What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Enjoy them, you deserve it. Talking of enjoyment, I don't see why I would be expected to enjoy LC food as it is effectively a treatment. I didn't expect to enjoy chemicals being injected via Mr Floppy I just wanted it to work.
I think I am really lucky (actually incredibly lucky) that although I initially absolutely detested the low carb food - after the first year I began to like it and the longer I stayed on it the more it became a thing of delight that I really really enjoyed rather than something I had to endure for the sake of my health.

The pavements were packed solid. People greeting each other, hugging each other. No social distancing. None in the shops either. Cash tills back to opening up next to each other, so you are a foot away from the person queuing at the till next to you.

I am looked upon with suspicion again. I preferred it when at least a few people wear masks.
@gennepher that is truly shocking. What on earth are they thinking of. The virus definitely hasn't gone away - yet they are acting as though it has.

I will say one thing about wearing a mask all the time (even in February and March) when I have been out since even before lockdown began, is that I haven't caught any bugs or viruses at all. I do have a compromised immune system, and I normally have caught a few bugs and viruses in this time that have laid me very low. Masks do work.
That is very interesting. I agree - masks definitely do work.

good evening all :)

4.2 yesterday and 4.2 this morning

voluteering day yesterday so we were quite tired when we got home, then discovered we had a tap that wouldn't turn off :( at least it was one of the cold taps ;)
mr gee and I spent most of the evening trying to stem the flow. mr gee had to go searching in his shed for bits and pieces of tap to try to fix it. This is a bit like the equivalent of a trek through the jungle by the look of it :hilarious: I got to be gofer and brew coffee and tea and make dinner.

Over to mum's today, mr gee shampooed the living room carpet and I cleaned out the fridge and titivated the downstairs shower room ;)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@Krystyna23040 - yay for the recovery :joyful:

@jjraak - bon voyage :)

@Muddy Cyclist - you are correct, I didn't post yesterday, two for the price of one today then ;)
You amaze me every day with your art, beautiful and well observed sketches both of those, I learn something from you every day :joyful:

@gennepher - I like the sketch of Popeye, particularly his sly side eye at the little furry creature :D your bird is very fluid and effective and the plum blossom you've given your butterfly is lovely.

@JohnEGreen - I enjoyed the photos ;) and I send hugs to your mrs. burns are not fun.

@dunelm - interesting quick sketch of the crags and the tree is strong, you always manage to place them in space well :)

@Alien Aspie - glad breathing is easier for you. I like the flame art very much and that snack, how well you know us :D

art bit -
brushes and sketch books have arrived this morning :) at mr gee's suggestion I have also bought a 1 inch pointed oval brush, the idea is to try being a bit freer and less of a fiddler (which I'm very inclined to be). I'm going to have a few goes at the zen brush style I think ;)
I admire all of you for the 'quick' sketches you achieve, it takes me ages to get anything down on paper usually.

no 1 is a bit of a sketch done in mum's garden, there is a pot of aquillegias and primroses which are dying down now, perhaps at some stage I'll use it as the basis of a pen and wash drawing, the colours in the leaves are currently interesting. Took me about 15-20 mins with breaks for tea drinking :hilarious:

There are LC foods I enjoy - principally salad with avocado in a tangy vinaigrette and green veg. I can't eat "the keto way" and don't achieve any decent level of bg management. A fair summary of my woe would be a huge daily salad with some form of protein and a few other bits and pieces. My journey has been almost opposite to yours. Enjoyed it to start with, probably due to weight loss and bg coming down. Now I'm pretty disillusioned with it as it is not very effective for me IMHO.

Thank you for your compliments on my painting, I am humbled that you learn from it, thank you.

Today you have given us a fine pencil sketch and superb watercolour with so much depth, the light on the hills and detail in the foreground are done in your own style which I enjoy and think works extremely well. Enjoy your new equipment.

But you have stuck with it - even though you don't enjoy it anymore - which I think is highly commendable.

Could I have done the same - actually I don't think I have the strength of character to stick with low carb if didn't enjoy it. When I did not enjoy low carb I had to scare myself with the Panorama programme to stick with it.

Good Morning and 5.6 for me today.

Looks fine outside. Visitors for lunch in garden if the weather holds and then a stroll.

Take care, keep safe.

Good morning Tombliboos. A little expiation is in order from me. My lot is not at all onerous and my management of T2 has held this condition at bay for over 5 years along with significant weight loss. As an example, today's fbg of 5.3 via Stabbo is ok but displeases me or leaves me uneasy. It feels too high as does 75.3 kgs which, at about 6 foot tall, is fine. Add in the good news on the treatment of my bladder issues and I have much for which to be thankful. I know all that. It is the "feel" of LC and the outcomes being wholly sub-optimal that drive my feelings about this. For me this isn't the all singing, all dancing life enhancing cure all the success stories make out - it is ok as far as it goes.. No more no less.

Fbg 7.1

Slept later today.
Been watching the sunrise, blue skies and dramatic clouds.
It's now clouding over. The trees are all waving their branches madly and battering each other.

I shall attempt @Alien Aspie 's video on the candle flame in a bit.

Take care
Have fun

Thank you for your comments. A nice sketch of aquillegias and primroses and then a really good mountain scene showing great depth and colour choices. I particularly liked how you detailed the foreshore with your planting.

Good morning everyone from a very quiet and pleasantly sunny morning here in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of hake with pan roasted broccoli and a few podded beans came in at 4.7 this am

An uneventful trip down the motorway yesterday, delivering the ninky nonks back to their parents and then a quiet evening at home attempting to recover from a week of charging about like demented loons with not a care in the world.
Anoushka Shankar at the Proms on the Beeb last night, not sure about all the electronic accompaniment during the first half.

Hope everyone has a pleasant day whatever you have planned - I only have koffy planned - the rest of the day will unfold in it’s own good time (other times available, apart from that broadsheet nonsence).

Oh - clouds, hilltops and a few trees today

This is gorgeous @dunelm
I love it.
It's the kind of painting I would love to do...

5.0 this morning. We were really lazy and have got up late. Next week it is back to working Saturdays so no more relaxing mornings

Today I will be getting ready for Monday's start back to classes but am having one of those days where I just can't get going.

Bright blue skies so it is definitely a garden day, finish the path I think. First though, it's omelette time :)

A straight 6.0 this morning, enjoy the day ;)
