Try testing in the morning before eating or drinking other than water. No food since the previous evening and you will get your fasting blood glucose which should be 6.0 ish or below.

Take care today @AnnbPretty disastrous afternoon. Expected to be collected about 3 pm but my friend arrived to collect me at 1 pm. She had been asked to work at the last minute and had to carry on until 3 so she came in her lunch break and deposited me at the venue with a request to put together an example "game/task?" for children to do (this was a family event for the young families of asylum seekers).
The task was to colour in 3 sheets and cut and glue them together as a model. One sheet was a wall with stained glass windows and floral decoration, one was a wall with a door to be cut in it, also with floral decorations, the third was a Persian style carpet. I don't like colouring-in at the best of times and this was very complicated. Not suitable, I thought, for the majority of the children expected. I spent a sad 90 or so minutes putting this darned model together before my friend came back to get the rest of the place ready.
Then, just as we started, I suddenly knew I was going to vomit so had to make as smart an exit as I could. I had decided just to take my 2 sticks and leave the wheelchair at home, so it was a very inelegant departure. Then I just sat, exhausted and with a headache for the rest of the afternoon until it was all over and my friend could bring me home again.
There wasn't even a cup of tea. Plenty of sugary "pop" for the children and mothers, but other than that only tepid tap water. Got home, totally unable to function and fell asleep in the kitchen chair. Dragged myself awake about an hour ago and had that cup of tea. BG is pretty high, but I don't care about that right now. Bed, I think, is the best idea, but will probably mean that I get up about 1 am.
Try doing all your eating within a 10 hour window so your overnight fast is 14 hours long!Try testing in the morning before eating or drinking other than water. No food since the previous evening and you will get your fasting blood glucose which should be 6.0 ish or below.

Hi Dunelm,Good morning everyone on another bright and sunny start here on The Gower. Swansea yesterday. All went well until a couple of hours in when my back and right hip decided that that was enough. Luckily there was a bus leaving in a few minutes which dropped us off in Mumbles village and we sat outside by the sea wall having a glass of wine and a couple of tramadols - what could possibly go wrong? Walked back to our digs after that, about 8 miles again in total. Rhosili today and a table booked at the Worms Head Hotel so hopefully an easier day. Art bit, moving along. Hope your day is kind to you. Must get some koffy on the go.

Looks very interesting but I don’t think a hike over to the cave is on the cardsHi Dunelm,
Interesting area and discoveries at Paviland on the Gower, the sea level must have been much lower then!

Beautiful colours and a smashing displayFbg 7.6
This wildlife Trail Camera video is less than one minute long.
It's of my Mr Magpie taking cat biscuits off the swing.
The small birds in my garden are quite comfortable with this Mr Magpie, and they don't go into alarm mode when he comes in the garden. In fact, some of the other birds can be very close to him when he's in the garden and the blackbird might be less than a metre away from him on the ground.
Yesterday, I was watching the small birds from my bed. Miss Fluffy was doing her usual fluffing up at feathers and just messing around among the willow leaves...
Suddenly the alarm calls began, almost too late. All the other small birds hid in the bushes, but Miss Fluffy did not...
There was no time for me with my agility to do anything at this point. So I just watched. Because I had my eye on Miss Fluffy, I knew where she was and I watched her change from a fluffy baby bird to a sleek adult bird and she blended in with the leaves, but she was still in full view and she did not move a muscle/feather.
The pair of magpies swept in, but the female magpie realised it was an abortive attempt, and she swerved away very quickly. The male magpie realised almost too late and got entangled a bit in those very tall bamboo canes I had to put out the other day with all the drying leaves on it.
If I had not known exactly where Miss Fluffy was I wouldn't have known she was there.
I am so glad I intervened the other day against that pair of marauding, magpies, intent on killing, even though I must've sounded like a demented mad woman. It had been Miss Fluffy's first few minutes out of the nest, and she had not had time to learn any survival skills, but she has now, and I think those baby birds can take care of themselves, as long as they listen to their parents.
Creative is the very tiny blue flowers of my Corn Salad. It is outside overwinter, and it gives me salad leaves all winter. I let it go to seed this time of year because it self seeds prolifically and it just takes care of itself. I also have some new corn salad leaves and I've planted the seeds about a month or so ago.
Last night, I put a small dish of cat biscuits outside the kitchen door in the hope that whatever was coming in my kitchen would just take that. And that was what happened last night. That didh and cat biscuits have completely gone. But the dish of cat biscuits in my kitchen has remained which is what I was hoping.
No time for a nap this morning, I have to get on with my day. Catch you later. Have your best kind of day.

Are you recently diagnosed as prediabetic? Your morning levels might be caused by dawn phenomenon. Don't panic. I believe this morning measurement is often the last to lower once you change to a low carb diet.8 mmol/l
Yesterday it was 7.9
I'm in a bit of panic mode because those are apparently diabetic levels. By no means I should diagnose myself but why is this? Consistently measuring 10 hours after my last meal.

Good to hear from you especially with news of progress. Despite your natural inclination my instinct is slow and steady should be your mantra. Listen carefully and honestly to both your body and those closest to you who have the deepest insights into how you are doing. As fallen beings we may have convinced ourselves we know so much but we don't really know ourselves in any meaningful way. Now Marjorie and your girls on the other hand .....Walked up the rough lane behind the house and did the nearly 0.5 mile up hill to the other road I was somewhat tired by the time I got back to our cottage.
Dryest it's been for sometime and the lack of rain continues but everywhere is an intense green and the hawthorn blossom on the large bushes looks amazing.
The high CO2 levels at over 400ppm are certainly making plants grow.
The furthest I have walked (two thirds of a mile) for ages, I feel I am improving gradually.

Are you testing before and two hours after meals to establish which foods are best for you? Your journey to better health has already begun.
