What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Worrying indeed. Thoughts and prayers with you and Lauren.

Hope all goes well

Hello friends,

Yesterday fbg was 6.3 and today 6.2. No idea why in the 6s. Could he anxiety...

Hope everyone has a great day

Hope all goes well
Cheers @alf_Josiah

Travels began at 12:30

Have now progressed to 2nd A&E of the Day.

On the conveyor belt to being seen to service broken bits, but no expectations it will be soon .

Chairs not the most comfortable at either,
And both busy, busy busy .

Sat for around four hours at each
All with various levels of mask compliance.
And the gentle cacophony of coughs, all obviously "cold init, misteh... covid is so fake, dontcha know"

I muse they think, while sitting in my own little private, non covid bubble.

If I get through this hospital visit unscathed I'll
Be buying a lottery ticket.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Brilliant ink and water @dunelm
Yes, always practice by copying the masters, something I need to get back to...

Oh flipping heck @jjraak
Hugs x

Hugs
Hugs
And more gentle hugs @jjraak

I'll be joining you in buying that lottery ticket after the day I had at hospital yesterday...
It was bedlam in an apocalyptic movie...
A friend I emailed as my day progressed, said stop thinking apocalypse, it's not like that at all. I haven't replied to her yet, but the beginning of it is going to go, 'Get out of your little sleepy Welsh town and see what life is really like in a city hospital in covid times...'

Those nurses and everyone who work there must be at more than breaking point. I am sure you found the same. I hope your day worked out and you returned safe and sound.

I will be back in a few hours....when I've warmed up...

Very late post
6.40am FBG 5.2
The hospital are doing further tests. Dad is not improving as he should.

Aw, @SlimLizzy .

What a torrid time for you all

So distressing.

He & you will be in my thoughts & prayers this morning ≤prayers >

Aw, @gennepher i know, you know I feel the pain.
Hope all the efforts bear the right fruit.
A well deserved effort on your Part, Indeed.

What saves the moment, as I'm sure you noticed, is the Decency of so many others also suffering, to lend a hand, offer a cheerful smile or wink or that call for the attention of a nurse to one who can't do so successfully for themselves.

And not forgetting the nurses, run ragged, working many hours over allotted times.

Be so easy (and understandable ) to forget we are people as well as patients, yet who still reach out and touch us with seemingly the simplest of gestures, that makes the wait & frustration more bearable.

As for me, like the baby Jesus, no room at the Inn, sadly .

A longish chair wait, with the hint of a bed towards the dawn, for much needed ZZzz's.

need iron wear seeing to in my arm and most likely removed in a dawn raid.

Returning home, to simply return in AM, seems churlish in the extreme

Awake refreshed, Genn, tomorrow is a new day.

And remember " it could be YOU"
If isn't ME.

5.0 this morning. Sisters sons have been staying with her to support her during this sad time. One has now tested positive.

Sister is negative but will isolate for 7 days to keep everyone safe.

Difficult start to the day reading posts from @SlimLizzy @gennepher @Krystyna23040 and last one yesterday from @Jojo85. Very tempting to cup one's head in one's hands and scream where is the love? @jjraak nails it eloquently

Where is The love? - it is there, right there and it is nothing short of a miracle. Out of all the endless possible reactions people so often chose those and no one seems surprised.
MIL is 92 today but in September she was in the same situation as your dad @SlimLizzy. No two situations are ever the same but there are always examples of hope. @Krystyna23040 how awful but maybe useful for your sister to have her sons there and have one to care for - in a COVID secure way- to help occupy the mind and help heal the wound slightly. @gennepher and @jjraak your stories of life in hospitals unnerves me slightly with upcoming appointments but echoes everything close family involved in the NHS have been saying throughout the whole COVID business, Y'all don't need to go reading the bible or pray just do as @jjraak saw and you've covered everything important IMHO. Swipey's still waiting for my MOTs - first one today.

What an indictment of the destructive impact wrought by That Loathsome Creature who tries to bend that as "riding out the storm" when he means "I reckon I'll get away with no leadership challenge so you just grin and bear it". You, me and everyone else are just so much collateral damage in a game he is playing. Take care and accept my thoughts and prayers.
