What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The clouds are now parting here, to reveal blue skies!
Which means my paperwork will stay a while longer, in a huge pile. I promised myself I would tackle it when we got a rainy day, and we’ve not had a rainy day since beginning of March...
 
5.3 when I woke at 4.30am - 5.6 at 6.30am when I got up. Undecided over which number I should choose as my fasting blood sugar.

Had breakfast, now drinking coffee - then dog walk and highlight of the week - off to the farm to get milk and eggs.
 
Good morning chums, chumettes and sundry non binary, self identifying as sticks of rhubarb, members. Fbg of 5.2 showed on my phone app. Frankly, I'm beginning to think it could have been any number. I need considerably more bandwith to process today. Rogation day, St Dunstan's day and 34 years since No 1 son was born. Never before or since has anything come close to the joy and release of holding him in the delivery room. Psalm 127 V 4 in today's readings - not sure bg control has any place in my world today. Today's Govt briefing - comms sharpened considerably.

7.40am FBG 4.8 very surprising as had late night snacks of yoghurt and raspberries. woke 6am, then alarm got me up 7.30am.
MrSlim left for UK one month ago.
Day was not entirely wasted on tech. Managed to get a few more little bits of clearing up done. More importantly, from an emtional point of view. Back on the TO DO list. Only a couple of small jobs ticked off, but it feels like progress.

Thanks to all for helpful suggestions about photos yesterday, my phone is currently uploading to the cloud, i think, via the Android App suggested by @Alien Aspie thanks a lot for that idea. Next challenge: Access the photos in the cloud.

Here is another techy question for you all, Please dont groan. Does anyone know how to personalise a ringtone/alert ? My grandaughter has recently, literally yesterday, started to use email and i would like to know when mail is from her, without multiple alerts for other stuff.

Thanks for the good wishes and congratulations on both fbg and getting back on the TO DO list. My hunch is the boost to the emotions more than offset the snackaroonies. Enjoy the day and maybe figure out a sensible place in the Grand Scheme for the TO DO list.
 
Good morning everyone from a damp yet promising start to the day in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of of home made satay chicken on a bed of even more satay chicken came in at 5.2 this am

Yesterday was not so much a great blooming, buzzing confusion Mr James, rather the difference between goal-directed and accidental actions. Searching on the interweb starts off all very goal-directed but invariably more interesting topics join in and chimp dives into a distracting rabbit hole. Oh well. I did at least find a decent tutorial on how to cut hair before diving in with the cutlery.

Yesterday’s conference call with 5 year old Little Miss Pamplemousse include being informed that falling asleep in the sun can result in getting sun-scrape (??), inspecting her pea growing project and singing along to Harry Belafonte - Jump in de line, rock your body in time, OK, I believe you!

Pastel painting for today's daily painting challenge.

Took an hour and a half. Found some proper Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper in the garage. Various colours. This sheet is a grey. There were some other colours. About 12 years old. I had been going to do some portraits using pastel pencils. I did one. It was good, but it took me an awful long time to achieve it. So, I never did any more.

Anyway, it is a dull day outside, though it is pleasantly warm. No breeze.

Sat on the thatched swing to do the pastel, but I did notice those blinking blackbirds have made a hole in the thatch on the front of the swing to steal their nesting material...

I used a little photo cutting to work from. These are the colours of a sunset, from what I remember when J and I watched the sun go down, over the Dee towards Wales from West Kirby. But this isn't that view.

Sitting on my thatched swing, swinging away with cat Popeye's protective cage next to me.

Then suddenly the black and white feral cat, that attacked Popeye several times before came round the corner. Before I could react to scare it away, the feral cat looked in horror at a cat (Popeye) in a cage. Popeye is sitting there all serene knowing nothing can harm him while he is in this cage (!?!). Feral cat turned round and ran....

Popeye looks at me with a 'See I told you I was safe in here'.

I never leave him unattended. And so he feels safe and secure. He has improved a lot, back to what he was before those vicious attacks on him by that feral cat.

And this is a pic of him.



If Popeye wants a treat, he puts his paw through the cage on to the treat bag next to him. If he needs a drink of water or the cat tray, again he puts his paw through the bars but on to that orange cushion, and I take him out immediately and put him in the bungalow to do what he needs, then moments later he is back to the bungalow glass door, and I let him back out into the cage again.

I am rocking on the swing the entire time, that is my morning exercise! And he enjoys that. He is watching the birds in my garden. The birds know they are safe. A little sparrow came to the Fuschia bush in front of the cage to take a look at him. Then a blue tit was hopping around on the ground in front of him. Popeye quite happily watched them. The nesting blackbirds in front of me are flying back and forth on their urgent mission to feed their young.

This is paradise....

Around midday (about now) to 1pm, Popeye wants to move to the potting shed. So he looks at me, and then miaows at me. I check the feral cat is not about. Let Popeye out of the cage and he walks up that path to the potting shed where food and water and a choice of several beds awaits him. And I move my paraphernalia there as well.

You can see the female blackbird having a snack on that path...

Morning...exciting times I could have done without here this morning...an appointment with anti-coagulation clinic this morning had to be cancelled...poor Lola was unwell so a consultation with the vet on the phone & an appointment...the good news she has a minor infection suspect it's her & Charlie who play like no holds barred WWE wrestlers...home now just paid the bill I expect we'll be on cheese and crackers for the next couple of weeks...nurses kit on ready to give the meds I shall need double garden gloves Lola looks so sweet & demure until she has to do something she'd rather not...woke to a 6.5 & I need more coffee!
 
Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and all who struggle to maintain some semblance of normality, tip I gave up on that years ago. Life is now much more fun.

Today's readings, yes plural or if you wish two readings.
First reading fasting 4.9 whoops, not good for me.
Second reading after a black no sugar koffy and some exercise 6.7??? Work that one out. Now running on no insulin.

Well folks I hope your day is progressing nicely and the weather deities are looking kindly on you. I do and the rest of me's like the paintings that are posted, please keep posting them, when I was undergoing my education art was secondary to safe breaking, car stealing and other useful skills, but it doesn't stop me appreciating your talents.
 
I have not managed to finish my watercolour, sorry! Mountain Bike ride with SIL was a little over 4 hours, you just can't waste such a wonderful day, views to north Staffordshire were stunning today and the heathland offered such dry conditions and was a perfect delight, then the ride home along the Mill race 2 miles of Marsh Marigolds, Iris, Red Campion, Hawthorn and the smell of Lilac. Then the afternoon in the garden in such Mediterranean warmth, a perfect day.

I did make an effort but Garden, coffee, sun and wine just prevented progress as you can see, I even had to sit in a shady part of the garden as it was so hot.

Maybe finish it Wednesday after OAP forage at Tesco....


@gennepher thats a good strong pastel, I reckon that Canson Paper must have been a joy to work on fro. The result you achieved.
