What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Just looked at the weather forecast for the week up there - rain every day lol! Good excuse maybe to spend more time in the hotel bars sampling the whisky, Mr C enjoys a wee dram so he’ll be happy whatever the weather.
Hello @DJC3 . Gardeners are desperate for rain down here on the Coast. Less than 12mm in the past three weeks. No rain forecast in the next seven days. I'll empty my water butt this weekend and then it's mains water, which is not great for plants(?) or our society at large. Enjoy your holiday. Hope you escape the midges.

OH took a tumble in the the week and bashed herself up so she is on light duties for a while.
Sorry to hear that Trick...tumbles sound quite innocuous but they can give you some nasty injuries plus a real shake up...hope she is resting up & feels better soon.

Beautiful examples geeful...I'm afraid I no longer have the patience for delicate patterns & tend to knit off the cuff now...years ago I made this Humpty Dumpty jumper for my niece...her mother kept it and thirty + years later I renovated it (as best I could) and gave it to her daughter...this is Isabelle wearing it thirty+ years after her mother first wore it.

Morning...tired after yesterdays exertions in Leicester...having said that it was a pleasant drive...wonderful scenery...finished work by 16:00 & home by 17:30...I do enjoy driving but yesterday found myself more tired & intolerant than usual hadn't slept well the night before...several drivers pottering along at 35 mph in the national speed limit zone for most of the non motorway roads ...tiresome really...thankfully it wasn't long before I got back on the A1 (M)… woke to a 6.5...I'll take that chocolate before bed...oops!

Good morning folks, 5.3 on the dice this lovely morning, shopping mowing and cooking are lined up for me today, OH took a tumble in the the week and bashed herself up so she is on light duties for a while.
Have a good weekend all.
You don't need a hug but Mrs Trick clearly does.

Thanks, Debandez. We seem to be spending much of our time at the hospital and when home are exhausted so, like yourself, haven't had a lot of time or energy to update. Besides which mum is not too well. She now has a kidney infection. I didn't really want to post negative news. It's not what people want to hear. Also, as we've been eating our evening meal in the hospital cafe I haven't been testing! I did well at first with meals such as cauliflower cheese/ salad etc but the last 2 days the meals have been heavy on carbs so not good! This morning a relative has visited mum to give us a break so I can eat my main meal at home before we go to the hospital this afternoon and eat a snack for tea whilst we are there. I hope you are getting along OK with your busy schedule and are soon able to get some rest!

On that day it was not so much of a peaceful retreat I got blathered there.

It was the first time I had been there and I was lucky it was peaceful...
Rule 1...go when there are no tourists around
Rule 2...go on a Friday when all the other tourists are entering the Gateway to Wales, and they have gridlocked the Expressway and won’t be visiting anywhere
Rule 3...how to get there when the main roads gridlocked with tourists? Well, ask Sat Nav to take you by the most circuitous route imaginable, and it will oblige with a very imaginative route.
Rule 4 ...or have a collection of old ordnance survey maps, and these might take you through another time dimension....I use old maps....

So I got a peaceful retreat...on a bit of a hazy day...

All the best for your surgery; trying the get the horses to drink. It’s a slow walk sometimes and thinking about that pearls before swines saying, it is sometimes difficult for a newly enlightened pig to recall that she/he has seen a pearl in the past but did not know what it was.

We stayed over night in the friary and they had a bit of a celebration and of course we had to join in,there were friars there from around the globe.

It’d be nice if you could get the western Scottish weather for a week and maybe we could have your sun. Doubt that’ll happenthough. I understand about the waterbutts, ours always seem to be either overflowing or bone dry - never a happy medium.
We are well prepared for midges with a plenty of the Avon Skin so Soft moisturiser which is apparently a good deterrent, and also a home made essential oil concoction which @DCUKMod swears by. Fingers crossed.

Am not feeling to great today yesterday was a bit of a calamity I managed to cut my self on a dining-room chair just brushed against it with my arm and took a fair bit of skin off skin is so thin and fragile, upset Judith by getting blood all over the floor and my clothes today it is very sore.

And when I went to bed I found one of my toes was black thought that's odd as had just that morning had my monthly bath. Wasn't dirt just one big bruise have not a clue how it happened.

So not having one of my best Saturdays.

That sounds really interesting....riveting....but not a peaceful retreat....

My son tried to keep us away from the action maybe he thought I would disgrace my self but they were a great bunch of guy's and kept filling our glasses and we had a great time they were posting a photo of Judith on their web sites world wide as a new mother of the order it seems as now my son has several hundred brothers our family has grown somewhat in scope.

Take care today young man. Sounds as though Friday was a day best forgotten but sadly it left reminders.

Take care John...we all have our clumsy days..I know I do! Hope it heals quickly.
