What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

4.9 this morning. Mr K took the dogs out for their walk early so as to avoid the forecast rain and to give me the chance to relax as yesterday was really busy. Actually, I really appreciated being able to have a really relaxed start to the day.

The rain has started in earnest now. The weather is so changeable at the moment.

For anyone who hasn't seen this Gareth Southgate's Dear England letter is a fair summary of why his chaps seem to function as a unified entity for good as opposed to - well, you know my views. Worth a share and read before tomorrow IMHO.

Read that the other and thought how impressive he was...and has been

Have to wonder and wish he'd been our PM, and Johnson the England manager.

We all Could have lived much easier that way around.

There is no avoiding the message of this ditty. Create a society obsessed with being consumers with rights but no responsibility - agency - I'm a tax payer solve my problems/you work for me and mine, not everyone attitude - and you end up with this mess.

Morning teamsters.

Best reading in a while..6.1

Dinner early, a mince Bolognese type thing, made from scratch..delicious
Courghetti for the Win.

Seeing the upcoming D- day.
Javid saying could be 100,000 cases a day.

Now admittedly, it COULD be a milder version for many, that's still going to leave more then a few struggling after .

We might be the lucky ones,
Having taken stock at DX, I think we're all more aware of our health

I'd say most will take good care & not just trust to luck.

But this could be a disturbing point for many younger ones in the coming months..

Yep - teach the children well

Hi Ian,
It was interesting hearing the two women Oxford researchers who came up with A.Z. vaccine this am.
They were asked, if as Doris said, I paraphase... it needed the thrust of the capitalist system to come up with this life saving treatment?

Nothing could have been further from the truth for these two women, it was a desire to free humanity from the plague and save lives, that is why the rest of the world are being supplied at low low cost.

Morning, all!

Yesterday was a rough day, numbers wise - allergies were demanding to be seen, heard, and felt in every area of my life. My fasting was over 200!!!

But, today is another day - and onward we go.....

Fasting @ 7:15am - 130/139

Unusually, The Odious One may not have been as careful with the truth as one would like. Sadly, no one voted for him because he tells the truth. I'm not sure I care for what trickles down from him either.

Hi Ian,
I read the quote again, it was at an end of term Zoom session. He was quoted as saying it was capitalism and greed created the vaccine. So I think if true it was
actually worse as you point out.

Fbg 6.7

It was pouring with rain this morning....and when I got to the vaccination centre, there was over a hundred people already waiting for the 8.30 appointment! A few people motioned me forwards in to queue to in front of them, then a few more, until finally I was at the front of the queue. That was so sweet of them.

Then it all did move quickly. So I got seen to at 8.35.

I had to go to a different person because mine was second jab (and all these appointments were for people's first jabs) and that's why I got out so quickly! For some reason the nurse said mistakes were made and I was not on the system, she did apologise, but because I had my vaccination card with the vaccination number they could check on the system that it was 8 Feb that it had been administered. And the nurse that jabbed me made sure it was all on the computer system this time and I got a new card to say I have had both jabs.

My digital painting for today...

Your art today is a hoot Popeye. Seems as though, rain apart, your human's jab went as well as it could. She must be relieved.

Oh dear, poor Fitbit
And
Oh dear, poor Girl in the Bubble...

I like your painting @dunelm it has a lot of depth...

Glad that your visit for your second jab went well - so many kind people. The owls are gathering, love their feet. Will Popeye be able to get them both into the pea green boat?

It appears as though no amount of swearing at goal seek in Excel can give an answer we, the great unwashed, want to hear for potential hospitalisations and deaths from the Twist (alternative words available) or Bust gambit - sorry Firebreak. One hopes the NHS have been warned and given appropriate resources but whatever it takes now means something entirely new. How do your daughter and her colleagues feel about this?
