I guess I will need to ring up to see if it is worth going. Pretty sure they will have something to say about my high cholesterol readings but tough.
Rhyia it's your eye screening the staff are there to do the test & provide you with the support you are entitled to mention your concerns they should put you at ease...your diabetes review is separate & whether to have your eye screening is not dependent on your results it's merely to see if there have been any changes to your eyes/vision...don't feel anxious if this is your first I can understand some level of anxiety but overall it really is nothing to worry about...good luck I'm sure you'll be fine.

So today I think I played a blinder by restricting Julie to just the 2 of these Springador puppies. May not feel so pleased with myself when they chew all and sundry - collect them next weekend. Just in time for builder to start on the kitchen. Julie says it will be fine. I've been watching Hyacinth Bucket lately and empathise with Richard and Mr K of Norfolk.

Improvement due to earlier dinner, I think.
Puppies are sweet, kittens even more so. Would really enjoy a pet, but it's just not practical atm, so am gradually making friends with an extremely nervous local stray.
Have started priming the bedroom and barthroom. Unfortunately having gone all round the edges and corners, ready for roller application, it turned out that the second 50l can of paint is a different shade of white. I may have to go round again.
Still stewing a bit on the upsetting news.
Sunny morning, MrSlim more or less out of action with bad back, yesterday he insisted on plastering, which is heavy work, involving a lot of stretching and bending. Managed not to say i told you not to do it, or similar. But there are times when he is too stubborn for his own good.
Beautiful sunny morning with 80% chance of rain later. Nothing new there then.

I have been to one previously after diagnosis, (different location), not only did they do and eye screening test which I found completely ok, but they also tested my feet which was a surprise and sent me through to see a dietician - the script kiddie one I mentioned. They also wanted a urine sample. Just wasn't sure of the extent of the screening this time round. Anyway, just spoken to the receptionist at the screening clinic. No urine sample required, they are not bothered about not having a recent blood test and it does look as if it is only an eye and foot test so all good to go. Would have felt awful if I had had to cancel at this late stage. Had a very thorough opticians appointment less than a month ago when told back of eyes were very healthy so hopefully tomorrow will hold no surprises Thankyou for your encouragement. Cx.

It's so difficult to find your feet initially however it does all fit into place after the first few reviews/appointments...I want to be involved in my continuing care & now make sure I ask the right questions if you have any make a list...I would often forget in the heat of the moment what I wanted to say...you'll be fine.

Been watching Crufts on and off all weekend. Dennis has enjoyed it too, especially the excited barks from the agility and flyballing competitors. It was too much this evening and he nodded off before the endView attachment 39227

Apparently it has been discovered that if you have a certain gene you can drink loads of coffee and the caffeine doesn't affect you. I think I must have that gene and so must my sister. I would have loved your Cafe Sumatra.

I worked with someone who would be climbing the walls after only one cup of coffee. He had to avoid coffee completely because even one cup caused palpitations.
I'm of the caffeine intolerant number sadly. Used to drink black coffee all the time then changed to decaf now only have a coffee very rarely.

Yes, I wont tag bulkbiker and jim layey but I have a lot to thank them for, as they encouraged me not get stressed about my cholesterol, when DN was threatening me with the consequences of not going on statins, Never ever had problems with high cholesterol prior to low carb but apparently I am a hyper responder and I was losing weight at the time of the last test.

Hugs and good wishes for your review. :)
I can't do low carb because of high cholesterol. I'm glad you didn't tag them; this is such a peaceful, friendly, non-argumentative thread. Please let's keep it this way! :)

Just for you PM...View attachment 39232 View attachment 39233

I often see pheasants on the road flattened or in a perilous situation they are incredibly beautiful birds to feed or not I have no idea...I did have a quick look for information but much related to keeping & feeding for game.
Lovely photos thanks, very sweet. The pheasant continues to knock on the patio doors and its really sad, poor thing.

@gennepher Thank you for posting your blue paintings. I like them both, especially the A4 one -- I was interested to read about the results of painting on the shinier side of the card.
You made me curious about the granulation medium so I Googled it and found a video that has closed captioning.

You and Popeye are such a good team. You could write stories and I bet they would be bestsellers.

What a dilemma poor bird pheasants always feed from the ground...maybe it been turned loose now the feeding season is over think it usually ends in Feb it's probably starving.

Thanks Saskia he really is stunningly beautiful but I cant get close enough to take a photo. He doesnt appear unwell but I just worry about him pecking on the glass door. I have now pulled the curtains on the door as since its sunny he might be seeing a reflction of himself and think it is another pheasant. The girls wont bother him they are just curiously watching through the window.

It is so interesting how different we all are. There is no - one size fits all. Did you suddenly get caffeine intolerant - or were you always intolerant and hadn't realised it was the caffeine.

I was wheat intolerant for years and years but didn't realise that it was the wheat causing gut issues.

Ran out of time this morning so am late posting fbs. It was 5.8. I am actually happy with that as I had way to much protein and other stuff. A huge piece of lambs liver and bacon with cabbage stir fried in butter. It was so delicious.

I had a really hungry day and had rather too much Montezuma 100% with almond butter. Then before bed had the munchies again and had even more. Lots more.

Was expecting much higher fbs so got away with it this time. Don't often go overboard with food and I rather enjoyed it. Today am feeling really full and not very hungry so am back to normal.

Weighed this morning and have lost 2lb - that is the cutting down on the cream. I don't really want to lose weight so will need to keep an eye on it.
