What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

The overglasses came yesterday via Amazon. Well, only 4 pairs, not the 6 I'd ordered. The other two pairs are arriving this morning.

My idea works. Tested them out. I can wear my cochlear processor with them, which means I can hear now when I am wearing them. I chose different lens shades/colours to try out. And there was 1 clear lens pair, which means they are better for art work and that stuff for obvious colour work reasons, and obviously for driving. I need another clear pair to put in the car glove box.

So, I can now keep my eyes lubricated and comfortable when humidity is low. I have some Optrex in a tiny spray bottle, and this I spray on my eye lids before I put on glasses and then the overglasses. Yesterday, Sunday, it kept the moisture in pretty well. And it also reduced the need for so many prescription eyedrops (which are proving very difficult to obtain now). I am wearing these overglasses this minute.

My eyes are much more comfortable with this idea. And considering the hurried research I did Saturday (when I found the eyedrops not working in the low humidity, and I urgently needed something to stop the painful feeling my eyes were full of sand), given that Amazon gave me only a couple of hours to order to get them next day (Sunday), all this has worked out more than brilliantly.

Why on Earth I ordered a pair with amber lenses, I have absolutely no idea...except...I can ameliorate that somewhat, by taking my Laboscope kaleidoscope this morning through those amber lenses.

So, Creative in Laboscope kaleidoscope is my usual bed covers, but taken through these amber lenses. A new look on the world.

Cuppa needed now.

Great news on the over glasses especially if the hassle over prescription eye drops can be minimised . Stunning kaleidoscope today, thank you so much for creating and sharing. Everything I'm likely to need or use today has been invented but thanks for the thought. A cuppa is always needed.

Precision fermentation - mangetout Rodney or man get out! Seems like a good way forward - all we need to do now is get rid of those pesky grey squirrels that are eating our deciduous forests and stop water companies from dumping nastiness into the seas. Will we still need sheep to maintain our green and pleasant lands?
 
Result, result. Those amber lenses might be good for when driving at night. I use Viscotears liquid gel - it used to be on prescription but I now buy it - for my dry eye syndrome (I love a syndrome). I have had to use it quite a lot during hot, dry days. It works for me so I am pleased that you have found something that works for you. Smashing amber kaleidoscopic colour burst.

5.7 this morning. Something very spooky happened this morning. Our devices often flag up photos we have taken on that day. This time it was a selection of photos of us and our dogs set to music (a Strauss waltz). What was so scary is that these are a selection of the best photos we have taken, especially if Archie dog, and it would have taken weeks to trawl through his phone to put them together.

Blood sugars this morning were a self inflicted 7.9, yes I know what I ate and would I do it again? A definite yes, but not in the near future.
Here darn sarf in Tilehurst Towers we are forecast rain, we shall see.
Mrs J and me, me’s and myself have just breakfasted on the middle patio under a structure I call the Parthenon and today has been spoken about, tasks allocated, life is wonderful, but not so some of the tasks.
Now if you don’t mind I have to go and consume medication and out of Mrs J’s mind reading range plot my misdemeanours for today and if you do mind I don’t care .

I don't think I have ever had viscotears. Never been prescribed it. Just googled. It doesn't seem to have any preservatives.I'll order some. Try them out.

Good morning everyone from another night survived here in the dark and dangerous north. Not the best of nights if I am honest but here I am, infecting another day and pining for koffy. Fear not, I have a cafetière on the go so should soon be fully awake and ready for this mornings bout of physio. I must get some balloons today - the girl in the bubble loves a balloon. They are highly entertaining and very educational in the throw, catch, tap, carpet volleyball departments. Hours of fun but they do end up like sorry little wrinkled bags of air after a while and our ability to magically produce a replacement is waning. There was a bright suggestion of “blow it back up grandad” - but try as I might, there are some things that human endeavor has yet to solve - far easier to figure out where 10mm sockets go to hide. Art bit - another set of steps completed, I better find some more as I quite enjoy doing them. Have a blast of a day. I shall finish my koffy and contemplate mowing the lawn if it stays dry.

I woke up this morning in the dark (where did the lovely early light mornings go?), only to see Jade's piercing eyes bore through me from the corner of the garage roof. And another pair of piercing eyes from the swing. I had no doubt Ammy's piecing eyes were boring through the kitchen door...
It's dark, I said.
We're hungry, those eyes said back.
Can't I even have a cuppa tea first, I asked....

Yesterday I was waiting for a couple of parcels, from different places via the post office. Finally they they came. The guy scans them, then looks at me.
"Are you __(christian name)__?", he asks.
"Yes", I reply.
"Then, why are they different surnames?", still hanging on to MY parcels and not parting with them.
I replied, "You men can only have one surname your entire life. But us women can have many different surnames during our life."
He roared with laughter, "That's true", he replied giving me my parcels, and laughing all the way back to his little red post office van...


Creative is a kaleidoscope through my glass bedroom door of the wee bit of colour dawn gave before she disappeared behind a grey cloud cover...
Not very exciting is it ?
But it is my effort for today...

Coffee drunk...
Tea drunk...
What else can I drink?

I am glad you are doing more...

I am scared of balloons still. As a child I was taught to speak by blowing raspberries on them...and sometimes they burst in my face. So, please will you have lots of playful fun with those balloons today with the girl in the bubble.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. All mornings are good, some better than others, but all enhanced with the addition of tea and koffy.

On that meter of doom I achieved a 5.4 enabling the meter to survive a meeting with my hammer.

Now moving on not so swiftly on those steps painted by @dunelm, at first glance I thought ah a photograph, but no, exceptionally good effort Mr Dunelm and @gennepher you made me laugh over the surnames and as to your question “What else to drink” the brewing industry abounds with solutions.
Keyboard practice this morning, disaster darling absolute disaster. The “C” note has suddenly become very harsh, this would be fine if I played thrash metal music, but I don’t. So my mornings task will be to take the covers off, inspect and clean grrrr.

Now if you will forgive me I must sign out and make Mrs J’s early for her tea.
Stay safe all remembering to look left, right and left and right again as you cross the roads and cycle lanes.
 
5.2 this morning. Dog walk took ages as we met so many fellow dog walkers and of course stopped for a chat. More coffee drunk. I think I will read yesterdays newspaper before starting work.
