What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hope so Krystyna never have liked being dependent on medication, I’m a nightmare patient oh forgot to mention my feet and ankle swelling has finally gone down I had been elevating my legs but obviously not above the waist. A nurse at the clinic told me it’s all about the elevation so hubby put two pillows under my legs and a cushion upto my knees has I got into bed two nights of this elevation and no more swollen feet and ankles. Great now all I have to deal with is dry eye problems and hope it doesn’t deteriorate to detatched retina but I’m very hopeful it won’t happen fingers crossed . K
 
Thought I’d update you on great grandsons Chickpox are on the way out and Jaxs can finally have a belated 2nd Birthday party tomorrow Wonderful don’t expect it will do my BG any good but the little mite deserves a good Birthday it was cancelled last year on his 1st Birthday because of Covid. So looking forward to a family get together watch this space on Monday morning when I test my BG K

Like the cake smash description and the Compulsory for Grandparents to indulge themselves!!! We definitely will Can’t wait to see him it’s difficult with his parents both working and Jax in nursery, wish we were younger we would help out but due to Covid he’s seen so little of us I don’t think he would settle with us he cries if anyone of his parents leaves the room momentarily, it would be too much of a wrench to have him all day.
We have said we could take him on a day out when weather picks up to Chester Zoo he would love that and hopefully not notice his Mum and Dad were missing we are going to offer after Easter. Long time since I changed a nappy or amused a young child for any length of time. It will give his Mum and Dad some time together without concentrating on Jax we all need Me Time don’t we my mum was a wonderful grandma Covid has robbed us of so much we need to get back to some form of normality for our sanities sake. Enjoy what’s left of a truly miserable days weather. K
 
Good that elevating your legs higher has worked.

When lockdown started and I moved all my classes onto Zoom I was peering really closely at the screen for hours at a time trying to make sure that my classes were doing the exercises correctly. I didn't realise that I stopped blinking and it led to dry eye problems. It is proving really hard to get back to normal blinking. I am slowly getting there and the dry eye problems are a lot better but I have to really work at it.
 
I go to finally see the doctor next week should have been regarding my swollen feet but I’m going to ask about what I can do regarding dry eye has I’ve already had cataract surgery on both eyes some years ago. I have some eye drops boots optition advised I bought but I’m coming to an end of this I need to find out what is happening with the back of my eyes has Boots diagnosed the problem with a list of symptoms I need to look out for and get myself to A&E ASAP if I have any one of them.
Life’s a rollercoaster but I have a lot of places to see and things to do can’t let things get in the way LIFE IS FOR LIVING. K
 
You definitely need to get back of eye issues sorted - so it is good that you are seeing the doctor next week.

Saturday fbg at 5am was 5.2, Sunday fbg at 8.30am was 4.9
I had my nieces 7th birthday yesterday, we took her to the movies and cut her a cake. She wanted a tie dye themed birthday. Oh how I wish I was a kid again lol
@ianpspurs today is a beautiful day, but it might be raining from tomorrow on

I was locking up yesterday when it got dark, and when a Royal Mail card got pushed through the door.
It tells me to look in my safe place.
I open the box, and there is a delivery of bulbs...my double snowdrops.
It was supposed to be next week!
I opened the box.
They were supposed to be 'in the green', not in full bloom!
It was a miracle they were still intact.
Popped them in a bucket of water, and they look nice and perky this morning.
Which is more than can be said for me.

I have been up a few hours already (it's 5:30 am now) writing postcards for my American pen friend. She wanted castles from all over the UK. I have a selection, and I have been writing the history and a few fun facts about each one. And then I will bundle them in an envelope and post. I love lighthouses, so she is sending return envelopes of lighthouses. Anyway I was just doing Scotland this morning. And I decided to paint one of them (I hadn't looked up the history of it yet) in ZenBrush3 (still behaving itself).

I have no idea why I picked this castle from the 50 or so postcards I have on Scottish castles. Then I googled it to write about it. Now I understand even more what my father was talking about. He was in the RAF. A wireless operator. And the last couple of years in Second World War was in Scotland. And he spoke a little of radars, and directional torpedoes, and other radar stuff. And it ties in with what I just read of the training of RAF bomber crews. This castle, Tantallon Castle, played a role in those preparations.

Another smashing illustrated tale and pleased that Zen Brush 3 is still behaving. Castles - friends of ours lived in Bamburgh Castle for several years (in the clock tower) - there are a number of apartments in the castle and are rented out on peppercorn rents.
 
Good morning everyone, it’s a wet and windy start here in the dark and dangerous north
Walk into town yesterday went without a hitch but the walk back proved a bit painful. What used to be classified as a gentle slope has now turned into the West flank of the Eiger. Still, it’s getting there and as long as I don’t rush at it (very frustrating) improvements will be made even though only gauged on a micrometer. Up with the larks this morning - but all sensible larks are otherwise engaged - 4.30 - what’s that all about. Rumour control has it that a gold medal was handed out yesterday, breaking our duck. Well done the toe curlers and road sweepers. No idea what we are doing today but that wind outside is making a bit of a racket so it may well be another day of a, keeping out of the way and b, ensuring that the tea flows on demand.
Art bit - we have had some interesting sun rises and sun sets over the coast before someone ordered too many storms so a chance to use some yellow ink. Have a great day if you can, stay safe, drink koffy.

Hello to all from a blustery, rather than Eunice force, morning in Forest Heath cum West Suffolk cum Idaho and/or any other State of The Union. @Jojo85 enjoy the fine weather today and as the Sunday School hymn (Glad that I live am I) says after the sun comes rain. The birthday girl surely had a great day and the presence of her Aunt would have undoubtedly enhanced the whole day. Being 7 again eh? Joni. has a song about that. (The B and W is wholly appropriate for we oldies. Wonderful tale from a boy I taught who seriously thought everything was B and W when Miss was a girl) @gennepher simply splendid Castle, cliffs, memories of your father (my dad was an RAF wireless operator during his National Service), love and care for the friend and those snowdrops. @dunelm well done on the libations and outbound walk yesterday. Thank you for sharing your art once again and for almost all that post. You were in such a rich vein of form until the final two words. Fatigue can do that to a fella. Sunday lunch with 92 yo MIL today - pork belly but this isn’t just food it is * and * food. So, unexpectedly the Cityzens were Kaned before my very eyes last evening. Oh, Oh Antonio.
