Apparently they have been told that the manufacturer is unable to get hold of the "raw" materials to make them. That sounds very odd to me. Other manufacturers can get them, eg Solpadeine, paracetamol, codeine etc. Alistair has been trying to persuade the GP to change her prescription to paracetamol and codeine, as separate tablets (which is what I have on prescription) but has been phoning frequently throughout the day to try to get them to agree. I think he may have succeeded thinking about the time he came to collect Em (he couldn't come in - he had a car full of grandchildren) but he didn't wait around to ask for some of my supply to tide her over.
Maybe something about the price that the generic supplier has to pay for materials - who knows? Wonder if this is just on the Island or is more widespread. Again, who knows?

Is it Brexit? If other manufacturers can get the materials, why would this one not be able to? I can't help wondering if they can get a better price for their product by selling to other countries (it was supposed to have been stopped, but I'm not so sure) and so, neglecting the British market. To be honest, though, I don't know where the tablets are made - maybe Europe, so why shouldn't they? A couple months ago I couldn't get promethazine and they would not let me have Avomine the anti sickness pill and cut them in half...the active ingredient is promethazine... it helped me sleep.
I now manage without it.
Its Brexit...what a success it's been!

Oh hon.Sorry this post is so late but just seen my HbA1c result on Patient Access: Up even further to 93 despite my maximum dose of Gliclizide and Metformin! Just wanted to share it. I'm worried.
When my parents had a small holding of 17 acres, mum used a crop rotation system, even for the chickens - the chicken house was on wheels, in the centre of an enclosure which was split into four sectors. Each week the chicken house was rotated to the next sector. At the end of each year, the enclosure was moved. Mum did all the work - dad worked at the hospital in Cardiff at that time and came home at weekends to bathe in the glory of medeival agriculture.I just hope politicians will not keep overriding consensus science and heed the warning signs of terrible climate change and exploitation of soils.
Regenerative agriculture works. East Anglian and Lincolnshire soils will not last forever.

A few years ago next door gave us lettuce out of their garden. Looking closely it was covered in bits of blue slug pellets.
Needless to say we threw it away, it was not fit to put on a compost heap.
One slug pellet puts an Olympic sized swimming pool out of pollution limits.

Wow @dunelmGood morning everyone on a morning that has already proven to be quite lengthy here in the dark and dangerous north. Up and down since 1am and ended up sleeping on the recliner so as not to disturb Mrs Miggins who needs all the sleep that she can get as she has a theatre appointment this evening, dahrlings with a couple of her sisters. Talks of family history - I have been trying to pin point the exact location of my maternal grandfathers grave - allegedly in the Commonwealth War Cemetery in Haifa, Israel. As he died after the war ended it took a bit of time but we now have it so a planned trip there can be factored in when we go (hopefully) to Jerusalem in November. Art bit - another starter for ten. Hope everyone can have as pleasant a day as possible. I have finished my exercises for the day so best make some more koffy.

Apparently new supplies will be available - at the end of March!
EDIT: My PPI is Esomeprazole and, so far, has always been available. Fingers crossed. I actually don't know why it was prescribed and when I asked a doctor he said he didn't know, but try not taking it and see what happens. So I did. Didn't take long to feel some pretty severe stomach pains. Still don't know the cause of that, but I just keep taking the tablets.
We used to buy Avomine as a travel sickness preventive. It never seemed to work for Neil or for me. Eventually, we realised that it was actually making us worse so we stopped taking it. Now we just go to sleep on the ferry and take lots of breaks when travelling by car.
