What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sorry about Tilly but as your nurse said these sensitive creatures get us through many troubles and are so loyal. Have managed to skip lunch today with two CWC so theres something in it. I dont want to get too hooked though, my weight has hit a plateau despite dropping two sizes. D is a crafty old fiend!

Good Lork @HarrisonK I think the aorta is scanned on my regular cardiac ultrasound, very restful and completely non-invasive!!! Colonoscopy a whole nother can of worms. Trying to keep the gallon of swamp water down is the hardest part.
Aw @PatsyB sorry about the wakefulness!
@ianpspurs thanks for sharing again. I grabbed it again, this time in US measurements. The pic does look familiar.
@gennepher good luck today, hope new hard- and soft-ware interacts better with your wetware! What a monumental task for you to learn how to process speech. Dare I ask about music? I'd recommend starting with plainchant which has only one pitch going on at a time. Less confusion, more easy learning.
Gad. 42 posts behind. Stopped at #480.
FBG 6.1 at 0710, a slight improvement.
See y'all later!

(Shudder) now y'all have got me remembering kaopectate. (Shudder.) Has the opposite use of milk of magnesia, which is just as shudder-worthy.

I'll take prune juice any day.
Oh...Milk of Magnesia in the blue bottle...my mother loved it but I soon learnt to keep tum issues to myself just in case! Then there was a tincture which was really foul (I think against worms?) that she would pin us down on a bench and drop it in our mouths. I really dont know why.

I completely agree. However... I am a sucker for chocolate. I did try cheapo Baker's baking chocolate on vacation bc the one I'd bought previously tasted, apparently intentionally, as though marinated in dry white wine. Not pleasurable. Neither was the Baker's, even less so. However, I have yet to meet a homemade, and I mean scratch from actual ingredients, chocolate cake I didn't like. And you must notice me not eating all these meat dishes. I'm used to that and it's no more a problem now than it was 8 months ago. I'm not having tremendous luck here at control either, although I expect my range is lower than it was 8 months ago. I must face and defy and clobber my plain old B-flat vanilla Food Addiction. Stress and it seems protein gets me in the BG too. So, yeah, narrowing food windows on a better bod lol.

Have not heard that "up with which I will not put" in decades!!! If I say it, ppl look at me blankly. Eleanor Roosevelt or Mark Twain, was it?

Hello
Yesterday's was a test run, to check on my riding fitness, new varifocal glasses and the route home on my bike sat nag.
The east coast trip is an organised trip, organised by me and is planned for later.

My blood sugars in the morning were approximately in the 7's, at lunchtime in Cambridge were in the 7's and when I got home were in the 7's. As I stated in another post diabetes and travelling, you have to be so careful.

I once led a Rideout from the Ace cafe to Divines cafe in Wiltshire, the first 26 miles were spent just getting out of Mordor as I call London.

I like to sneak up to the York's Moors and Dales, the roads are brilliant biking roads with excellent scenery.

I hope you have sorted your bike out by now. As for god's I like Dave Allen's phrase " may your God go with you " . I don't decry anybody's belief as long as they leave me alone.

@jjraak time to plug your phone in!!!!!
I got sick once on Maalox so y'all have to stop talking about MoM plzkthxbai!

So my millionth search of my test results and voila, there they are HBa1c is 6.6 ( they want 6.5) And my cholesterol is 3.6 they want it reducing by 40 % damned if you do, damned if you don’t !
What is it your cholesterol they want reduced by 40%...that sounds like madness 3.6 is absolutely fine Goacher & the 6.6 is not far off the mark...I hope you got some praise for your results...they should be encouraging you at the vey least...sod em' I say

yes, that is what i originally thought...nice.

The ace not far from me..don't go too often, though.
and yep, even on a bike london's huge and sooooo slow moving traffic wise.

ah, never been , on the to do / bucket list.

yes thanks..relay replaced, rewired butchered loom, undone connection and re sealed, then adjusted bulb in rear indy..finally got it all to play nicely..
blinky, blinky, happy joy.

and the dave allen..well spotted..loved his shows as a kid.

and also with you on the god..
i'm pretty relaxed, and without disrespect, we do genuinely take on board ganesh, when we hit india..
and was quite fascinated by Buddha when we hit thailand
so i respect any one who is of another religious belief... Or NOT as the case may be..

( But i always think it never hurts to have some big hitters on the bench.... just in case.. )

Well. Looks like I'll be living exclusively on olives for awhile. They seem to lower bg.... fairly expensive WOE if you ask me!
I ought to try an "olive day".

I'm glad I was not of the generation of kids who were given cod liver oil and castor oil!

My DN has enthused in my notes. It’s the guidelines for high risk patients (me) for cholesterol. HBa1c is 0.1 above what the guidelines want. I seem to be damned either way... increase insulin to reduce HBa1c then put weight on. You know what I think I will be golden girl. It’ll just be my weight.. ah well onwards we go. Quite enjoyed my prawn sandwich on ***** bread today ... next HBa1c in November so I’m good for. Day I think

I had logged onto my notes 5 times a day or was that an hour since testing

I understand, Debandez. We had our walls and ceilings re- plastered and there was more plaster on the floor than anywhere else! Don't do too much at once.
All done, it looks fab. Then hubby came in and said 'you did it with a wet cloth! Didnt you?' Appatently its not only elbow grease that's required but a dry cloth too! I told him where to go in a very short 2 word sentence

Oh, SaskiaKC. Now you are bringing back childhood memories! My grandma used to give me a tablespoon of "Scot's Emulsion"-- Cod liver oil in white, slimy gloop! I used to heave! It took me years to overcome my dislike of oily fish as a result. I love eating fish now but still don't like the smell. LOL

I had to do that Deb several years ago...it was hard work & it took me three days...good luck.

All done, it looks fab in.my opinion. Took all day almost. Couldn't wait to show hubby. Tadaaa!!! To which he teplied 'you did it with a wet cloth! Didnt you?' Grilling me but knowing full well he was right. Appatently its not only elbow grease that's required but a dry cloth too (he had instructed me to do this but I got more satisfaction from a wet one Haha always go against the grain me)! I told him where to go in a very short 2 word sentence
