Yep, thats a fine candle. I can imagine that it was very fidly. My painting for today in Procreate following the candle tutorial.
Obviously I fail miserably compared to @Alien Aspie
Three quarters of an hour later...
My version of a candle (that's my excuse...), but I did learn a lot, and I know how to improve for next time.
And I do need to follow more of these mini tutorials.
And I need to create some more colour palettes.
My candle...

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist for you kind comments. I enjoyed doing it although it took a few sessionsThat's a cracking piece of digital art, reminded me of Tuscany early morning with the hill villages popping their heads above the early morning mist. Sit back and recover from your sublime yet crazy week with youngsters.
Super duper outcrop, fabulouse sky colours - do like how you give depth to the treesMy day will get busyfrom now on, lunch to cook so I painted Plein Air yesterday evening for today. This is the view from the front of our house that faces two Sandstone Outcrops with Oak Trees, I liked the colours in the sky which changed very quickly as I painted.. A4 watercolour about 15 minutes... oh I did miss out about a dozen houses that would be in the foreground, can't paint buildings.....

Art bit -
these new brushes are going to take some getting used to, the new brush is a better quality than the one which is balding and holds more water.
today's offering - this was sitting on the cabinet looking handsome so I thought, why not

Good Morning and 5.9 for me today.
Daughter, SIL and youngest granddaughter are arriving for lunch and afternoon walk so that will be lovely.
Make the most of your day. Keep Safe.
Thank you @geefull - smashing green pepper - looks like it needs stuffing with something and roasting. Brushes need running in I suppose - I have just got a couple of new Chinese brushes and they are still a bit stiff even after a couple of soakings.good evening all
4.4 this morning
a quietish day today, started off really bright then the chilly wind arrived with the rain. there was a calmer, brighter period mid afternoon so mr gee and I got our walk inIt was pleasant in the sun but nippy when the sun went behind the clouds.
Just pondering fabric ready for making some more masks since it looks like we will be needing them for a while yetI have some stretchy jersey that will probably do a simple mask quite well and will add a pocket inside so the filtration can be boosted mr gee prefers the pleated type which fit his beard inside better.
We know when his beard needs trimming because he emerges from a mask wearing session with a beard that curls up at the end like a persian slipper
Hope your day is treating you kindly
@dunelm - that's a lovely, spacious feeling view of the wooded hill above the clouds
@gennepher - I find your flame painting very effective, it reminds me of the candle flame when it's just been lit as it warms to full brightness
@Muddy Cyclist - another lovely sketch, the sky is very descriptive and the tree line has real depth, I do like the skies we get this time of year

Lovely walk into the forest, I do enjoy the idea of quick, free flowing sketches.Fbg 6.5
Looks like the sun may come out, and I want to get out there in the garden.
So, I gave myself 15 minutes to do a sketch in ZenBrush2, like @Muddy Cyclist does his quick and very effective watercolour plain air sketches. I was also thinking of @dunelm 's misty sort of sketch yesterday.
Set the timer, and began.
Having fun, then looked at timer. I need to get a move on...
All the while I am thinking of the candle I did yesterday in Procreate from the You Tube tutorial and the techniques and brush strokes involved, and the layers and purposes of them. And how I could apply all these to this quick sketch I am doing now.
Popeye came over, put his paw on the iPad screen. I stroked him, saw that the timer said that's it, then it vibrated...
So, Snapseed then for frame and name.
I don't do preliminary sketches. I never have done. I just dive in to doing the finished painting. This is a new experience for me doing a quick sketch as a possible idea for a finished painting.
