What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thank you for this link. Reading it I realised that I had previously been prioritising energy over nutrition. As I have quite a small appetite it was so easy to use cream as a way to avoid my total daily calories dropping too low. Prioritising nutritious food and limiting non-nutritious food makes so much sense.

It has worked really well for me, even though I have never made the target of 1g of protein for every 1lb of ideal body weight - nor got my fat and carb grams lower than my protein grams. Probably due to continuing to eat the very nutritious avocados.

For me I actually don't think it matters as I want to build lean body mass and lose the last bit of visceral fat and it seems to be working well to address these issues.

4.9 this morning. Dare I say that maybe dawn phenomenon has finally 'bit the dust'. Of course I know that it is risky to post this as it might now decide to come back with a vengeance.

Thank you @geefull and will the defunct breadmaker now be replaced? The cropping decision has transformed your painting.

Good morning everyone from a so far overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Swedish meatballs and that sauce from a well know furniture outlet came in at 5.2 this am

Doorgate - after a sluggish start, stop, start - all new doors are now in situ. The oak ones downstairs will look after themselves apart from an annual slurp of teak oil or similar - upstairs however, there are pots of paint appearing and a bunch of brushes. Am I living in the Forth Bridge?

Art today - I found a small (6in x 6in) sample of tripple ply Xuan so dribbled some ink onto it and left it to dry - flowers then. Have a wonderful day if you can. I am already slurping koffy.

Yes, my relaxed take on the P.E. Diet is absolutely perfect for me.
I do agree that cropping your pictures worked really well.

Great stuff, this P.E. Diet is suiting you.
When I read the links to the P.E. Diet I knew it was the way forward for me but expected it would be a real struggle to eat a higher volume of food - but it hasn't turned out like that. Of course protein powder has made prioritising protein possible for me but I have actually even been able to increase my protein intake from real food as well.

Have also been much more inventive and adventurous about combining different ingredients and now actually enjoy my food much more than I have done for years and years.

Summer returns to Forest Heath for July the oneth - real bin day Limeys. Thursday - I don't wear makeup on Thursday. A sad old 5.3 on Swipey after red meat - Gourmet Kitchen burgers. They were cooked in my kitchen and certainly looked like the archetypal burger so I can't sue. Poorly granddaughter - temperature 38 at one point yesterday- here again but much better. Old fogies may have some skills. Cousin joining her soon, girls will be girls. Grandson to be collected from the melee at school gates which need enforcement officers apparently. Fine array of 4x4s abandoned all over. Good news on PE diet @Krystyna23040. I agree on avocados - I won't eat enough potassium any other way - and previous energy overload. I guess subliminally I wouldn't properly accept I no longer played team sport or teach any PE anymore so arrived at crunch point. Besides, I've never liked butter on veggies or other ideas I felt best suited to Foie gras geese -that's just me. Visceral fat? I imagine you to be oh so svelte. At 73-74 kgs I clearly need to lean down despite being comfortably <this implies. Summer of sport continues - sorry @alf_Josiah - pubs and supermarkets rejoice. Deep into Toy Story, floor littering and tea here. Take it Easy today- lyrics Tinkety Tonk Old Fruits.

where did my post go ? rewriting .
01-07
5.55am FBG 5.6
A bit early for me, but misread the time and was up dressed and outside before i realised how early it actually was. Bit late to go back to bed by then.
Misty and cool morning, Did an hours weeding, How is it weeds shoot up so fast? One day they appear as seedlings and suddenly they are knee high and taking over. Wish my vegetables grew like that.
No granola left and food processor is far too noisy to use so early, MrSlim is asleep directly above. Hmm maybe some disadvantages to the new bedroom arrangements.
Made some chorizo melts, Errant was most displeased with all this kitchen activity, he was expecting me to sit down with my coffee and invite him onto my lap. This is his usual morning routine, while i drink coffee and catch up with posts on my phone or laptop.
Checked and dont have all the ingredients to make grain free nut granola so off to the supermarket. Have decided to make a double size batch this time. apparently its going to be hot later... grass cutting and then touching up the stairwell are the possible activities for the day. After the shopping , bye.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen me and me's use those terms loosely.

A 6.1 this morning.

Here in Tilehurst Towers me and me's are bracing myself for the annual diabetic eye screening which seems to occur every 18 months and this afternoon Mrs J is getting her cloven hoof looked at by a chiropodist, this is the start of a medically intense 6 to 8 weeks. May you live in interesting times, here we seem to.

Remember the stays and have a great day.

Yes, those targets are far too challenging. I'm unlikely to ever reach 165-170 gms protein per day - just how much Fage 0%, chicken or salmon would that take? £s would also be an issue. I like your idea of a relaxed PE approach. Best I can do is something like the attached. 80 gms fat from 3 tbls EVO , 60 gms flaxseed and 30 mls double cream in coffee. Do I really want or need to bin those?

Thanks @geefull

A great crop from yourself. It works well.

Interesting stag beetle @SlimLizzy

A wonderful dribble with flowers added @dunelm

I need some help.

I had my first Pfizer jab February 8 2021
I got notified the night before by text from the NHS.
The letter didn't arrive until a couple of days later after the jab (the post was rubbish at the time).

I was told I had to wait until the nhs sent me an appointment for the second jab.
Nothing came. A friend phoned after 3 months, and was told I had to wait until the nhs sent me an appointment again. She tried again a month later, but couldn't get through.

I knew of others in this area who hadn't had the second jab some months later.

Finally, I said to myself, I will just go for the booster Covid jab when it is offered in the Autumn. because as far as I could understand, and what I have read, it might not be a good idea to have the second jab so far away from the first.

Yesterday, a letter came from the nhs.
When I opened it, it said, since you didn't take up our offer of the covid vaccination earlier in the year, we would like to offer it to you again, and it gave me a first appointment of the day one day next week for my first jab of the covid vaccine.but I have already had the first jab.

I checked my name and nhs number on both letters, and both are the same.

When I went for the first jab, in February, I took my drivers licence for ID, people checked my name against a list, then the next desk checked it against a list and checked drivers licence. Then something similar at a third desk, and then I waited and someone checked my name again against a printed list, then I waited for the jab, go into the booth where the nurse checked me in on a computer screen and she gave me the injection and gave me a card with name and number of Pfizer vaccine. Then I was directed to another computer desk where this guy entered stuff on the computer and looked at my driver's licence again. Then I was given a piece of paper with the time that I could leave after sitting down.

Despite all this checking and computer checking when I went, and had my first Covid jab, I get a letter over 5 months later that I have not attended nor had the first Covid jab.

So i check the scan thing on yesterday's letter, and go to my appointment for next week. But I find you cannot attend this appointment if you have had the first jab. It is not for the second jab. So I delve in further (no opportunity to contact a real person nor an email address). Anyway I find a way to alter it to the second jab. But this takes me to more stuff where i have to sign and confirm that it is more than 8 weeks after I had the first covid jab. And it also says I have to attend the same place as where I had the first covid jab. So i confirm it will be. And so i change my appointment they have allocated me from being a first jab to it being my second jab.

To be honest i thought some automatic stuff might kick in with the booking system, to say they have no record of my first jab, but nothing.

What I would like your help with, if you would be so kind, is could you write down some questions I need to ask when I in next week, like..
Is it safe to have the 2nd jab more than 5 months after the first...
Do I need two jabs again because it has been so long from the first so the second jab will be ineffective...

By the way, on the booking site, it said in Autumn you would get both the flu jab and the booster Covid jab together at the same appointment.

I have the disadvantage of them being behind masks when speaking to me and i will have no idea of what they are saying to me. I cannot lipread through a mask. So I would like to try and pre empt questions, by writing them down on a piece of paper and handling the paper to them.

I have Popeye not well today, and I cannot spread my brain any further to think of this...he is my priority today. And his girlfriend just turned up with an injured paw ( the owners of her are not in, no cars there), so I have just examined her paw (she let me even though it hurt her), cleaned it up and put cat antiseptic, on the sore bit that she seems to have been biting. But the paw is swollen and she needs more than I can give her.

Popeye's breathing is very shallow, but the day is very warm and airless this afternoon, he has fans on him and a damp towel. He has done this before on airless days, then he revives to being okay when the evening gets colder (though we are having weird weather where it continues getting warmer throughout the evening). I now have a humidifier going, and a mister of fine water. I need them as well.

Morening
I would guess any jab is better than no jab, with all my complicated conditons ALL the doctors say get the jab. As you are well aware me and me's are no friends of sanity, but I would guess the advice given to me is good for you.

Sorry to read about your cat Popeye hope he makes a swift recovery.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and html coding gremlins.

A 6.8 this morning ( Friday ) on that meter of mystery and unpredictability.

Have a great day all and stay safe, stay well, stay apart and avoid the media.

4.6 this morning. Am shortly on a zoom course this morning so the morning has been rather hectic so far.

Good morning Twirly Woos. My fbg may well have been 5.2 or thereabouts - meh. Not quite a steaming pile of wombat doo but a miss is as good as a mile. Forum down so multiple posts I see. @gennepher hug for Popeye and jab mystery. As the @alf_Josiah 's say (scary agreeing with that crowd) I'd go and ask the questions you posted but that's just me. Me and Mr Tumble are in sole charge of a 2 year old just now - Tinkety Tonk Old Fruits
