@Ryhia I agree with @ianpspurs that you seem to be doing very well and should feel proud with what you are achieving. Don't worry about your review and remember you can say no and in my opinion should to any offer of Statins. Remember what @OldButBold said when offered a trial, he had been on a trial for two years, not taking them.

My Health Centre are always pushing Statins and Metformin even though they can see I am now Pre Diabetic with Cholesterol at 6.2, high yes but on last test good stuff was up. My HbA1c is done every 3 months but I have to remind the health centre, they never contact me.

Inspired by a very wet afternoon and my love of Wales and slate, we have slate rockery and walls in our garden, I have started a painting of slate fences in a winter setting, here is how far I have got today, fence very ghostly at the moment, will post this in instalments to show progress. A4 wet on wet large 2 inch brush, mister and tubed watercolour for a stronger pigment. So far about 20 minutes.

My cholesterol was 6.7 up from 4.8 three months before. Trigs were 1.3 and HDL also 1.3. But I possibly made a mistake as I fasted for 24 hours before the test so not sure if that messed up the results. It will be interesting to see what happens. Must remember to wash my feet as well as my hands, maybe need a longer song to sing;)

5.4. Not bad considering I met up with a friend from Australia (Sydney) and spent 7 hours in the pub wating and drinking! Prosecco x 2, red wine x 2. Steak, peppercorn sauce with salad and halloumi fries. Coffee and cream to finish. Lovely way to spend a Sunday.

Today dentist, wobbly wisdom tooth extraction. Out as quick as a flash! No pain. Right as rain. Hair appointment. Then shopping for wallpaper. Too many to choose from! Even if there was only 2 I would struggle! Chili con carne with cauli rice for dinner. All prepared (well all you do is throw in a wok!!!).

Hope you are enjoying your Monday :)

After a glorious sunny morning, it's now cold and wet again. On my Muddy Cycle ride saw some blossom trees lit by the sun against the dark rain clouds movingg in from the West, a quick watercolour A5 size 15 minutes to paint, about 10 minutes masking out the trees and waiting for the fluid to dry before painting began.

@gennepher what a busy night you had, hugs for that, but winner for two pieces of art like the first very much. Hugs for shopping experience. I have to ask what ever happened to concern, care, love and respect? It's all very sad and frightening and a poor reflection on society. I was surprised by the empty shelves at our local Tesco. One thought I had was OK buy all the soap and sanatisers BUT remember you also need other people, those who have been denied soap and sanatisers by selfish actions, to also be washing their hands or it all falls apart.

Today I had two emails from Scotland. When we did the road trip on the West Coast we left details with a few business who's craft or art we were interested in. These emails spell out the worry and concern they have regarding no tourists, usually from April things start to get busy but figures and bookings are showing tourism is not going to be huge and they think it highly likely it won't pickup until maybe June if at all. Both businesses fear they will cease trading and loose their lively hood. I have to state these were not begging emails but matter of fact informative emails keeping past customers and interested parties informed. Some hard times ahead I fear.

Hi @Muddy Cyclist
Thank you for the compliments.
I love your painting. Is that blackthorn?
So springlike and full of hope.

We need hope. But it does seem a bit like every person out for themselves as regards buying everything possible up.

A lot of small businesses and craft places are going to go under if all this continues. I feel sorry for them because they have put everything in to their livelihood. And there is the possibility it could all come crashing down. Adaptability is the key in any situation, but this Covid-19 and its knock on effects are devastating.

@gennepher I am sorry to hear of your very fraught shopping trip. The supermarkets shouldnt need the Government tell them to limit essentials per customer. They are just lapping up the extra sales it would seem and couldnt care less about who gets left without. Its very poor and not community spirited. I wish I could help you in some practical way. I hope by the end of the week stocks are resumed. Try not to worry. Bobs & Daisy are pleased Popeye is sorted :cat:
Thank you @PenguinMum
Cat had to be sorted first.
Popeye says he will share his yoghurt sticks with Bobs and Daisy :cat:
I hope you are having a good day.

Morning All. 6.1 so down slightly. As I said yesterday whether I am in good 5s or bad 6s it does stick, I was like this after Christmas and yesterday’s food was spot on.
Some lovely photos @ianpspurs the new puppies are adorable how could you choose but glad you got two. @DJC3 Dennis and you look very lived up watching Crufts, who knows what new tricks he will start didplaying. @gennepher that as an exhausting account of getting your painting done, so thanks you for it. Lovely like the sketch pad especially the darker tree in the middle. @HarryBeau I wasn't able to download your pic of Harry and Charlie but glad they are getting on. I’m sure Lola will catch up soon.
I have a very beautiful pheasant circling my garden all of yesterday and woke me up this morning knocking on my patio doors. I dont know why the poor thing seems to be in distress. I know they dont fly unless they have to and when the cats got close yesterday he did fly up on the potting shed roof. I really dont know what to donsince he is a wild animal so have put some wild bird seed and a bowl of water out for him but maybe thats the wrong thing to do. Any POLITE suggestions or knowledge sharing welcome please.
Have a great Monday everyone. Stay well, stay safe. Hugs to All.

He would probably do something highly embarrassing like the funny little Best in Show Dachshund yesterday who had a poo in the middle of his lap of honour. Made us laugh a lot.
I don’t have any suggestions ( polite or otherwise) about the poor pheasant. I’m sure he will disappear in his own time though. We had a homing pigeon which stayed in our garden for a few days, got its strength back then flew away again.
Glad your fbg has started to come down again. It’s so frustrating when you’re doing everything right.

Brilliant reading and great that you feel able to post again. Have you beetled off searching for loo roll?
https://www.tiktok.com/@harkdog123/video/6800271492811689222 Apparently very popular among teenagers in Aus - parody on campaign against online piracy.

I’ll be dipping in and out for a few weeks yet I expect, thanks for the thoughts. It’s the sort of situation which makes me glad we’ve moved closer to the family so can help out and support when needed - just like you with your gang.
Amazingly loo roll is still in the shelves here, certainly in the local Coop but maybe it’s because their customers are mainly older people who come in with a shopping bag or shopping trolley ( tartan of course) so they can’t buy much at once.

Thats very funny about the dachshund, embarrassing but hey. I think Dennie is very clever and I think he might have picked up some more clever ideas. Mr Fuzz as I am calling him is beautiful but disturbed and I dont know what to do since he is a wild animal. Today my heart gave in and I left some wild bird feed out which later was gone.
If you like animals you try to be kind but maybe I am not doing the right thng!

It can be hard to know what to do for our wild kin. Sounds like you did the right thing with the wild bird food. Does he have access to water in your garden?

Well I’ve left him a bowl of water but I dont know whether to encorage him to stay or if he would be better to fend for himself. For the time being I will support him.

I agree, it’s hard to know what to do isn’t it? Like leaving milk out for hedgehogs which their digestive system can’t cope with, or bread for birds in spring which swells in the gullets of chicks and chokes them. I should think wild bird seed for Mr Fuzz would be a good idea though, and I’m sure he was very grateful.
