What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

A brilliant clip. Bought tears to my eyes @jjraak

Thank you very much @jjraak

'Genns Garden of Tranquility' all accept your good wishes!

You stay safe and cool too

Interesting insight into what people are buying in these warmer times.

Ouch, another low reading

Well it’s all going on, I think you may need to get Michaela Strachan and Chris Packham to do night shifts in your garden but don’t offer any wet t-shirt treatments.

Yeh! It’s hotter than a Bessemer converter so lets get the coals on and burn some sausages and burgers. I’m going for the paddling pool but it will be in the dining room, surrounded by fans.

No I won't...

Good morning everyone from another morning on the Costa Del Saltburn-by-the-sea. More goings on with the big raffle and the Fantastic Four are now performing as a Kid Creole and the Coconuts tribute band and will be on tour singing their famous “Stool Pigeon”, “I’m Corrupt” and “Don’t Take Away My Coconuts” (although they may well take away yours). Evidently, it’s only going to be 20 deg C here today - very disappointed, what happened to Summer? My brother who lives up in the hills in Southern Spain tells me it was a mere 45 deg C there yesterday but of course, living in a traditional Spanish house with very thick walls and an inner courtyard makes all the difference.
Art bit - nearly there, just got to do something with the base - some foliage perhaps and then we may be done. Time now for some koffy before Mrs Miggins wakes up. Have a smashing day.

Fbg 6.6

The feeding of the wild beasts in the front garden appears to be working well. No more break-ins into my back garden last night.

One of my floor standing oscillating fans died last night. And the second one is in its death throes. Local stores out of stock, so Amazon again...

Midnight wouldn't eat last night until Jade had come and eaten first. The same happened again this morning. Midnight sat by his two bowls of wet cat food, until Jade came rushing in. He watched her feed, and then ate what was left.

A friend texted, have you seen the London fires. I hadn't. My instant thought was that rhyme, London's Burning. The pictures and videos of houses actually burning and people's homes lost was shocking. Many people left their houses with nothing, no meds, no documents. Devastating.

I have ancient woodland on the back of me which would be tinder dry, just like the ground of my garden is. And it has worried me in recent years in the heat spells. Houses have been built all round it, and there is no easy access for fire crews.

I also have a 'Hospital Bag', I made up 10 years or so ago, with nightie, knickers etc, and a list of contacts. Obviously they will be out of date now, and possibly spiders have made a home, and the clothes might be a wee bit musty. This bag is woefully inadequate for this current time, and I do not wear long floor length nighties any more.

I think a new bag is on the cards with spare essential clothing (no nighties), and important documents, and some important meds. And some stuff put in the cloud for easy access anywhere. I was looking at a photo of a woman being comforted after losing her house. Apart from the emotional stuff, how do you contact everything needed to get your life back together when it is burnt down in your house?

Creative is a kaleidoscope in Laboscope pointed out of my bedroom door into the garden as the sun is rising.

Hopefully it is cooler were you are today.

Take care.

The ice maker is churning out some ice for my cold drink...

Trees are developing nicely @dunelm
Enjoy your coffee!

Lovely kaleidoscope out into the garden and glad that your front garden food fest strategy is working. Essential documents etc., can be an issue if you have to leave the house in a hurry. We have photographed and scanned ours and they are in the cloud in a separate folder. We also have an access list of log in info. The folders need to be logged into to get access. They are also held on a flash drive which has a big plastic disc attached so it does not get lost - it’s in our grab bag.

Thank you.
And thanks for that info @dunelm
I do need to be much better organised on this.
I was just thinking I need log in info too. Because a lot of that can be device dependent, and if you lose your device...
Thanks again for the strategy outline.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those embracing the slightly cooler weather forecasts, whoop better make it clear not physically embracing that would be warmer.
.
Blood sugars were 4.6 another low, it’s a good job I saved my calculations from the last few day, I won’t need to fire up my steam driven sliderule again to much heat.
.
Yes an absolute disaster the fires and my sympathy goes out to those who are and have suffered.
In an effort to stay out of the heat herewith hopefully is a picture of one of my indoor long term jobs, I was trying to get the cd tray to open and retrieve the trapped cd.
Stay safe all stay safe and again stay hydrated.

Great job getting the CD drawer open - NAD - very nice.
