Morning...another exciting weekend I was determined to catch up on paperwork yesterday...made my coffee wandered into the living room noticed dripping water coming from the ceiling coving...steady at first then more vigorous called an emergency plumber who wanted either £150 for the job or a £100 per hour agreed he would arrive in 2/3 hours...turned off the water drained the tank & waited...in the meantime remembered my 'old' neighbour Sam called him and he could come straight away so cancelled the emergency plumber ...an hour later the leak was fixed for less than half the price of Mr Emergency so some positives...woke to a 6.9...keep safe everyone.
E-Hugs for your poor minister. He is trying hard.A zoom day today.
Zoom church this am...but its gone pear shaped the last twice.
And later our eldest is zooming us in the evening.
And hopefully a long call from our other daughter at York
Our minister cant get the hang of an open church with distancing and Zoom as well for the aging and sick!
It was worse at an ironing out practice tuesday evening when the gremlins in the machine threw everything at him!
We all were exercising much empathy.
When one's brain is in one's job as a 30 year old and body is in one's 80's, one is between the desire to help fix the problem and the desire not to die of Covid.
I am afraid reality won.
Another wet grass here in Cumbria.
Have a great day everyone

Your sketch is vibrant and full of energy @dunelmGood morning everyone from a day of unknowns in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of cold chicken and avocado with an over zealous splatter of sumac came in at 4.7 this am
Baking and shopping yesterday - but non necessarily in that order. Managed to fit in a couple of turns round the park at early o’clock. Video call with my pal who is in hospital in LA after falling from a ladder - broken ribs, bashed head and a mule kick to his spine - he is in a private hospital so I hope his insurance is OK. Anyhow, he seems to be in good spirits but his application for the position of circus acrobat has been refused.
Hope your Sunday is a good one, very quick sketch this morning as late up and off out after I have finished my koffy.

Good catchOne cool morning a few days ago a Southern Hawker dragonfly tried to catch the sun in the garden at breakfast View attachment 43786 so I took a quick pict.
Ouch. Must have worried you and Mrs JEG - Judith?. Talking of which, how is her burn?My fbg this AM was 5.0.
When we were discussing motor bikes some days ago I failed to mention
My grandsons bike is in the yard now a wreck Since he came off it and broke his neck.
Two fractured vertebra and a broken arm sustained so he is not sure now as to whether he wan'ts to rebuild it or not.

It did at the time I must add this was not that recent it was about a year or so back now but at the time an air lift to queens spinal unit was was considered but in the end was not necessary powerful Honda dirt bike youthful energy and a local field proved a very dangerous combination although thankfully I had insisted on protective clothing helmet and such so he was lucky could have been doing his degree in a wheelchair. The bike is in bits in the yard and as far as I'm concerned can stay that way though it was a lovely bike.Ouch. Must have worried you and Mrs JEG - Judith?. Talking of which, how is her burn?
Out on our walk today down to one of the other ponds and this little creature settled down on one of the benches a few feet away so I took a snap. One cool morning a few days ago a Southern Hawker dragonfly tried to catch the sun in the garden at breakfast View attachment 43786 so I took a quick pict.
I find it amazing amongst all that chaos of the second law, coherent engineering design arises with a TV transmitter mast like lattice in the wings.
Looks like a Ruddy Darter to me, John, but not my area of expertise.Out on our walk today down to one of the other ponds and this little creature settled down on one of the benches a few feet away so I took a snap.

Yes definitely a Ruddy Darter very common dragonfly lots of them about.Looks like a Ruddy Darter to me, John, but not my area of expertise.
The picture is showing well the darker small areas in the upper outer wings called the pterostigma, which are heavier than the other sections of wing and enable dragonflies to glide better.
