Thank you for your comments on my frosty painting.good evening all
4.9 today
Oh well, at least my eye is settling down a bit, it's still a bit sticky in the morning but not so sorelots of eye drops are helping, not as if you can nip into the health centre I got something in it the other day whilst we were out walking but I thought my tears had cleared it out at the time.
Heating oil delivery arrived today so that's OK
Flippin' cold here tonight, not as bad as the -7'C on Wednesday (so far anyway), but definitely cold, we've got the woodburner lit
Hope your day is treating you well
@lindisfel - lovely snowy photos, what a beautiful landscape. We woke to a little dusting this morning but there was about an inch at Mum's
@dogslife - good news that your mum is more settled
@gennepher - so good that you have found that friendly post office and shopour own little village shop/office is very friendly also, makes a big difference. Nice that you will be able to get a good range of stamps for your post-crossing friends.
I remember that years ago every little sorting office had it's own metal 'franking' stamp and people used to collect first day covers stamped on the day of issue from different locations. I provided cover for someone whilst they went on holiday and one of the most nerve wracking things I ever had to do was endorsing the first day covers ready for despatch
Lovely frosty dawn picture, it's not easy to capture that, it's very reminiscent of the one we had today
@dunelm - I confess I really like the hemp paper, adds a pleasing touch of texture, a lovely painting today with that contemplative figure taking the air, so detailed
@Muddy Cyclist - that's a great painting, a lovely frosty landscape, I paricularly like the way you have shot colour through the middle ground under the trees, very effective

no 1 - Since I missed a day, this is a quick sketch I did before Christmas with some new coloured pens I got from Home Bargains, saw them and thought I'd try them, they are very fine point and pleasingly, they are waterproofpack of ten colours for about £1.50 this sketch is about life sized.

Oh that is cold. Very well captured, really like thisInspired by @gennepher capturing the early frost in the painting today I went for a similar theme but easier to paint of Frost on pine trees on Cannock Chase...
A4 watercolour about 1 hour...

Fab - now Christmas is over, you get your Christmas scene - was it delivered by Hermes, they always mess things up?
Lovely pair of paintings - fabulous bauble - I wonder if you can replicate onto one? Snow over the Firth - I do like the way that you get the sky and the mountains in tune.good evening all

Tricky if that snow stays so hope it does melt over the weekend - perhaps think about sourcing some snow socks: https://www.snowchains.com/snow-soc...-6WaHe7aXC6OMytQbG37kip3C4s2259RoCyqUQAvD_BwEHi all,
Have a great day in almost total lock down.
Another very cold night here after temperature was below freezing all day yesterday.
Temperature probably below -6.0 now.
If this snow stays, it hasn't melted at all, it will be difficult getting up and down the drive when we need to.
Then there is mile and half to the main road.
After all these mild winters one gets caught out. I expect it to melt over the weekend.
Most of my rich neighbours have Chelsea tractors!
Will have to treat myself!
My little problems, its next wednesday when I hope to have my second jab I need to get out.
But I am thinking primarily of all the battles that are taking place in hospitals up and down this land and how bad it will be when the Christmas madness peak hits the hospitals with more deaths.
Science is doing its best and if we have a faith we look to our Source of strength for help. God help us.
D.

You get in an amazing amount of detail in such a small piece of paper @dunelmGood morning everyone from what promises to be a bright and rain free day in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of spiced whole roasted cauliflower with roasted cauliflower greens came in at 4.8 this am
A really wet day yesterday - all day rain, as much as you can take for one all in price and moving from heavy to monsoon but without the warmth. Meanwhile just a couple of miles up the road (and a bit higher up) snow plough in ditch. Granddaughter had anti-all-sorts injections yesterday - two in each leg - she is going to be little miss grumpy for a wee while.
Art today - unsized rice paper - about 8 x 6 inches. Hope everyone has a decent Saturday. Koffy time.
