Oh goodness Karen Sending hugs your way...In awe of all those who have to manage insulin...it did thanks jjraak,had a bit of a night of them lowest being 2.5,was very busy painting back of the house and fences should have lowered my basal insulin but didnt think i would do as much as i did,but all good now and i will be doing a lot less today xx

Departed a little earlier than projected, 4 hours into flight estimating Blighty I'm told in 8¼ hours from now - perhaps a touch sooner as we're cruising higher than conventional airliners and a touch faster I'm told at Mach 0.91.
Hamish or Wan as he is really known, waved me off up those stairs and I'm sure he waited as he said to watch the silver bird climb away into partially mottled skies turning on her heading taking me home.
FBG this morning was 7.0 - likely stress from last minute meetings and a fitful sleep. Slept deeply on board for 4 hours or so and have just eaten breakfast of eggs, smoked salmon, Greek yoghurt. Will stab the finger later...
Took the guys on the flight deck their coffees and managed to catch a 747 freighter underneath us powering on her way to Hong Kong I believe. The joys of non-commercial travel.

Cabin crew are 2 amazing ladies. Flight deck the same (one of whom is the Captain) and a bloke to keep me company who is the relief pilot. 6 of us in all speeding north west on a great circle...still catching time - 6 hours 40 is the latest estimate which they tell me will start to extend as they slow and descend, but still, pretty darned brill. Let's hope GWR is as good getting me home to be attacked by Gerald the catSmashing photo of the 747 - enjoy the flight and I hope that your cabin crew pay grade is as high as the flight path

4.4 yesterday and 4.3 today
quite a mixed day of rain and sharp showers, never seen so many rainbows in one day
I'm all out of whack, don't know how international travellers manage the time shifts, it takes me days to get used to the clocks changing by an hour

@gennepher two interesting and pleasing pictures from you again, the figure in the first looks challenging and enigmatic and the in the second rather wistful, although more hopeful with that lovely golden glow in the sky
@dunelm - a strikiing and fine picture of High Force, though the rope crawl sounds fiendishand a beautiful tree with that hint of a mountain background, I do so admire your stroke control

@ianpspurs - interesting, I hadn't thought of using whey protein for breakfast like that (or as a drink) though I do use unflavoured and vanilla in my baking sometimes. I shall be interested in your feedback on how you feel it works for you
@Muddy Cyclist - I'm afraid I like it tooit's interesting that now you've completed it the palette feels rather cooler but still feels airy.
@lindisfel - today we saw a beautiful yellow hammer and what I think was a reed bunting in the garden

Brilliant @BRSBRIWhen I reminded them about my diabetes they were horrified. What a lovely thought for tomorrow nevertheless by the crew. Gobsmacked. So, sharing it between the 5 of them with their coffee and me sipping a glass of fizzy wine instead...not quite pub opening hours in normal times unless it's a Wetherspoons of course...so justification in my head has occurred
Wan has emailed me and said "Haste ye Back". Only a few hours later... thousands of miles away heading for home. Still catching time...less than 6 hours from landing. We'll make UK landfall over Norfolk and descend cross country to deepest Hampshire from there.

The wonder wheel of a couple of rare steaks wafted towards the griddle pan with some mushrooms, tomato and slow cooked onions came in at 4.6 this am
A smashing morning on the beach yesterday with the girl in the bubble. The tide was still on it’s outward journey and the sand still a bit damp. Nevertheless, an assisted march for about 80m before she decided that that was enough. Still not quite got the hang of smaller steps. Snacks and a flask of koffy sat on the flood wall steps watching a group of horses being exercised.
Today’s piece, not exactly how I thought it would end up but there it is. Hope that everyone enjoys the pomp and ceremony of the parade of the bin lorry today - if it’s not coming your way today, write, nay email your local parade representative. Koffy time.
