Today's unknown, I ate before remembering, ho hum.

Popped out for little ride to big supermarket yesterday.

Came out to the aftermath of that poor ladies collision with the police motorbike escort.

Checked on local news, very touch & go for her by them, beeb had it seems as if it was minor injures, (since updated).

A little prayer for her from me.

Picked up car - HOW MUCH!!!!! Couple of “observations”. Front discs are corroded and lipped, near side front lower arm bush worn and bothe front dust covers split in shock absorbers. No big deal at present but will probably get them fixed quite soon. Letter (V11Z) from DVLA - tax reminder - even though tax is £0 I have to go on line and tax it. Another unpaid job for the government.

Thank goodness we have such garages to help regulate our bowel movements, hey..

Though I am mindful on the big bike I had an advisory that "disc wear needs attention". That was back in 2010, never mentioned again
As was 2015's "Radiator needs attention" drama

Sure they might be right, I did check and all seemed ok right after MOT
Just odd how one day its a fail or advisory, the next time it's a pass and none ..

Still nice to know bottoms in good order..

After a rather nice morning I drove Marjorie to supermarket. First time I had been out in car since heart attack four weeks ago.
Feeling somewhat better but still very tired and readily going to sleep in day.

Too wet this pm to go birding down the Solway, the Skua passage seems late and rather poor this year, although I don't think I can manage hours with my eye glued to a telescope sitting looking at birds flying up the estuary on a rising tide.

My peaceful day to myself did not work out. My friend who's mum died went in full blown panic attack, and no relatives nearby to help out. No one was being helpful, and wanted to do the opposite of what my friend wanted, but they were not organising and leaving it all to my friend.
All I could do was ask a series of questions of my friend and of her mum. Very shortly we narrowed it down to two female undertakers. I can't read or speak Dutch, so I was going by photos and brochures and reviews which Google Translate helped me with. We both chose the same female undertaker. She told her family, but they said no we want the other female undertaker, but they weren't helping out with this in any way. Meltdown from my friend again. She wanted the undertaker we both chose.

Tell your family the other undertaker was unavailable, I told her. They are not going to phone and check. And phone the one you want. So my friend did. And the ball is rolling now, the female undertaker has been, my friend likes her.

I now have knots in my stomach because a part of me feels like I have interfered in a way...

Well it was stressful yesterday, but still coming down.

Wildlife camera.
Not nighttime, but the Magpie stealing the cat biscuits.
The Magpie, and Cat Midnight who is at the other end of the swing to the Magpie...in bottom right corner, that black bit of fur...

I could see Midnight watching the Magpie from my bedroom door.

A guest appearance at 6:46....

The Magpie has been busy since first light. He has cleared the bird table of all food, feeding his wife I presume and their babies. I tried this morning putting some cat food outside the kitchen door for the stray cats, but the Magpie nearly landed on my back in his eagerness to get at the wet cat food...

Now, time for a nap...

So much to catch up on today...

Perhaps the 'catching up on jobs fairies' will do a miracle while I sleep...

I love the sound of your garden and the images from it. You have some wonderful natural beauty there - even the dandelions have their own beauty, which you manage to capture. And, obviously, the local wildlife and cats, domestic or otherwise, love it too.

I have a lot of flowers at the moment, and other stuff. I would like to capture it all.
I am working on my vegetable garden at the minute.It needs lots of TLC!!!!

Em was in yesterday afternoon. "Gran," she said, "what kind of a dog do you think I would be?" Now, she doesn't look like any kind of dog, to be honest. She's a very pretty girl/budding young woman. "Oh, I don't know - something friendly and energetic." "I think I would be a husky. They're energetic and very friendly." Fine. For myself, I'm not so sure about the friendly, but still...

"I think you would be a golden labrador," she decides, head on one side, considering. Not sure I get the reasoning on that. "Why?" "Because you are kind, and loving and sweet - just like Bella was. And you are stiff and sore, and Bella was too, and she wasn't even as old as you, so she would have got worse, like you." Right, I get it.

"Mum would be a pug - not very big, but friendly and has problems breathing sometimes. Pugs can be a bit yappy/snappy and so can Mum, if she thinks someone is being unkind or unfair."

* "Dad would be a St Bernard. Big and kind and helpful and clever."
* "Braidie (teenage brother) would be a mastiff." No reason given on that.
* "Jo (brother in his 20's) would be an alsatian." I can't see that at all. Jo is a charmer but still not really grown up yet.
* "Ellie (big sister, in her 20's) would be a spaniel. She's energetic and a bit crazy."

I couldn't resist asking, "What about Neil?" She gave that some thought. A dog-like personality for Neil doesn't easily come to mind. "A lone wolf!" she decides.

So that's us all summed up.

BG at 3 am today was 10.9. Risen into the 11's now. Just on my 2nd cup of tea and trying to get some energy together to make a start on dishes I left last night after making and cooking some sausages - includes the gadget for filling skins which was an abject failure because it requires some strength in the arms to push the mixture through and it requires the skins not to break under the pressure, so the sausages are all sizes and shaped by hand. I've decided to call them "rustic sausages".

Morning all on a guess how many layers? start to SSSday here in L.A. I've gone with 3 lightweight ones - shorts and secret socks obs. How you 'doin? The long wait for the optimistically named mixed, dry recyclables (just what % is ever actually recycled and at what overall cost?) bin collection is over - cue wild crowd noises. Much as I feel Sainsbury's has become sub-par for its historical position in the grocery market, I have had two very good rump steaks from the local store lately. Since I don't generally like that cut that is to their credit - price was also keen . @gennepher thanks for the photo and video. I hope you can fit some time for yourself into that busy schedule. Do what you gotta do today everyone but with love for all concerned. Love your neighbour as yourself not instead of or more than. Reminds me, I want more tea (1.5 L of black Darjeeling until fast is over then .75 to 1.5 L Assam with almond milk) whether I actually need n litres of fluid a day or not my body definitely functions best when uberhydrated. Be good to yourself folks.
