What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone on a much cooler day here in the heavily USA influenced not quite The Brecks and not quite The Fens . @gennepher thank you for the kaleidoscope although I do see the door as a coffin. Good news on the front garden feeding working but bad news on the fans. Midnight seems to have read or heard of the Last Supper. Your concern for all life does you credit. The hot weather causing such suffering via fires should - but almost certainly won't - make the "climate sceptics" rethink. Such events every three years isn't good. Data I have seen suggests the most at risk and impacted areas will be those needing serious levelling up - except serious seems to have left town just now. @dunelm thanks for the art and emergency/disaster/evacuation tips.
nearly there, just got to do something with the base
Very much the theme of the closing pitches. Country. What Country?
Since the weather is still what “We Boomers” Mk1 and Mk2 knew as summer, follow the guidance now in place. 'Tis definitely not Nanny State or Elf and Safety Gorn Maad. The past is a foreign country where serious mistakes were made. It isn't treason to say so. It is madness or plain evil to deny it and double down on them. Y'all have your best day now.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those embracing the slightly cooler weather forecasts, whoop better make it clear not physically embracing that would be warmer.
.
Blood sugars were 4.6 another low, it’s a good job I saved my calculations from the last few day, I won’t need to fire up my steam driven sliderule again to much heat.
.
Yes an absolute disaster the fires and my sympathy goes out to those who are and have suffered.
In an effort to stay out of the heat herewith hopefully is a picture of one of my indoor long term jobs, I was trying to get the cd tray to open and retrieve the trapped cd.
Stay safe all stay safe and again stay hydrated.View attachment 55540
Good work , Alf.

Always fascinating to peer under the hood of such devices.:)

A hug for the low...a bad run of late, heat the cause, I'm guessing ...rather annoying all round I suspect .

A moot point, sure you knew, but there is usually a pin hole to insert a pin to open cd draw.

Had on many devices, usually works, but I too had to remove casing once to recover CD..:sorry:

Enjoy the day :)

Morning team BG...;)

A run of mid 7's despite eating less the last few days.
But on the bright side water intake much improved :D

Monday Physio says we can resume ...err physio now surgeons cleared me for duty

Uber down to hospital, used hospital rehab gym for first time ... cycling explained as 'good' for me
( Ballet/walking bars and a recumbent bike, to be exact )

Decides it's back to a light version of rehab exercises for now.

Outside Santander cycle rentals...mmhh

Bike out, cap on, crutch broken down & cunningly secured in & on rucksack.
...a lovely little ride.

Paid the next day, but that gym day pain, when you've missed a few sessions.

Growing used to the pain, though last night a simple turn at the bathroom door, had me pulled up very short (OUCH.:arghh::arghh:)

Eased after a bit, but pain is certainly letting me know, she ain't gone anywhere until she's good and ready, and can always up her game, if I ever start thinking of ending our relationship & living without her :mask:

Not so hot today.
And time for a little petite déjeuner & cuppa before I set up for that deep dive the PTSD therapist promised ..eek :wideyed:

Have the best of days, y'all.

Hug for the pain from the exercise which will be of benefit long term. I'm not sure the old if it ain't hurting ... schtick ever convinces anyone. Best wishes/thoughts and prayers for PTSD deep dive - well supervised by trained professionals one hopes.

Ah @ianpspurs
I never saw those as coffins, but as crystal pendants.
Midnight is so unusual for a cat. Sometimes I look at him and wonder who or what he really is.
You have a good day Ian.

Yup a simple turn as you come out of a doorway, to turn left in my case, causes a sheering agonising pain in my left knee no matter how careful I am.

Have a good day.

Many people left their houses with nothing, no meds, no documents. Devastating.
Yes @gennepher it is devastating. Yesterday there was a huge fire in Ashill, a little village not far from us, and some houses were distroyed.

A class member spoke about a friend of theirs who lives there who has been left with only the clothes he was wearing when he escaped from his house which has been totally destroyed. He had lost his wife 2 years ago and has lost all the photos and memorabilia he had saved during their long life together. He basically has lost everything. It is so sad.

How very sad. Obviously losing your home and belongings is devastating enough but replaceable. The photos and memorabilia are irreplaceable.

That is truly terrible for him @Krystyna23040
So random Such a shock. So unexpected.

I hope he is able to find some peace, somehow.

Fbg 6.5

This is the new male Robin who visits my garden now. He comes in when Mrs Bluetit sings her song, and her entourage comes in - Little Miss, Little Miss's dad, this new Robin, the little Dunnock, and Mrs Blackbird and new hubby pop their heads out of the clematis. The new Mr Blackbird accepted the nest she had built earlier this year for her rogue blackbird husband, and they are bringing up a family of little blackbirds.

He is a messy looking Robin, has all these white feathers, that look as though they belong to another species of bird on his chest. You can see a suggestion of them here on this not so good photo (I couldn't get any nearer). As he flew off a white feather floated to the ground. I picked it up. An Angel Feather. I put it in my hand carved oak bowl.

So this is my Creative for today.

You can see how the undergrowth in my garden, normally green, has dried to a crisp. This is completely covered normally in a purple flowering ground cover plant.

Have a good day.
Cooler, but still need fans on indoors.
A hot cuppa now.

Good morning everyone from a distinctively cool start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. The grand Westminster tombola has now given us a duo to rival even The Crankies or those two in the film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Walked into town yesterday and then down through the woods to the promenade. Quite a cool sea breeze on an overcast day but still a number of people on the beach, mainly school groups and the surfers of course. Funicular was closed, training new staff. Up the steps then. Bin day today, always exciting. Art bit - just a bit of ground to anchor the trees. Got fed up with it in the end. Hope you all have a cool and pleasant day of it. I shall make koffy and see what the day brings.

I like these trees and their undergrowth and background @dunelm

Interesting you say you got fed up with it. I do at times with pieces of art work. But this of yours looks a good one.

Enjoy the day...

Thank you @gennepher. Yes, sometimes I just scrap the whole thing and move on but I may re-visit after a day or so and try and ‘rescue’ it.
