What was your bg reading last night and this morning?

5.7 last night
6.2 this morning

Annoying that it goes up. But it is to do with bad sleep and stress. Nevertheless morning number is lower than recent days. So not too unhappy.

Last night dinner- Fish and salad!

I woke up with 6.2 - 6.3 and rest of the day has been in high 5s... with low going to 5.1. I haven’t seen such a low number for a while .

Question : Does reusing a lancet affect reading from maybe tiny bits of blood left from previous use???

33.4!

That will be a rogue strip then lol. Never seen one so high.

Then a 6.7 because I was stressed lol and finally settled at 5.4 which is more like I was expecting.

I use the same lancet for about a week. Some people go longer. I dont think it affects readings . The lancet can sometimes become blunt which can hurt more

Tbh the same thing has gone through my mind when using new strips and lancets and I see a number that surpises me. Do you test your strips with testing solution when starting new strips?

hmmm not sure what a testing solution is... i don’t live in UK... so some terms / processes are unfamiliar. I don’t do any testing with new strips.. i just start using them!!

last night before bed : 5.5. One of the lowest readings in a while.

6.3 this morning. Not bad and not unhappy but was expecting (hoping rather!) that it would be below 6!!! But alas...

Anyway Sunday.... so probably some chores, some garden maintenance, some shopping.

And a lot of cleaning up of the house. yesterday we were expecting 10 teenage boys based on our son’s brief... but as it turns out we had over 20 teenagers !!!! we had to double the pizza order but it was fun... i was pleasantly surprised at how nice the kids were... they actually cleaned up the kitchen and dining area ....

hope everyone has a great Sunday

A testing solution is used to test the functioning of your glucose meter. You use a drop of it and test for the result and compare it to the values specified by your monitor manufacturer. These solutions should be very cheap, but like test strips can be rather expensive. I find that its far better to compare the results of lab tests by my Sick Fund or Insurance company. ie I take my monitor and test at the same time as the laboratory technician. So far the agreements in results have been excellent.
By the way I use the lancet for ages, even when they hurt a bit, strange behaviour i know as I have hundreds of new ones in my house.
Re results, I always record in my notes if I have started a new box of strips, once I even used to record its batch number, not anymore as it seems that my monitor has a pretty good record of performance. Hope this helps.
