Its dry today, but might not last, have been out using my new bag of compost for parsley, basil and thyme. All of which had outgrown their tiny pots. There are tomatoes which need larger pots too and cucumber plants. Peppers and Chilli peppers, was planning another pot of 18 day radish, the last lot were really good. There is not going to be enough compost to go round. Dont really fancy trying to fetch more. Unless I investigate the back way. Its a longer route, but quieter roads. Or they will be quieter once lockdown ends. Need a bag of compost for two, or three large tomato plants. Seems better to do a lot of smaller plants. There are already three tomato plants in the largest pots.
8.30pm where did the day go? Just had lovely long chat with MrSlim, really hungry so i ate the two chicken thighs that were to be dinner, while on the phone, Dont want to cook now - Had a huge chunk of cheese. Not really a meal. In the end did oven chips. Shock!! horror!! and two fried eggs. BG before the chips was 5.3. We shall see what we shall see, As my mother used to say.
Any one like to take on the task of reminding me to check at one hour and two . My phone timer is awful. Nearly always stops before time is up.

Just out of interest our dog Moet needs his yearly inoculations so phoned vet who informed us they can't fit us in until June. We were concerned as we have missed the date before and had to have a complete new start involving three vet visits which is much more expensive than the one annual boost. We were informed the Vet College have said there is no problem up to 15 months after the date inoculation was due and Kennels will accept certificates up to 15 months after the date on last certificate. Complicated but stay with me.
So 12months (length of time between inoculation) + 15 months acceptable time after the due boost inoculation = 27 months. So as vets are saying your dog is safe and vet college is not concerned about dogs getting flu, kennel cough and such Over 27 months why do we normally have to have our dog boosted every year and not every two years, also in the past why have we paid a heavier price when we have gone over the 12 months by more than a month?
I fear money has been driving the 12 month booster and will continue to do so once we are in the new normal.
Sorry rant over.

Know the feeling, I make sure that on a Sunday I wear something a little bit smarter than I wear during the week just so that I have a marker to count back to.I was stood at the front door at 8 O'Clock waiting to start clapping and cheering for the NHS thinking where is everybody when the wife gently reminded me it is Wednesday not Thursday I mean how was I to know I through the calendar in the bin weeks ago.

7.10am FBG 5.3 After last nights surprisingly low reading had thought it might be less. Oh well, thats the number this am.
Glorious sunshine. I will be finding outside jobs to do today. Trouble with that is there is lot of pottering, weeding, trimmimg, tidying that is not on the list, but is just general maintainance, but neccessary and enjoyable all the same.
My next door neighbour came round last night and checked the traps. we have caught another mole. but, there are new molehills both sides of the garden, so traps have been reset. It might be time to mow the wild area behind the shed, the orchids are almost over, they have a very long flowering season and I am starting to think it might be difficult to do. MrSlim usually strims through, before we start mowing, but the huge strimmer. is too heavy for me to use.
Deliberately mow slowly and watch for movement in the grass ahead. Sometimes unexpected creatures to be rescued. Last week was a very small toad.
Probably should take the rubbish today, before it gets hot. Thats the place to start. That and pick salad leaves for lunch.

Stunning photos @SlimLizzy you are truly blessed to live in such surroundings albeit with so much work needed to maintain the beauty. @dunelm I love that music and the colours but for me hills and deep water are best far away and in photographs. That sequence was just enough experience of that for me. I clearly like my beauty tamed but both amazing reminders of the beauty and variety of creation. Thank you both so much.07-05-2020
