From one snowflake to another,
I am reading the posts to get some idea on snacks, I dont like anything sweet, never liked it and I see a lot of you guys have 80 percent dark choc or something.
I have my breakfast at 7 which is 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage and mushrooms, not all in one day but I have two or three things in one day, and I make more as I take 1 egg with me to have as a snack at 4
My lunch is protein and salad most of the time but that is at 1. Between 7 and 1 I dont eat anything but if I am absolutely starving I just eat some nuts.
Then at 4 I would have the egg and between 8 and 9 is dinner which is usually proteins carbs and salad.
But the 6 to 7 hour breaks in between my meals is too much and I snack on nuts, I am looking for more options on snacking which is low carb and low fat as even after staying on about 20g on a good day to about 60g carbs on a bad day I am gaining weight, I use MFP and I am taking in about 1200 to 1400 calories.
So can you please suggest me some snack ideas.
Any chance you are underestimating your carb intake? They are the only reason I ever put on weight. My fat intake doesn't seem to factor in. Somehow you must be hitting your personal carb limit (my weight is stable at 40 g carbs, I think, but it all depends on the type of carbs, and if I want to lose weight I have to drop the carbs to about 20g). I would gain weight on 60g.
But (sorry to sound like a stuck record/snowflake) we are all so different, your limits may be very different.
As for snacks...
Bovril or stock in a mug with a dash of cream
Celery with cream cheese
M&S do a gorgeous pack of cold, crisp, streaky bacon. It's not cheap, but maybe you could crisp up a couple of extra slices when you cook breakfast, and take them with you?
9bar now do a savoury sachet of seeds, diced sundried tomatoes and herbs.
Hummus
Taramosalata
Kale crisps
@DeejayR has a brilliant recipe for LC savoury cheese crackers
And I sometimes make some strangely gorgeous cheese nibbles from equal quantities of almond flour, chopped onion and grated cheese (the tangier the better). Plus mustard or horseradish, or paprika, or herbs...
Just blob the mix onto a baking tray and bake in a medium over until the onion has gone medium golden brown, and eat when cold. They'll never be crisp, but they are very nice.
I think your problem is NOT eating ENOUGH. As a man, who isn't sedentary, your body is saying flipping heck mate, we need more than that!! Best up efficiency mode or we'll be starving here. So goes into "starvation" modeI am reading the posts to get some idea on snacks, I dont like anything sweet, never liked it and I see a lot of you guys have 80 percent dark choc or something.

That s great news. You deserve to treat yourself. Shame you've a whole week of school nights before you can celebrateWill post meals later but jyst wanted to share as pleased as punch. Just back from drs after getting my blood results.
Hba1c maintained at 40, so pleased, didnt think i'd done as well in the last 6 months as i had in the first 6 since diagnosis.
Cholesterol 3.6 despite all those extra eggs.
Having been under a kidney consultant for 15 years for asymptomatic proteinurea and therefore considered higher risk for complications from the diabetes, all my kidney function tests were in the normal range. If it wasnt a school night i would open that bottle of plonk in the fridge.
I find lchf hard sometimes so nice to see the work paying off x
Evenin' All
Today I have gluttonously gorged to decadent excess. It has been delightful.
B: bacon, sausage, scram eggs, tea (the only low point of the day, it should be coffee at breakfast!)
S: the coffeencream that should have happened earlier
L: lamb stew with a bright green herby dumpling and some tiny salady garnish thing
D: homemade beef burger, cheese and caramelised onion, with broccoli and green beans, with butter, followed by berries, double cream and a choc coyo.
I am currently sprawled, barely able to move, with a cuppa tea within reach, but I don't think I can even fit in a sip of it.
Sheer, indulgent sensory overload.
And the best bit? The dumpling was the only off piste intake, and therefore insignificant.
AND I have walked for miles today, so I have a virtuous glow AS WELL.
I am so pleased with myself I may just burst.
Anyone for a 'wafer thin mint?'![]()

None of these - provided at our monthly office health and safety meeting today!
Thank you for that handy hint Sable...Use the drier then you won't need to iron at all. I believe electricity consumption works out less plus you have time to do other things
My husband entirely agrees, says it's a glass too far and insisted I don't do it this year... phew....Don't do lent, and I think we are all giving up enough 24/7 anyhow![]()
Try it my dear... it's lush.... trust me...I don't understand Bullet Proof coffee, besides it sounding quite disgusting whisking butter into coffee (or coconut oil)![]()
