What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

More baking to be done today for my Welsh friend who will come tomorrow morning. It appears she can only cope with one person at a time and she has to structure her days. Now Monday is the "visit Ann" day for her.

Also need to make some kind of childish bake because my Persian friend is bringing a couple of troubled children to do some artwork on my kitchen table. Their mother is having difficulty coping with them and she is having a break on Tuesday late afternoon. If it goes well, it might be repeated. Must admit, I've met one of them and don't, at present, warm to him. I knew his father at a similar age and found him very difficult (he is currently in prison).

Oh dear @ianpspurs
I am glad the bank reimbursed MIL
It is virtually impossible with the current lot of scammers to be aware of it all.
A Greattit appreciates the fat logs!!!

I hope your day goes well @Annb

A fine video.

Thanks. JKP is taking Sunday lunch to MIL which she offered to do last Sunday but the offer was declined. MIL is aware of my treatment and we assume she was trying to protect me by not passing on her, at that stage we thought, cold to me via JKP. The scam has shaken her. For the first time she feels she now needs help.and is talking of selling up and living with us as she made her own mum, who lived to be about 2 months shy of 100..Perceptible change of attitude.
Edited to make it, vaguely, intelligible

These scammers have a lot to answer for. Their acts are purely evil. It really shakes your confidence to fall for a scam, whatever your age, and you begin to mistrust your judgement of everything. I fell for the one of these early purporting to come from the fraud department of the bank, early on in the development of them. I got my money back, but it was a harrowing experience. I feel so sorry for your MIL and hope she is able to get over the shock (and in my case the shame of having fallen for it). I was supposed to be smarter than that!

A distressing time indeed.

The shame isn't yours, it's theirs

And as always remember for us it's a scam & that shakes us.

But these guys are Professionals
They make a living doing this.

Easy enough for the wisest of us to taken in.
So you're in good company.

Be kind to yourself , after all you learned the lesson, and many don't .

An awful lot for her to be taking in right now.

Best wishes the covid passes quickly & her minds settles to a more relaxed state, asap

I've got over it now and am very careful these days - not at all trusting, which in a way is a shame. I am aware of all the warnings and haven't fallen for another of these scams again, although there have been several similar calls and e-mails. For the unwary, it is so easy to believe what the scammer says; as you say - they are professional con artists and very good at what they do.

I have stone stairs like these, but with glass doors, not the impressive archway. Ok took the photo. Now to try uploading it.

This is my post from this morning - it didn't post because I forgot to press the post reply button.

5.0 this morning. Relaxing with a coffee and catching up with the newspapers. Got as far as Wednesdays. Am speed reading then to get to the Suduko - my favourite part of the paper.

We are off to Gooderstone Water Gardens for a gentle walk. Archie has been a bit under the weather this week with a tummy upset so a gentle amble will be ideal. It will be his 16th birthday on Tuesday. Earlier this week when he went off his food I did wonder if he would make it.

You got this Archie this whole thread will be rooting for you but prayers never go amiss.

First fire of the year yesterday. MrSlim said if he put on another layer he would look like Michelin man. No photo. It's on MrSlims phone and atm I can only post pics if I take them when posting. Quality of image is currently quite poor. Apologies for that peeps. There must be a better way, but baby steps.

Ginger tea and the wimpy lemon and ginger tbags are both very soothing for a sore or tickly throat.

My daughter has just completed the virtual marathon. She is raising money for a Dyslexia charity.

Skimmed through the posts for last ten days. Replied to a few, but I can see at least one ended up in the wrong place.
After a period of low mood followed by three days of no energy at all. I tested but was negative for covid.
FBG has tended to be in the fives for about a week. With one higher 6.1 and a surprising low of 4 8 another day.
MrSlim has finished pointing the end wall and is about to move on to some roof repairs at the other end of the building. Tried to post pics but no go this time.
Does anyone have tips on litter training a very young kitten?

You have a very young kitten?
Congratulations @SlimLizzy
I don't have any special tips about litter training. But I would put a newspaper under the tray.
I cannot remember training kittens. It was that long ago. But I did keep a close eye on a kitten in the first few days, and I took it to the tray every time I thought it may be thinking of doing something and scrabble its little paws in the cat litter...
Good luck x
