What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Sorry to hear that Youtube is still a nuisance for you. Thank you for sharing that stunning creative. I hope you manage to enjoy a few cuppas and naps today.

Bravo on steadying the peaks & flattening some of the daily waves

I see it very much like an ocean.
With no insulin I feel very shore based, so it's easier to get to safer harbour.

Not so much when insulin is part of the equation , it must seem more like an ocean, balancing it with everything else in life it seems, judging by @alf_Josiah reports and so many others .

Strongly suspect improvements aren't linear but more laying foundations week on week to calm the waves.

Had picked up on others finding a fast early morning rise

Think it was discussed as the DP & body believing you are starving & preparing us for a cave mans day, foraging for scraps of food .

Problem is, eat a breakfast and it rules the day...creating more waves & dips.

Some mentioned a small piece of cheese, tricks the body into thinking it's not in danger without loading us up with too much food.

Sorry if that's what you do, just thought I'd mention in case it was of the faintest use

Aghhh...how annoying for you.

But the paintings a cracker

Calomine lotion ?, springs to mind ..mmm
Looked it up it's called Virasoothe it's a gel supposed to ease the itching. Seemed effective on our teenage ukranian who had a very bad case of chicken pox.

Thanks jraak, all advice gratefully recieved and tested. This one's for tomorrow morning. As you say, improvements aren't linear but it takes a continuous effort to get any stability. It is, definitely a Dawn Phenomenon with me and that's what I want to deal with, because once it gets out of control, it's difficult to get it down again to a more reasonable level, but if I take insulin to get it down, I feel I need to eat something which isn't going to put BG up in itself (eg eggs, bacon). Made an omelette this morning around 6 am but really didn't want it at that stage. BG did drop though, down into the 5's. Maybe, tomorrow, no actual breakfast, but just a bit of cheese. Worth trying.

Being away from home is messing with BG.
Still lovely to spend time with Mum. Saw my sister, niece and cousin. Now staying with brother. Big family party on mother's day with five small children and nine adults. Today dog walk, and then roped in to deliver some leaflets this afternoon. Dinner at daughters tonight. Still need to arrange train for tomorrow back to ferry.

Hi all,
Saw nurse practitioner this am, still itching like fury but it's not shingles it is too extensive.
Perhaps allergic reaction to something put on to cleanse me for operation. Bloods done and results will determine if I need antibiotics for Cellulitis a possibility ..I hope not.vShe will ring at 1830 when results in.

Got results for the skin lesion, it is a Melanoma in situ and they took enough tissue to excise the lesion fully and will keep me under observation now.
I do not worry too much, I am in God's hands.
It could have been better news though, but the damage was done over half a lifetime ago

Mixed news there Derek but good that your faith still holds strong. Thoughts and prayers with you.

A small piece of cheese is known as a Ben Gunn complex. After being marooned on the Island that's all he craved.

Benny Boy wanted it toasted: "Well, many's the long night I've dreamed of cheese—toasted, mostly. '' Gunn also tells Hawkins he's rich, but doesn't explain further. (Study .com) Derek, did they have thumbits in your part of Fenland? People used cheese not meat in my part of the world

Evenings would find my older sister sloping off to the kitchen gobbling bits and pieces of food on the quiet. I can't quite recall that expression but it described well her ability to hoover up scraps and larger amounts of various foods left over. She well may have deserved some it being one of the sources of household income after my father died when she was 16 and I was 6.
