What is the best fast food to eat?

Patch, how would you increase the satfat level then ?

and I take it you are happy with the vino ?

I wouldn't increase it - I wouldn't deep fry my bacon... Not for any fear of fat, just because I don't really deep fry. I probably should, though...

If you really wanted to increase the fat, you could just add mayo or cheese - but why spoil bacon with any extras, eh?

Red wine is a winner with me, mate!

**** good thinking Patch, drizzle the bacon in melted cheese !

WOW, I'm now off to the kitchen, bacon and cheese in one hand ,bottle of red in the other !

Frier on standby ...

Yoba rays on !

If im having any kind of takeaway I go for an Indian with no naan or rice, popadums seem to be ok. Or I'll have a kebab with no pitta.

All this talk of take away has made me decide to treat myself tonigh.

Chicken Tikka Saag Madras Hot it is.

I've just been down town and bought half a cooked chicken ( £1.50 ! ) and I am going to cut the breast into strips and then wrap them with streaky bacon, toothpick them, run through an egg wash, then deep fry and then coat in melted cheese !

Any other suggestions welcome.....

Madras is my limit, Superchip. I can eat hotter - but choose not to because of the repurcussions... If you know what I mean...

Oh yes Patch, A good Curry with a decent red plus metformin does not bear thinking about !!!

How about curried streaky bacon done in the style of my last recipe ?
with additional cream a la borofergie ?

I think that I am hallucinating now !

Nearly time for the pub ! Hic

SouthernGeneral,

In answer to your question, I do not think that any fast food, meaning street food, is easy to evaluate.
In our situation we have to consider a lot of issues, such as , where did this ( chicken ? ) come from, what additives have been used etc.
Can you tell me the full nutritional breakdown of contents.
This coating on the fast food, what is in it ? Try asking that after the pubs turn out !

You ask a good question, I suspect not too many people will want to answer with the truth.....

Hell yes.

What do you deep fry in? I've considered getting a deep fat fryer for a while - and I'd like to try cooking in coconut oil. The coconut oil would solidify when the fryer cooled down, though. Not a problem, I think? I'd just need to know how often to change the coconut oil...

you can add Subway to the list of diabetic friendly fast food places... they do a salad option where you choose the filling of your "sub" and they make it into a salad replacing the bread with lettuce and other salad veggies.

I had a very nice BMT salad with diet cola for £3.00 today...

Having tried these things on myself and tested afterwards I am able to report that KFC is harmless providing it has bones in it. Avoid the reconstituted type of boneless offerings since you don't know where they have been. The fries are a problem and one of their little paper bags full should be regarded as the absolute max or better still just eat a few .....or none.

Tesco do salads in a plastic box at the fresh food counter and they are pretty nice and harmless. They also do chicken portions in the cooked meats section and of course if you have a deli then the cooked hot chicken in a bag can get the juices going.
