The workmen had realised that they cut through the water pipe and they were what they called "splicing it together" Neatening the 2 cut ends and taping them together, I guess they mean. Hope it holds. Anyway, we have water again, so no problem. I was thinking they would have to call out someone from the water supplier - that would have taken ages to fix.Oh joy! The men digging out the ditch (requested by car drivers who haven't the sense to slow down when they see a 3" deep puddle) seem to have cut through our water supply. No water in the tap for drinks. Until it's fixed it will have to be full strength fruit juice or milk. In fact, we were quite happy for them to be working on the ditch but Neil did explain to them where there were pipes/field drains/sewer to try to avoid. He's just hotfooted up the road to find out what's happening.

Unfortunately, gennepher, your creative doesn't open. I'll try again later and see if it works.Fbg 8.1
It was wIndy and bucketing it down with rain yesterday and felt dark as night most of the day. Not uplifting at all. I had a successful early morning, but didn't feel like doing anything later. I got soaked several times yesterday, and the hallway was full of my clothes hanging up drying with the dehumidifier underneath.
I have never known so much relentless rain day after day after day.

I was in the process of editing the post, adding a bit about the so called irretrievably deleted files. I think @Annb when you are editing the post it doesn't open up properly for others.Unfortunately, gennepher, your creative doesn't open. I'll try again later and see if it works.
Well worth the wait, gennepher. Fantastic. Looks about as wet as our road has been recently. We don't have many deciduous leaves left now - just the flowering cherry seems to be determined to hang on to its summer clothes. Maybe it wants to be one of the firs on the other side of the garden.I was in the process of editing the post, adding a bit about the so called irretrievably deleted files. You should be able to see the creative now!
You have the best day you can x

I have been in those irretrievably deleted files again, I mentioned yesterday, and irretrievably deleted them again. But when I turned the Apple device back on, the irretrievably deleted files had reappeared...
I don't like the implications of this....

Happy Birthday to the girl in the bubble @dunelmGood morning everyone on another damp start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. Yesterday we glimpsed the art of misdirection and the value of members of parliament attending the Tommy Cooper school of sleight of hand. I bet they can claim expensed for that. Anyhow, to more important things, it’s the girl in the bubble’s birthday today - the big 3! How exciting. A tea party has been organised for tomorrow - please note, A tea party rather than The Tea Party - we won’t be going all principled while playing pass the parcel and eating cake.
Art bit - not much change but it will get there in the end. Have a wonderful Friday should you choose to live in the now. I need some koffy and then take my pills.

Am just catching up with yesterday's posts. Hope you have your water back on now.Oh joy! Thank you for this article @ianpspurs. It is so interesting. I especially liked this extractMr K sets the bar impossibly high for we mere mortals but it is always good to know the standard to which we should aspire. This is something you have mentioned before and includes some useful exercises people can do at home: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/news/202...them-could-help-cut-gym-time-study-shows.html
If he did he has kept very quiet about itHow very gold starndard and top marks for Mr K. Wonder if he will be buying an engine hoist, one of those fancy combo drill sets a big chain saw or a Black Friday mega-deal on the lot.
