Praying for a safe journey and return for you. Sid will be fine.Morning all!
FBG overnight was 5.9 so A-OK. Watched the 39 steps on iPlayer...baaad Scottish accents even from a young John Lawrie who went on to be Private Fraser in Dad's Army.
Awoke to find my airborne steed to the Far East will be departing tomorrow much earlier than expected so the journey starts from home in 2-3 hours as I'm staying in the adjacent hotel to Farnborough Airport overnight as we're off pretty much as soon as the airfield opens in the morning. 11hrs 30 mins in the air, 0430 arrival on Friday morning local.
Mrs BRS took Sid the Stinger out for a drive, sadly loves itI'll fret (only joking).
Got all my meds, Drs letters, negative Covid test, vaccination confirmation, loads of masks and schtuff plus a really bad attitude all packed and ready
Lots of clean underwear too lol! I remember those days when I went to Ibiza with nothing but swimming trunks and a couple of other things. Sigh. Gettinag old.
I'll be online from the train to Reading. Hanging about there for the train to Farnborough whete I'll sup a black coffee and watch the empty trains whizz by...
Hope all's well with you all!
Gorgeous cat picA run to Boots the penny chemists saw £50 leave the wallet for a new BG machine and a warranty claim for the other knackered one, so eventually nil charge. Also picked up other bits n bobs for travel.
Had a lunch of miso soup, Itsu sashimi and a dollop of creme fraîche with some berries...2 hours later sitting at 5.2mmol.
One of those itsy bitsy days but got some schtuff done nevertheless.
I imagine Gerald the cat will be doing this when I check in at home when I'm away...that boy will be ruling the roost if he can stay awake long enough! View attachment 47919
Here's wishing you a lucrative and trouble free trip. Keep safe.Morning all!

Typical of so much science, inconclusive results and much guess workIn the interests of science - one should always be guided by The Science - I carried out a carefully controlled experiment on your behalf. Having read how many of you are tempted to try "forbidden" but previously cherished foods I ate a hot cross bun. A richly fruited one from a supermarket which has partners. To my surpriseI found no unpleasantness or sugar rush, just intense pleasure - so no change since last year.. I will obviously repeat this next year, God willing, just to check on progress. Unable to comment on rise of bg as no Swipey. Julie recently mistakenly gave me her coffee with full sugar caramel syrup (lots) and Swipey went up and down rapidly to return to starting point (mid 4s) within 2 hrs, probably the same here. That's science done for today on your behalf. Other supermarkets - and science and truths - are available if you fancy experimenting yourself. Perhaps I should say should please don't try this at home
Yes, I agree, rain on plastic and glass is an OK sound. Rain on metal is much more intrusive.10.03.2021
7 30am FBG 5.6
Rain on the roof is fine, enjoyable even, but someone had the bright idea of installing metal windowledges. Dark grey metal might be more stylish than white upvc but rain dripping on them is loud and intrusive.
Rain on test match day is a national disgrace.Yes, I agree, rain on plastic and glass is an OK sound. Rain on metal is much more intrusive.
I would be interested to know if the same applies to bread. Have noticed that previously frozen bread does not have so much impact on BG.All moving along towards the winning post and collecting medals for crossing the line.
Potatoes - plan ahead - cook, cool, refrigerate overnight, re-heat - converts some of the starch (sugars) to resistant starch - so low carb spuds and good for your gut:

Mr K agrees with you 100%.Rain on test match day is a national disgrace.
Thanks @Muddy CyclistAm I missing some posts? I have not seen anything from @gennepher today I hope she is OK.
Scotland apparently also have a cricket squad. Who'd have thought?Rain on test match day is a national disgrace.
Delighted to hear all is well. Sending hugs from deepest Hampshire at the moment...Thanks @Muddy Cyclist
I had an important hospital appointment this morning. A distance away. I have been worrying about it the last few days. Terrified might be the right word. So, I didn't mention it on here. Had to get there very early to get a parking space. But the procedure went well. Drove home and got into bed with cat and electric blanket on.
All I want to do is sleep. I am fine, but just so tired. I couldn't even do a spare painting yesterday to post early this morning.
But I will create a painting later, no idea what. Will be back before midnight. I just need sleep.

Thank you! It's going to be an eye opener in this "new normal" that's for sure. Here's wishing you a lucrative and trouble free trip. Keep safe.
