What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone, just. It was monsoon weather last night but I did finally get eight hours of sleep. It has taken me three nights, but whatever. We have already walked into town. The girl in the bubble stayed over last night so it was toast and butter at the cafe before she was dropped back at home. Tickets booked to go to France in September to see my parents and my sister. She is now well into her second set of chemo mixed with radio therapy and unlike the first lot of chemo, it is not whacking her out for a couple of days afterwards. My mother has decided that she now needs an electric scooter to give her more mobility so there will need to be some changes made so that she can zoom in and out of the house without having to go tackle steps. Art bit, another set of steps. Hope the rest of your day is pleasant. I have had enough koffy now so it’s time for some more tea.

Thank you for sharing another splendid piece of art. Good news on booking for France and even better news that the new regime suits your sister better. I hope the changes your mother needs can be completed swiftly and with minimal disruption. It is always time for more tea.

Hi friends!

A surprising 4.9 this morning after a delicious platter of cheeses and salami last night but I'm not complaining lol

Hope everyone had a wonderful Sunday!

Blood sugars this morning were a 5.7 .
When me, me’s and myself say lazy I am being lazy, after the last couple of weeks I’m sure my get up and go has got up and gone and not left a forwarding address.
Lots needs to be done here in Tilehurst Towers, but only the essentials will get done, they are easily defined Mrs J will point them out……
@gennepher I gave you a hug for the eyes, but you deserve a winner for solutions, now @ianpspurs if we ever to meet up we would need more than the riot shields, we would need the riot squad :) , we have such differing strong view points and mischievous senses of humour we would have a great time and terrify anybody nearby who would summon the riot squad. Vegan bacon sarnies and strong good koffy would have to be on the menu and motorcycle parking.
Perhaps we need kaptain Picard of Startrek fame to “ make it so”.

Stay safe all, enjoy your Sunday roast salad oh and sausage roll.
Edit: @dunelm hope all goes well for your sister and family and the deity of travelling smiles kindly on you.

I'm sure we would both be model citizens - well I would:) - in the event we were to meet. I was alluding to the need for us both to be very wary of any interactions which could lead to interference with immune systems, hence no hugs. From what I can gather my treatment is designed to help my immune system fight off the invader whereas yours is designed to make yours live in peace with your amazing gift. Startrek? Any mention of that and I'd be off:D

Thank you @ianpspurs and yes, I do hope that the changes that need making are easily and quickly implemented.

Amazon driver was due any minute, and no way was I taking off these work safety goggles. I had briefly earlier and my eyes dried up instantly. Amazon man came pulling his trolley, and stopped dead at this apparition in front of him.
At least you were not wearing a hazmat suit as well as safety goggles @gennepher

Thank you kindly @alf_Josiah

Hilary obviously had her reasons for not having chemo but I had no doubts and want to take this as deep into injury time as possible.
You were very wise to go ahead with the chemo @ianpspurs. I do regret not suggesting to Hilary that she would do better to do both the chemo and radiotherapy together, but as her doctors and her family respected her decision I felt I should not say anything. I still feel guilty though that I didn't question her decision.

A truly perfect day. We walked around the grounds of Cockley Cley Hall, then a lovely lunch at The Twenty Church Wardens then on to a leisurely stroll around Gooderstone Water Gardens. Now back home for even more coffee and a nice relaxing read of my current detective novel.

Steps, steps, and more steps...
It is a long way up...

Your mother will love her new mobility scooter @dunelm

Oh what a tale - and such a sight (sic) for the man from Amazon. You probably made his day. When I worked in Africa I had sun glasses with leather side shields. They were originally used to prevent snow blindness when I was in the Arctic but served me well in tropical sunshine.
Thanks @dunelm
Very useful those sun glasses...

Hello to all from Breckland where surprise, surprise, it is sunny, dry and likely to remain so until at least half way through the first week in September. I'm astonished Liz hasn't blamed The Woke/EU/Putin for drought and promised to end it along with the rest of her slash and burn campaign. Perhaps that is for the final push. Thanks for all the good wishes. Much as I have often found minimal pleasure or sense in Elsie it appears God's plan was to use her as a way to give me the strongest base possible for this journey. @Krystyna23040 Hilary obviously had her reasons for not having chemo but I had no doubts and want to take this as deep into injury time as possible. Enjoy the meal and perhaps a coffee and sausage roll amuse bouche beforehand? @gennepher hug for the dry eyes but ever resourceful so I hope the over glasses arrive and do the job. Thanks for the creative, I like the shapes. @alf_Josiah appreciate the thoughts given your own journey. If we were ever to meet I guess we would need to fist bump through perspex screens/ clink riot shields. Take care everyone since the weather is still warm for UK, covid hasn't gone away, boosterism/magical thinking is rampant and unlike Hogwarts help is not always available. Dumbledore for PM?
Thanks very much @ianpspurs
Playing with the over-glasses now...

Good morning everyone from a bit of a dull start here in the dark and dangerous north. There is a robin perched on a fence in the garden - I am looking out, he is looking in. Of course, it could be a Mrs Robin - it’s sat in shadow so I can’t quite see if it is all bright and show-offy or dull and washed out. I expect that when other birds arrive and a war starts that I will know. Eldest granddaughter arrived last night and has swiftly joined Mrs Miggins’ snore choir - they are busy practicing an off the wall version of The Flower Duet. It could of course be Mongol throat singing but whatever, thank goodness for my custom made motorcycle earplugs. Art bit, adding a bit more texture to yesterdays initial sketch. May your day be a good one. I better go and make some koffy.

Thank you @gennepher - there is mobility scooter research going on at present.
May I suggest a couple of things @dunelm
Lithium batteries are much lighter to take off the scooter to recharge.

And the lighter weight scooters, which can be easier to get in and out of the car, often do not have a key. I see many comments which say, I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known it didn't have a key. This becomes a problem if you need to use the bathroom when out and you are on your own, and you have to leave it outside the facility when you go...

Oh, and the mileage. Just like your new car brochure promises that fantastic mileage from the fuel, but disappoints in reality. It's the same with the mobility scooters....

Have fun researching.

………

And great defining detail to your Art bit....
Enjoy that coffee

Welcome to a new week however far into that you are. Cooler here but still bone dry and mild enough for shorts, sandals (no socks) and no thermals. Yesterday JKP presented me with a £5 tracksuit, branded, bagged and labelled - allegedly £50 at full price. So another layer to wear under the salopettes and battery heated coat for when this summer ends. Great fbg @Jojo85 and I hope you also had a good weekend. @dunelm those steps are developing wonderfully but the Grumpy Old Man act fools no one, especially we competitors. Great advice on the mobility scooters @gennepher. I'll comment on any wildlife stories and creatives as they appear in my notifications. Now, having done the basic pitch rolling I must needs perform a final Health and Safety (gorn maaad, just for Nige’s crew) check before JKP arises and 3 - later 4 - precious little Ps are entrusted to our mercy. Y'all know in whose mercy I believe we and they actually reside. If you like a challenge: it has been estimated that we should consume no more than 98g of red meat, 203g of poultry and 196g of fish a week. Anyone fancy precision fermentation for meat, cheese and eggs? Possibly too woke for those currently being thrown about 98g red meat per femtosecond. Stay safe, hydrated, avoid the meedja , those Ai devices that really surveil y'all and stock up on tin foil hats.
