What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Oh my. The fruitcakes heads - yes Mr Bone and co - will explode with all this. I love the idea of that lot trying to deal with a highly successful woke gal. The living embodiment of everything they hate and are desperate to destroy. Young, female, multi cultural, athletic, clever, role model, taken seriously in the USA Cancel culture will be out in full. Meltdown BTL in The Torygraph. Bonus ball would be if she took the knee and advocated GLBTQ?

Several extremely busy days.
On Friday we attended the final rendezvous
In the long and stressful bureaucratic process of our residency application. Unfortunately the day before MrSlim discovered a discrepency between various sources of information which meant we were missing a vital piece of paper with no possible way to get it, even at a later date.
The emotional impact was huge.
If our application is reduced we could be
told to leave, perhaps in only a few weeks, with no return permitted for three months.
I have never seen MrSlim so stressed.
After an hours drive and a twenty minute wait, his fingerprints are recorded and MrSlim is instructed to send by email a recent french bank statement to replace the missing tax return. Then it is my turn.
All is well until I have to admit I don't have a French bank account. We have tried and failed to add me to MrSlims account.
M'elle explains it must be a joint account.
"Will an English joint account do?"
"But of course Madame"
She hands us a slip of paper with her own email, send to me here. "
Later that day after a marathon editing session and ignoring all the system pleas for tut to be translated, the email gets sent.
We should receive our official confirmation of residency within the month.
After that a nice relaxing visit to the hospital to get my antibiotics. Arrived at lunchtime but was still seen after only ten mins. As my confirmation carte vitale letter arrived two days ago only had to pay 20%.
Total contrast to my mother's recent experience in UK where she and my sister waited fifteen hours, while an equal number of ambulances queued outside.

It is a topsy turvy world @SlimLizzy
My reaction to the first bit was B***** H***
But you turned the tables.
The NHS here has gone to pot...
Hugs for all this stress.
Take care...

Thank you @ianpspurs, he came 4th in the juniors

I think that Nanny London would enjoy the trip, once she is stronger. You can hire a mobility scooter from Felbrigg hall so you wouldn't have to transport it in your RR. I agree though that it would be a long day for a frail 91 year old.

We had a lovely day walking through the woods at Felbrigg Hall.

great that Nanny London is improving. Hope you enjoyed your pike fishing.

5.1 this morning. Food for the day packed up so only the dog walk and more coffee before I leave for work. I have actually got a good break today so will walk to Notcutts garden centre for a coffee or two.

Good morning chums. Today is a Lesser Festival for John Chrysostom who "is known for his preaching and public speaking, his denunciation of abuse of authority[7] by both ecclesiastical and political leaders, his fanatical anti-Semitism " - sounds pretty woke to me Also for remembering Ben P who died this day in 1916. I have his medals and the framed letter "from the King." @Krystyna23040 good scheduling, enjoy Notcutts. Thanks for the information on mobility scooter hire. I had an amazing day yesterday, including an outward journey through Norwich - sorted the route home. Lunch was at The White Horse Neatishead - very good food (GF salt and pepper whitebait, Caesar salad minus croutons) Malbec, brandy and coffee - with cream, natch. The fishing was at Barton Turf - first time in my life I have been on The Broads. Boat owner/guide was excoriating about "people" (I cleaned it up) being let loose with huge boats after 5 mins being told where the basic controls are = deaths. He needs full captain's licence apparently. Swipey's asleep just now due to be woken about Thursday evening after eye screening. Laters crew.

Good to be custodian of family history and remembering their sacrifices. How did the fishing go? Our eldest son was carp fishing last week - 3 days, not a bite - “it’s far too sunny for the carp.”

Good morning everyone from a late start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of camping leftovers came in at 5.3 this am

The dispersal of the campers yesterday - saying goodbyes to so many people takes an hour it seems. I counted 4 camper vans, 2 caravans, one trailer tent and 2 tents (order of poshness not included) with one of the campers and one of the caravans taking in stragglers. A couple of families came just for the day - one lot drove down from Northumberland! We will have to do it again but perhaps not this year. The camper van crews seem to be out quite a lot and two of them were heading for Scotland. Mind you, for the outlay on such vehicles, you do need to make the most of it.

Not sure what we are doing today but Mrs Miggins did state quite firmly last night that she was having a lay in. Her usual waking time is about 10 so probably will be hibernating till the noon gong sounds.

A bit more than a sketch in a tent this morning, have a wonderful day if you can. I have finished my koffy.

Your weekend sounds very successful and do let Mrs Miggins have a nap. Spiffing tree and well done Mr Pickle. The water was a touch warm for pike quoth the Cap't, October would have been better but scheduling issues. No 2 son was in Cromer this weekend so no extra 6 hr drive and my birthday was in June. No 1 son, the fisherman and organiser, caught one. Guide had sonar and moved around to where Pike were on the screen. I reckon they were on twitter/instagram/tiktok- whatevs saying let's mess these abaat lads. lads, lads.

5.7 today.

Sadly got the news yesterday that Brother Ambrose at Adrian's friary passed away he was a lovely gentleman in his nineties. I had met him a few times and liked him very much. It seems he was born one street over from the friary in Oxford was baptized in the attached church became the parish priest there for a number of years and has passed at the friary peacefully in his sleep and his funeral service will be held in the church there. So his life story began and ended in the same place. I find that touching.

Adrian it seems is on the move again a friary in Ireland has requested he come there for about a a year he will be acting as formator? and as they are repurposing their land there a few hundred acres into organic farming he will be training in farming while there in County Donegal he his quite happy about that as he really liked living in Ireland before.

How sad. Father Ambrose's life sounds amazing and dedicated to God. He clearly touched your life so rest in peace Father Ambrose. The opportunity for Adrian sounds like a gift of grace and growth. Peace be with you.

Absolutely brilliant. You are amazing @dunelm

Hugs for the sad news @JohnEGreen
It seems Brother Ambrose had led a fulfilled life coming to a complete circle...

Cat woke me in the night. Thunderstorm. Heavy rain. So, then I couldn't sleep after I had settled him. And did my painting on the iPad which kindly ran out of battery before I could post, And then I fell asleep at dawn, and woke up just now. I did have plans, but they will be for another day now...

This was a pastel painting I started in the app iPastel, but was taking me far too long, so I put it in Snapseed and played with it a little, and this is what I got.

Had coffee and tea, but head says have another sleep, which I shall promptly do...
