmas dinner...

Starter: celeriac and cashew roast with red onion and balsamic chutney

Main: Quorn family roast, cauliflower in Wensleydale sauce with walnuts, ratatouille and (because my Quorn peppered steak was AWOL due to a miscalculation) more celeriac nut roast from the starter. Lots of proseccco.

Pudding: low carb chocolate and raspberry trifle (soaked in chambord)

Evening snacks: Tesco black pepper popcorn. M&S 72% orange flavoured chocolate (tasted like matchmakers!)

Only managed one reading yesterday one hour after my main course which was 5.3. Had a great day at my mum's and enjoyed all the food :D

Can I come and stay with you next Xmas?
(Or at your mums?)

Further to my last post, late in the evening, I also had a large brandy and then a small glass of port with some stilton.

Highest reading all day was 7.4 (1 hour after dinner) . Lowest was 4,7 (alcohol inflicted I believe). Went to bed on 6.4. Woke this morning to 5.5 and was too lazy to make my bullet coffee before going back to bed for 2 hours. Consequently I then got up to 6.4. But I am used to this dawn phenomenom nonsense and it always happens if I have alcohol the day before and sometimes with carbs. All in all not a bad day

Can only face sausage meat today with cheese n a few oatcakes. Got start of a cold again... (thanks hubby!)

Well I thought I avoided cold from all my neighbours n friends, but then 8 days ago he started sniffling. He still bad, and non diabetic! So his **** christmas present to me!!!! (Thank you so much), now I'm going to have to cancel my partying on 27th n 28th!!! Don't want to pass this on to others...

Man flu, woman flu....T1 cold beats the bl**dy lot... At least it did last year!! Just keep thinking I gonna wnd up being ill for another 5 months like last year!!

If he gets cold again.. I'm gonna get an Ebola outfit in the sale for him!!! And isolate him totally!!

Not happy !!!!!

Christmas Day I had:
Breakfast, yogurt and strawberries, tea
Dinner, large fillet steak, garden peas, carrots, cauliflower, sprouts, 4 roast potatoes, gravy, sausage & bacon, Yorkshire pudding. No mash or stuffing. Strawberries and cream
One After Eight and one Cadbury's Milk Caramel.
Wine and more wine.
Supper, cheese, water crackers, pickled onions, mayo.
Wine and more wine.

Fasting was 5.3. Bedtime was 5.3. This morning was 5.4. So I went to bed the same as I got up, and I got up the same as I went to bed. :) I shall never know what I was in between.

Breakfast bacon, poached egg chipolatas
Lunch pate cheese celery pickled onions
Dinner another Xmas dinner with one roastie
Snack 2sq dark choc cold sausagemeat and a piece of smoked cheese - probably bump me up in morning along with all the protein from the turkey.

After Christmas dinner two days in a row, I feel like a blob now :dead:

Will be making a cauldron of vegetable soup today and eating only boiled eggs and soup for a few days. Normal service will resume at Hogmanay.

B: scram eggs and smoked salmon
S: 2 chocs and a 11g bag popcorn
L: 2 homemade burgers with caulicheese and broccoli

No supper due to feeling off colour. Possible temperature. Achy limbs. No cold symptoms. Rather odd.
Will see what happens tomorrow...

:)

hope you feel better soon Brunneria x

Yesterday, I had a selection of christmassy things from the day before. For breakfast, had a cooked brekkie with chipolatas in bacon, 2 poach eggs, half slice toast, mushrooms fried in butter. Nibbled on veg and bread sauce, cheese, chicken, trifle, a mini toblerone, some butternut squash and a bit of leftover chinese takeaway from xmas eve. For tea i had a curry made with leftover chicken, served with cauli rice and raita. More trifle and a berry champagne spritzer............

Hello all. I loved reading all the Christmas Day food - gave me some good ideas for future meals. Yesterday (Boxing Day in Aus) I went to the sales as per Aussie tradition so was
B: 2 boiled eggs
L: just almonds and a few cashews
D: chicken stir fry without rice (consisting of chicken, green beans, carrot, brocolli).

Today I went to the cricket. b was 2 boiled eggs but lunch went bad as I didn't get my act together to take a packed lunch and ended up eating battered fish and a small amount of fries. It was the least-worst thing I could find as potato doesn't spike me as much as grains do and I can handle a bit of batter in a fish context. It was, at least, absolutely delicious. dinner was 2 barbecued chicken skewers, and salad, and almonds and cashews as a snack.

Hi all, I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas. I've been slightly incommunicado due to broadband problems for the last three days and just realised that turning it off and on again really does work! I have written off the diet for the last two days although I didn't do too badly apart from sweet stuff. I have learned a few things though:
a) Since going lchf I don't even fancy my old favourite carbs even when they're on my plate
b) Even with a few added naughties, I feel fuller for longer and haven't had any hunger pangs at all
c) I really missed lchf! Was looking forward to getting back on the waggon
d) I can leave stuff on my plate without regretting it
e) I need to continue educating my family

Today I haven't eaten anything yet as I'm not hungry, just had 3 coffees with cream. I think I might just have a few carb free snacks later as I've got about a ton of cheese in the fridge

Struggling with sweet cravings after dinner. Trying to fight it but really getting me down.

B: Omelette & 1 toast
L: Less than half a can of Heinz minnestrone soup, half a small sandwich filling tub, coffee
D: Chicken curry and 2 chapatis
Try something like berries and cream... It works for me

I also discovered I like eating less carbs and felt really unwell after my Christmas Day break from the norm...

B - bacon, mushrooms and scrambled egg
S - handful of peanuts
L - tomatoe & Olive salad with a little olive oil, cheese coleslaw, turkey meat and cheese
D - omelette with ham and a little cheese and mushrooms

Hi All,

Still not right.
Had a temperature last night. Proper fever, and now a bit of a mild upset tum.

Happy not to eat, but been trying.
Always find eating low carb while tum is gyppie a challenge, so stuck to:

2 breakfast balls
3 chocs (just tidying up after Xmas...)
Homemade chicken and bacon soup
Sweat bacon and onion in own fat in pan. Add chopped chicken. Stir fry. Add stock cube and boiling water (as per stock cube packet), black pepper and whizz to blend. Serve with cream to taste.
Not bad, though I made it up on the spur of the moment. :D
Under normal circs, I would have added veg too!

Hope you feel better soon - chicken soup is the business when you feel ill. I have felt out of sorts all week since my cold last weekend and think I may now why now.. Looks like I may have shingles again. Had them many years ago during foot and mouth outbreak with the stress and I've the same pain now under my bust and round my waist and I've a faint rash and a few spots. Just what I needed.

@cold ethyl i hope you also feel better soon. I've never had shingles myself but have heard it's unpleasant.
