What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hello everyone on St Patrick's day and Red Nose day here in Little America. Some cognitive dissonance for a few with it being a Feast Day, Friday and Lent. Test for the grasp of the failure and forgiveness module. @dunelm thanks for the art and enjoy the theatre - still not completely sure if serious. Does MM have a tin whistle? Sounds as though the scan went smoothly music or not. @jjraak your week sounds good - will you be toasting St Patrick? - and the gym sessions seem excellent. JKP has sessions on Thursdays to help her back. Whilst I was being a drip and taking the very shaken but not stirred mystery tour of not really roads we had a communal Ocado: not just for us but also someone else. JKP informed them and was told, meh, just keep it all - including the 8 pints of milk, we will put it right when the other customer gives us grief - I paraphrase somewhat. Some spiffing items, a large sack of which No 1 son availed himself gleefully (JKP wisely edited his choices). No one knows what to do with the milk as his is a whole milk family, food banks here refuse fresh milk. Venison casserole was divine - store bought mashed swede - N Irish - is a thing here. Thoughts and prayers with @lindisfel today which I think is the 61st Anniversary of him being shown God's grace by marrying Marjorie. I hope @alf_Josiah and Mrs A J are both recovering. JKP and myself may well go to Newmarket today to buy Comic Relief Merch and possibly a replacement for something I've been mourning for about 15 years, Starbucks may also be involved then home for SSSF. How you doin'?

SSk milk, or even fully skimmed, can be made into puddings with the addition of some cream. Puddings are probably not for you Ian, but maybe your son? They can be frozen for consumption in the future. Or added cream and fruit to make milk shakes or even ice cream for children.

Thanks Ann. His children's views on skimmed and semi skimmed milk are along the lines of a JP McEnroe outburst. Their taste in ice cream is shaped by their Nonna - although they like JKP's lasagne and pasta bake best :woot: . We have an ice cream maker but no space in any freezer - I'm not buying another one and won't/can't have MILS's chest freezer. Wrong son for milk shakes and his - No 3 son - children use whole lacto free anyway. Not ferrying it to Winchester either. Shame really.

Good morning and welcome to a day of ‘In the green’ here in the dark and dangerous north. Grrr! I have chipped a tooth - it’s not painful and I have an appointment for Tuesday to get it molded back into shape. Meantime we are celebrating St Patrick’s Day by goin to the theatre for a rendition of songs labled “Seven Drunken Nights - The story of The Dubliners”. As my maternal grandfather came from Waterford, I am all ready with my atrocious accent. Art bit - as it’s Paddy’s Day - a bit of where giants once trod. Well, the start of it. Have as good a day as you can. Best finish my koffy.

7.0 this morning. Very busy day today. Appointment with podiatrist then lots of admin. Got it all done. I was amazed how fast I zipped through it.
Now I can relax and read when I get home from classes at 9pm tonight. It is such a good feeling to be up to date with the work.

Night time wildlife cameras...

I had to delete a lot of the videos because it was far too much for one night for me to video edit the next day.

And so I have missed out all the stray cats getting their food which was the cat biscuits on the swing.

The badger, KissyKissy was the first wild animal last night. He was determined to get at those cat biscuits on the swing.
He is watched very closely by cat, Merlin, who is literally only inches from his nose.
The badger then proceeds to dig out one of the containers in my container vegetable garden. And then he goes into the bushes on the left. Yesterday when I looked in those bushes, because the badger has been spending quite a lot of time in there, I found he has a collection fetish for my hand garden tools. I had been buying more to replace them but I didn't know it was this badger that was hiding them.

This badger, KissyKissy, was in my garden last night from dusk to dawn. He was wandering around the whole time.

A bit later the fox comes in, Foxy Loxy, and he immediately jumps on the swing and crunches away at the cat biscuits. He helps himself several times during the night to those cat biscuits on the swing.

The badger, kissy kissy, comes along and he is very determined to get those cat biscuits. He tries again and again and you can see him eating some of the cat biscuits. At one point a second badger comes along, his mate, a female who looks a little bit bigger than he is. She is under the swing playing with the foil containers which held the daytime cat food for the stray cats.

She soon leaves, she doesn't appear to have the same attraction to my garden that KissyKissy has.

KissyKissy is getting the knack of the swinging swing by now, and he has a good helping of the cat biscuits, watched very closely by cat Merlin, who is less than 2 hand widths away from the badges face. Merlin gives a verbal warning to the badger.

It is now approaching dawn, the birds are singing, and the badger goes home. Merlin's duty as guardian of the cat swing has now finished and he goes off into my kitchen (which is just around the corner) for some nice cat food.

There was nearly 200 2-minute clips of animal activity during the night. And that was a heck of a lot to go through this morning. I have had to be very selective so I concentrated on the badger mostly.

Creative painting in Procreate is another lamb.

It is now early evening, and time to put these empty SD cards back into the wildlife cameras. And new batteries to put in. I went over to rechargeable batteries because the batteries were barely lasting one night with the amount of activity that is in my back garden.

Is there this wildlife activity in most people's back gardens and they don't have a clue?

Because I didn't have a clue this much went on in my back garden every night, until I had to sort through those trail camera videos clips.

The stray cats need their evening meal now, and by the way I do put cat biscuits out for the badger and the fox but I put it under the bush. But they both seem to want what the cats have on the swing...

Night night x

A busy night in Genn's garden. Johnny Morris would have hammed up a wonderful voice over for those videos. Thanks for sharing that very fluffy lamb - shoulders still need development :)

Saturday morning in a damp Little America, how you 'doin? New Swipey offered up a distinctly beige 5.3 first off but seemed to recognise that I had done early morning chores and played around with a dinky 6kg kettleball. It will be interesting to see what it makes of the microbiome friendly tweaks I have made over the past few months. Trip to Newmarket yesterday went well - aspirational loafers, dress for granddaughter's birthday and Red Nose day t-shirt acquired (amongst things I had no idea I/we needed) but too wet to walk along to Starbucks. @lindisfel I hope all went well yesterday and you are comfortable. @alf_Josiah I hope yourself and Mrs A J are winning the fght against covid. Have a safe day with as much pleasure as you can muster whilst spreading as much love as possible.

Busy busy and a smashing lamb with hints of spring

Good morning everyone on an early drilling noise in the air morning here in the dark and dangerous north. Ongoing work on the garage conversion - boarding out, lots of screws. Theatre last night was very good as was the extended hours in the pub afterwards. Superfoods - just a marketing gimmick - my life is ruined :);) Are there any true superfoods? Got to sort soup out later - Crispy pork hot and sour I think. Art bit - adding details. Hope you all have a smashing Saturday, I have koffy on the go.

Glad the theatre and pub went well. Thanks for sharing the art. Michael Moseley reckons cabbage is a superfood. Red cabbage and beetroot kimchi is becoming a staple for me but I need some oily fish/fish in oil to placate the bite. Interesting mixed with the free cheese coleslaw Ocado left us (4% carbs) - cheddar may - allegedly - be microbiome friendly but free cheddar is definitely IP friendly.

BG at 2.30 was 7.9. Rose to 9.6 at 5.30 and stayed there. Checked before breakfast and it was still 9.6. I did take a small dose of insulin before my bacon and eggs, so we'll see how that goes.

I am supposed to be going to a meeting in Stornoway next Tuesdaqy. Food will be required - cupcakes and a savoury dish. Unfortunately I have just discovered that the meeting place, while believing it is accessible, really isn't. Last time I went there, I couldn't go to the 2nd day because of exhaustion and pain, so I think I will have to call off. Maybe make the food and get Neil to take it in for me. I know, I'm chickening out, but I just can't face the same thing happening.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman and those who didn’t skip the light fandango, but completed the course and are now displaying the certificate in the smallest room.

Yesterday’s blood sugars were 5.8 and this mornings were 6.3

If you would be so kind as allow me, me’s and myself to make a safety koffy and in the immortal words of Sylvester Stallone “ I’ll be back “. Now waiting for the elixir of safety to brew.

Both Mrs J and all of me’s are still going through the motions of covid. Surprisingly Mrs J is suffering more than me, speaking to friends who have had covid, testing +ve for 2 weeks seems to be the average with a peak of 5-7 days for feeling really rough. Mrs J is is in that peak. So I have sent her back to bed, which could be taken as I shall be getting up to mischief, what? Who me? Surely not?

I have discussed my plans for today, it seems day 7684 of covid incarceration with Mrs J and she voiced no objection, this was before I sent her to bed, but I better put them into play before Mrs J is alert enough to object.

Stay safe, stay away from Tilehurst Towers.
