Thanks @jjraakLoving the continuing evolution of midnight with forever mummy.
Pity about the sparrows being raucous.
And best wishes jabbity jabbity goes well.
Thank @ianpspursMorning all from a decidedly chilly but brilliantly bright outpost of Uncle Sam's protectorate. I may make a statement on my fbg around the end of November. There is no hurry as The Plan is working perfectly. Definitely no shouting match on Monday.. What people heard was harmonious singing of joyful songs. @dunelm a proper Curate’s egg of a post. Congratulations on the development of your wonderful art and to the birthday grandchild but hug for the underlying sadness contained in the reason for the wonderful way your sister is packing so much in. @gennepher thanks for the highly creative video, hug for the cost of showering those sparrows with love and food. You seem to have turned Midnight into a house cat with your love and care. Bravo. I hope the jab goes smoothly and after effects are minor or non existent. @Annb yet another early morning due to pain so a gentle hug for you. Best wishes for the hospital appointment @alf_Josiah - loved the cricket reference. Today some ridiculously expensive chocolate will arrive in the post all the way from Cambridge, the German bars myself and my bg like are so expensive to ship. Perhaps I should buy in bulk? We are off in search of dog food later since Amazon's has become too expensive and unreliable. No doubt some unspecified human provisions will appear: blueberries are cheaper these days. Keep out of trouble except you young Alfred me sparrow, me owl.
Thank you @gennepher. The trike will need to have a seat belt for her, she tires so easily. The trike sounds a good idea for your sister @dunelm
Art bit is looking amazing ....
I got that nice surprise also. I hope it does not have the same result for you that it had for me. Take care. Thanks @jjraak
I got a surprise...it was two jabs.
One for Covid.
And one for flu because my so called GP surgery is doctorless, and nothing is being organised from there.
Double jabbed on same day hadn't been my intention.
But so far, all is good...
Thanks for your wishes @dunelmI got that nice surprise also. I hope it does not have the same result for you that it had for me. Take care.
Hopefully your reaction to the double jab will be mild. The chocolate orange is this and definitely smells and tastes of orange which reminds me of pre-LC. Postage for the German bars is £12.90 however many I buy so bulk buying would work. The issue with buying in bulk is, as you say, storage plus I detest erythritol so I need to try single items first. The German bars have no horrible aftertaste and are my favourites. Their advent calendar was wonderful. You should rest up and have plenty of cuppas.Thank @ianpspurs

Last year was a nightmare getting a flu jab, and organising one.
Double jabbed on same day hadn't been my intention.
But so far, all is good...
So much is horrendously expensive now.
Maybe you should buy in bulk...
But then you need to build a bunker to store this stuff in secret...
I was double jabbed last year and, other than a slightly sore arm, there were no ill effects at all. Expecting the same this year - later this week, if I remember correctly. As with everything else, each individual acts, or reacts, individually. Just hoping your reaction is as negligible as mine was last time. Thanks @jjraak

I didn't feel the Covid jab at all @Annb I didn't know she had done it. The flu jab I did feel, and there was a sudden pain all around the top of my arm, but it immediately vanished, and has not returned.I was double jabbed last year and, other than a slightly sore arm, there were no ill effects at all. Interestingly, I saw a doctor today for the first time in months. That is to say, I caught sight of him as he swept through the reception area of the Health Centre where I was waiting to see the nurse. They are a species rarely visible these days; perhaps they should be on the list of critically endangered species.
Interesting screenshot, Ian. That related to the political one yesterday. Today's one is lovely. I seem not to have posted the reply that I wrote yesterday and it's sitting here on my screen waiting to be posted. So the comments are yesterday's.
BG at 3.15 was 5.8. Followed by yet more pills and tea. By 7.30 it was 9.5 and by 9.15 it was 12.8. More tea. insulin (both basal and bolus) and I'm waiting to see what happens. I am expecting a visitor any moment and have made shortbread to go with her cup of coffee, so I might have one tiny little bit with my coffee.
Neil dug out an old coffee filter machine last night and made some proper coffee with freshly ground beans. He did that because he can't take instant coffee - messes with his Crohn's - but decided he'd better have some coffee because his blood pressure had dropped really low and he was feeling awful.
Today: FBG 5.4 at 3.45 am.
In Scotland the government has introduced a new benefit which they say is more compassionate than the normal British one. Instead of PIP, it is APP, or something. People on long term disability benefit (like Neil) have been invited to apply for this benefit instead of the one they've been on. Neil was persuaded to apply and was presented with a 96 page book to complete for his application! He did it and sent it off. Since then there have been numerous phone calls requiring extra information and, since there is no representative of the department dealing with it on the Island, he needs to provide ID (presumably his existing benefit isn't enough). He needs to have a photograph of himself, countersigned by a doctor, a dentist, or a DSS representative who knows him, but not the Disability benefits officer at the DSS. Unfortunately, the only doctor who deals with him and knows him has now left his post in Glasgow - he can't get registered with a dentist on the Island and the only person who knows him at the DSS is the only one who is not qualified to sign the photo.
The solution offered is to meet with someone from the department involved either in their office in Portree (a 1 hour drive and then a 2 hour ferry trip away) or Benbecula (a 11/2 hour drive and a half hour ferry trip away). They are dealing with people with various disabilities, some of whom may be unable to get around, some of whom wouldn't be able to pay the fares involved, some of whom would be unable to deal with the huge application form, some of whom would just give up when face with all the obstacles.
And this is supposed to be more compassionate!
I am so far behind reading the posts. It has been such a hectic couple of days. How wonderful that Midnight spent the night in your kitchen. Lovely painting of him on the Kitchen chair.Fbg 6.8
I was doing another I cannot sleep at night thing.
The horrendous rainy damp weather had affected my aching bones badly.
So, painkillers and Amitriptyline.
While they took effect I went into the kitchen to make a cuppa tea.
It was just after midnight.
And who should I see sitting on the chair I had arranged for him, complete with a new fluffy fleece on it... cat Midnight!!!!!
For weeks I have been trying to persuade him to be indoors at night.
Yesterday was such a foul bitter cold day weather wise.
So, I went over and gave him a hug. He was doing the slow blink at me all the while. He does the slow blink when he is saying/asking if it is okay he is doing something new.
So, I went back to bed with my cuppa, and drew a painting of Midnight on that kitchen chair. I was so pleased he decided to do that. It makes me feel a lot happier that he has accepted the chair as a nighttime sleeping place. So, this is my Creative for today.

I was already editing a video on Midnight in the morning waiting for me to get up. So I have finished that and posted it on YouTube. And at the end of it you can see the red light at the bottom saying batteries low. He is the one using up all my trail cam batteries...
Time for a cuppa...and a well earned nap!!!
There are some really lovely walks in Thetford forest. I bet the dogs also really enjoyed their walk also.. We walked the dogs in the local part of Thetford forest yesterday for the first time in over a year which was a joy as well as much easier for me as the paths and underfoot conditions suit me better than uneven/rutted grass. It is also cheaper, well free actually, than dog adventure parks.

Good news. The Department has a representative on the Island, just nowhere to meet up with clients. But they have managed to borrow a room from the local council to meet Neil next week. It appears that this benefit is still in its rolling-out phase and still has teething problems - fairly important ones, it seems, if they can't even afford an office of their own (and can't use the facilities of the DSS, or whatever it's called these days). There are some really lovely walks in Thetford forest. I had been waiting to see my doctor for weeks but got to see her on Tuesday. I showed her my rash but she just ignored me and kept pushing her trolly round M&SI was double jabbed last year and, other than a slightly sore arm, there were no ill effects at all. It's getting better and better. Love the monochrome. The steps with plants growing through them remind me of a photo I took years ago of an old castle in Wakayama of a set of steps with a fairly mature tree growing in the middle, looking as though it was tip-toeing down the steps on the points of its roots. The castle was burned down and the gardens ruined in WW2. They rebuilt the castle but left the garden to go fairly wild. I wonder where I put that photo.Good morning everyone on a full on hectic start here in the dark and dangerous north. Girl in the bubble stayed over last night so Mrs Miggins had to get her up and out for nursery for 0730. HbA1c today at the GP surgery. This will be interesting as I have strayed from the low road lately. I shall call it an experiment. There, sorted and a good marker to jump back into line. No more beer frenzied midnight bowls of Kelloggs Frosties for you my lad even if they are grrrrrreat! Art bit - some monochrome, so avant-garde. I hope that you all have a most pleasant day, we are awaiting the excitement that is the cavalcade of the bin lorry. But first, some koffy.
