What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

good evening all :)

4.4 yesterday and 4.3 today

quite a mixed day of rain and sharp showers, never seen so many rainbows in one day :)
I'm all out of whack, don't know how international travellers manage the time shifts, it takes me days to get used to the clocks changing by an hour :hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@gennepher two interesting and pleasing pictures from you again, the figure in the first looks challenging and enigmatic and the in the second rather wistful, although more hopeful with that lovely golden glow in the sky :)

@dunelm - a strikiing and fine picture of High Force, though the rope crawl sounds fiendish :sorry: and a beautiful tree with that hint of a mountain background, I do so admire your stroke control :joyful:

@BRSBRI - I'm very much enjoying the vicarious travelling experiences, thank you for sharing

@ianpspurs - interesting, I hadn't thought of using whey protein for breakfast like that (or as a drink) though I do use unflavoured and vanilla in my baking sometimes. I shall be interested in your feedback on how you feel it works for you :)

@Muddy Cyclist - I'm afraid I like it too ;) it's interesting that now you've completed it the palette feels rather cooler but still feels airy.

@lindisfel - today we saw a beautiful yellow hammer and what I think was a reed bunting in the garden :joyful:

art bit - my version of an image by an artist named Mike Ibbotson, I like his strong graphic style plus I wanted to try out my rigger brush ;)

Great,
I used to get Reed Buntings years ago but the local habitat for them was lost and they have not showed in reccent years.
A pair of Bullfinches came in today, they can be a problem removing buds from fruit trees, but my trees are not that important and our apple tree is very old and I dont mind them taking a few buds.
The birds in our gardens give us tremendous pleasure, geeful and I am sure we have a useful role keeping them alive when food is scarce.

It seems I have a bumblebee that cannot fly. I noticed him a few hours ago.
I put him on some flowers, but he wasn't interested in pollen stuff. I came back and he was still crawling all over the leaves of plants appearing to try to take off at the end of the leaf. But he didn't succeed. I left him a bit hoping he would disappear.

An hour later he is still trying...

So, I put him on my Huckleberry bush which is full of white scented flowers. No, he still did not want flowers preferring to walk over the leaves, and tumble, and climb again. He prefers climbing the yellow dead nettle, but it is not in flower yet.

I went out again an hour later and he is still trying to fly. So, I went to the kitchen and got a drop of honey and some cooled boiled water (why am I boiling water for a bumblebee?).

Not interested, he said.

So, I told Billy I would check in on him in the morning if he was still around. He keeps showing me his bottom, so I am not touching him with my fingers yet...

A few years ago I had Sophie, a little russet coloured bee. Sophie's wings were fused together. She couldn't fly. But she would spunkily climb up and down all my foxglove plants and disappear into the flowers for ages on end. Sophie would always come up to me, climb my bare legs, and I would hold her a bit in my hands, then put her back in her favourite foxglove flowers. Sophie lived for 5 weeks after I found her, and I always knew where Sophie was in my garden from the way she shook the plant stems when she climbed up them. I would sit on my thatched swing and watch Sophie. I found Sophie on her last day outside my bedroom door which leads into the garden. She had died in the night.

I shall see if Billy is still there in the morning. He has fixed himself under a leaf of the yellow dead nettle plant away from predators for the night (I presume). Maybe the sun tomorrow will help him.
It does you credit, gennepher, the compassion you show to animals.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, another hectic day here and there in TilehurstTowers.

A 6.0 this morning.

Misplaced my upstairs reading glasses yesterday and am totally flummoxed as where they are.
Now I must go and take medication using my downstairs reading glasses, I bet I forget myself and leave my downstairs glasses upstairs, then spend time I don't have wandering round downstairs looking for my downstairs glasses.

Remember the stay's and have a great day all.

Spec Problem solved......

Thank you, I did in the final stages decide to add a blue wash so thus the cooler feel. Iasnt sure it had benifited the painting.

Like the style and colours of your landscape, rigger brushes are my favourite brush these days, I often use them side on across the paper which is not how they are meant to be used.

Thank you @geefull for your kind comments. Interesting piece from you today, short shadows by the tree-line and then the long shaddows from the sun sitting behind the tree tops.

Good morning everyone on a songbird trilling morning here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of a couple of rare steaks wafted towards the griddle pan with some mushrooms, tomato and slow cooked onions came in at 4.6 this am

A smashing morning on the beach yesterday with the girl in the bubble. The tide was still on it’s outward journey and the sand still a bit damp. Nevertheless, an assisted march for about 80m before she decided that that was enough. Still not quite got the hang of smaller steps. Snacks and a flask of koffy sat on the flood wall steps watching a group of horses being exercised.

Today’s piece, not exactly how I thought it would end up but there it is. Hope that everyone enjoys the pomp and ceremony of the parade of the bin lorry today - if it’s not coming your way today, write, nay email your local parade representative. Koffy time.

Great art. Reminds me of Canada's terrain out west.

A strong mountain sunrise drawing from you today, lots of depth and nice colour washes. I do like the detail in the foreground wash.

Gosh yo breed em tuff up North. 80 mile assisted Beech walk by girl in the bubble, impressive.:)

As the old song goes, I've left on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again.

Departed a little earlier than projected, 4 hours into flight estimating Blighty I'm told in 8¼ hours from now - perhaps a touch sooner as we're cruising higher than conventional airliners and a touch faster I'm told at Mach 0.91.

Hamish or Wan as he is really known, waved me off up those stairs and I'm sure he waited as he said to watch the silver bird climb away into partially mottled skies turning on her heading taking me home.

FBG this morning was 7.0 - likely stress from last minute meetings and a fitful sleep. Slept deeply on board for 4 hours or so and have just eaten breakfast of eggs, smoked salmon, Greek yoghurt. Will stab the finger later...

Took the guys on the flight deck their coffees and managed to catch a 747 freighter underneath us powering on her way to Hong Kong I believe. The joys of non-commercial travel.

Hope all's well with all. I'll run through the postings in a mo! byeTaipei.jpgjumbo.jpg

I wish I was a twitcher...I have no clue about our feathered friends varieties at all. Some acquaintances are immersed in it and all the better for it too. Good stuff.

Good Morning and 5.8 for me today. Now that is a real surprise as Dinner yesterday evening ended up being a high carb affair, half a large baked potatoe, quiche of which I eat all the pastry and 5 bean salad in a wonderful olive oil and Dijon Mustard dressing. All these are off my list of foods I succumbed, long story and expected high BG. The obvious Conclusion eat LC get high BG eat high carb and get low BG. However I now have enough experience to now this ain't how it works, so I shall keep feeding Dracula in the hope of finding some answers.

Good day yesterday with cousin and his wife, sat in our garden for cupa. Felt strange but lifted the spirit and we covered many topics of conversation face to face, well not quite there was the social distancing.

Muddy Cycle ride today, ditching the Lycra tights and just risking shorts, could have cold knees. :)

Keep safe be gallant and bold.

Fab photo of 747, enjoy the trip.

Hope you have a safe journey home.
Just checking emails at 43000 feet.
The wonders of satellite technology!
Hope all well. The plane is amazing - if you like orange - it's like a super upmarket version of EasyJet...orange.jpg

5.2 this morning. The walk around Sheringham Park yesterday was absolutely lovely. There are no hills at all around our village so it was a real treat to walk around a hilly landscape. The sunlight filtering through the trees into the valleys was magical.

There is something about walking through trees that really recharges your batteries. The dogs also loved the walk - especially Archie who didn't stop smiling all the way round the park. So it was not only the humans who were fed up with only walking around our village - it was the dogs as well. They were so happy.
