What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

It took me a very long time to work that out.

I am on my second Android phone, and I couldn't figure out how to refresh the page with my first one. Second Android phone last year, and I still couldn't do it. Then one day I sat down with that flipping phone. And finally I got it. It was not obvious, as on the front page obvious. But you had to press something which went into another menu, maybe 3 dots or something and there was the refresh page symbol.

And if something is out of sight, it is out of mind to me and I just don't think it exists. So with files on a computer that is within a file that is within a file, I have great difficulty finding it or navigating it to that actual thing...

It is the same for me with object if the object out on display, I know where they are, but if I put the object in a drawer I have forgotten about it instantly and I go and buy another one because that object doesn't exist for me anymore that's been put away in a drawer. And I've never been able to get anyone to understand this even though I've tried to explain it to them...

If you come in my bungalow now, you will see that everything is labelled to within an inch of its life. Every container is labelled. Every drawer is labelled and that is the only way where I know or remember I've got something that is out of sight to me.

So with tablets or computers, files within files are virtually impossible for me to navigate, I cannot do it, unless I draw a diagram on a lined piece of paper with little arrows, leading to the file, and then a downward arrow leading to the second file and another sideways arrow leading to... and so on. My son used to get very upset and angry and frustrated with me, that I couldn't just see it without having to write all this stuff down. Stuff which came to him in just a click of the fingers.
 
I always used to try to get my IT students to think about old fashioned filing cabinets with drawers labelled A-B, C-D etc. Within those drawers, there would be folders with subject labels - again A,B,C and so on. For some, it was helpful, for others, just meaningless. People's minds work in different ways.

I have a friend who is always losing files, or doubling, trebling them and using too much memory and she can never understand how to save files once, backup twice and navigate back to them when she wants them, but she is a brilliant linguist (taught French and Russian for years). It's just the way her mind works but her brother gets angry and frustrated with her - he's an engineer and just can't understand why his logic doesn't work for his sister.

For me - losing things is a constant. I usually remember that I have one of whatever it is but where I put it away is anybody's guess. Usually, after a frustrating hunt around, I will say "OK, we'll get another one, thent he first one will turn up" and it usually does. Not the best procedure, but that's me - and it's Neil. Clever though he is, and organised though he is, he loses things just as I do.
 
Good national bin day afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen, has today been one of those days so? Here in Tilehurst Towers it has. Nothing bad or disastrous thankfully.

This mornings blood sugars were 7.2 well within my hospital given limits.

Hats off to @gennepher for dealing with her trials and tribulations and composting.

Now an afternoon nap is required.

I reckon you could eat those worms?

Quick kill them in hot water, dry them after washing and mince them and press them into a burger and lightly fry them in olive oil

I should think they would be as good for one as prime steak fillet.
And very low carb!

On it like a car bonnet Derek. As for AI discussion earlier, our 1 yo grandson has that sussed but his at home is google and ours is AA. He keeps asking goggle (his try) for things and becomes irate when nothing happens.

But Lauren's an anglo.
Koh samui was the location.

Was later in Bangkok, khoa San road, acting very not our ages, with a plethora of tourists, Thai's & a glorious bunch of lady boys, that Lauren embraced & got adopted by for the night.

Using water pistols / pump actioned guns, all supplied by bars, we fully joined the festivities.

A lovely time.
Such lovely people.
