What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Big bird looks good!

Morning Survivor team...

A spaghetti western inspired rebooted
"The Magnificent 7.3".

the original excellent, but tbh,
This isn't a patch on it.
None of the stars gimmicked in ala De Niro style.
Think local drama group, the morning after a wild new years eve party.

Though I do have to say, the Korean Glu-ko-C was a very convincing baddie, full of underlying menace.

Less the full on darth Vader in your face style, more the Hannibal lector, seemingly nice and friendly until you realise how much he likes liver
And other organs.

Watched it last month when it first previewed.
It was a step up from the oceans 13/12/11
I'd been viewing since my mishap at Xmas,
But what I wouldn't give for a rebooted Hawaii 5.0

Beautiful day here in the Capital, sun is shining with clear blue skies.
Highs of 13 Thingammies, which I'm told by one trained in such measures, is pretty warm for the time of year.

Have a good day all.

Great post @jjraak and the good times will return. Softly Softly - I liked John Watt. My resting pulse and weight were down with length of sleep and sleep quality up. Hard to link that definitively to no red meat or red wine but they do have form. Sunny Suffolk today. I feel bark chippings, lawn mowing and over seeding can't be far off. I like lawns and plenty of bark/mulch.

Just a quick share in a little victory

Small potatoes in the grand scheme of things,, So not ideal for a T2D ,

but I'm counting it as a WIN

For part of my physio I have been mainly utilising Painting...
Aka Jess fast show

Painting you say, how pleasant & refined.

Not that kind...
me?....

Painting & Decorating

Madam mentioned a refresh of the hallway, and before I knew it paints, brushes, etc were at the ready, and I was away.

Trouble is, freshen one bit, another looks dowdy.
Been meaning to swap a light fitting for ages.

Swapped it out yesterday.

Maybe shouldn't have, but it felt ok, a little more tiring and awkward up the ladder TBF, but done and feet & ankles only ache a bit.

So one more marker passed on my road back.

Our Steph was talking, and I explained my goal was to do all the things I normally did, AS normally as possible, as soon as practical.

So far,
Walking
Cooking
Scooter
Car
Stairs
Cycling
Decorating
ALL TICKED.

I still struggle getting low, so bottom of doors, etc not the best, will have to rub down in a few weeks and redo...but looking pretty good from where I'm standing

Hope everyones day has that bit of joy in.

Not been around for awhile had vaccination last Tuesday not a good reaction felt worse than when I actually had Covid . Ached from head to foot just like when you have flu high temp etc and I assume this had a knock on affect on my blood sugars all morning reading in double figures .

Ooh good link, softly softly
Not one I watched but I knew of it.

If we're on that theme Callan, with lonely.
Edward Woodward, glorious name.

Have to say if it's police, an unashamed Sweeney lover here..."Your Nicked " best phrase
Ever.

Though Gene Hunt, ashes to ashes, "come out with your hands up , armed B******* outside" runs it close.

Hugs for the aches.

Been lucky, Pfizer and neither missus or myself got any reaction.

Did read this, backs up the covid exacerbated hit.

Seems AZ hits jab one but not jab 2
Pfizer hits jab 2 not jab one
And previously having covid causes a bigger reaction.

Hope you're feeling better asap.

All moving along towards the winning post and collecting medals for crossing the line.
Potatoes - plan ahead - cook, cool, refrigerate overnight, re-heat - converts some of the starch (sugars) to resistant starch - so low carb spuds and good for your gut:
Read all about it: https://www.nutrition.org.uk/nutritionscience/nutrients-food-and-ingredients/resistant-starch.html

Yes felt much better after a day or so most of my colleagues had Pfizer but us stragglers ( I wasn't going to have the jab never have flu jabs but changed my mind ) we ended up with the Astra Zenica .I did wonder if my body reacted more strongly because I still had some antibodies left over from last year .

A run to Boots the penny chemists saw £50 leave the wallet for a new BG machine and a warranty claim for the other knackered one, so eventually nil charge. Also picked up other bits n bobs for travel.

Had a lunch of miso soup, Itsu sashimi and a dollop of creme fraîche with some berries...2 hours later sitting at 5.2mmol.

One of those itsy bitsy days but got some schtuff done nevertheless.

I imagine Gerald the cat will be doing this when I check in at home when I'm away...that boy will be ruling the roost if he can stay awake long enough!

Glad you're feeling better. AZ jab I had - dreadful 36 hours after the event, but it reverted to normal as quickly as it knocked me flat...I hear Pfizer has most of the side effects on the second jab - anecdotal evidence suggests that to be the case anyway...

Have managed to persuade Mrs BRS to have a Chinese dinner tonight; for me hot and sour soup followed by poached chicken in ginger broth, pak choy and Chinese greens; she gets crab and sweet corn soup, Szechuan hot chilli beef and egg fried rice plus spring rolls. Mine's better for the T2D but not as tasty as my faves ... Sigh..

Such graceful movement in your art drawing/painting today, finished or not that's a well captured Ballet Step.

If you need even more physioi have just purchased 15 litres of fence paint and it's waiting to be used, dry next week.

Busy day again, so only a started painting again. I had decided to do a series on places I have enjoyed over the years, this is supposed to be a Tuscan Landscape, I used to love the early morning watching the sun rise from the Holliday farms we rented and the mist quickly disappearing from the valleys. It may still go that way but I'm also feeling an English Lanscape I know well in Shropshire, we shall see.

A4 watercolour will finish Wednesday.
