What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from another wonderfully sunny start here on The Gower. Yesterday was a day of coast, castles and climbing hills for ‘views’. Smashing day but with nearly 8 miles under the belt we were quite tired in the evening. Could have been the wine stops but I am going with the distance traveled and a lot of it up hill. Anyhow. Art bit - some more of the great indoors. Also a couple of snaps from yesterday. Have a wonderful day if you can, we are off to Swansea on charabanc but first, koffy.

Great Art interior @dunelm

And I love the photos!

Kalimera.

A 6.4 day, says Monsieur M'tre....
Unsure why he'd lie, so I'm taking his word it's accurate.

Mid six mayhem of late, anxiety of the holiday prep likely not helping.
T minus 1

Although I have completed all my tasks with just 2 left to do.

Madame however.....:bag:

Her & her girls laugh & joke about their last day of hols a that 'Panic Tan'....:hilarious:

Think we can safely say, after a few years obs, panic packing is one of her things as well ...

She'll be ready on time (aka: she'll take what she takes...and never really miss what was left behind.)
but oh the fun of stressing over it, hey..not to be missed ..so it never is . :hilarious:

Weather in Lesbos mixed, according to the almost hourly updates I'm getting & just as a heatwave is forecast for here.

I can't speak for Lauren ..
But despite all of the above .

I just DON'T CARE ..

I'm off on HOLIDAYS....
Whoop Whoop.

Gotta go, lots to do, yada yada yada.

Laters all.

Sights & sounds to feed the mind & soul.

Many more to come, I hope.
Enjoy.

Fox & Badgers & Cats
Midnight defends the Swing but then leaves them all to it...

He came back indoors and slept on my bed...more peaceful...

Creative is Fumitory in my back garden painted in Procreate.
Even Google ID agrees it is Fumitory. And tells me it is a herb.

Looks like a hot day today, already 18C, at 9am, but a nice cool sea breeze to go with it....

Little Miss Fluffy (young sparrow) has invented an innovative way to get at the fatballs, Dad sparrow simply uses the perch. Miss Fluffy hangs on to a slender willow branch, and flaps her wings as hard as she can towards the fatball feeder, thus bringing the branch with her. She manages one peck at the fatball, stops flapping her wings, the branch flings back with the baby sparrow going going head over heels...then she tries again and again...

Last night, yet again, despite me, setting the trail cameras in the kitchen, the invisible beast manages to get the container with the cat biscuits in it, and takes it all out unseen. No trace of the container outside, so I am assuming this invisible beast has some young in its den...
I even set the security light bulb in the kitchen. It's an attachment you put to the lightbulb, and if there is sound or movement, the light comes on. But even that did not trigger the trail cameras...
I didn't sleep well last night, so every so often, I went into the kitchen to see if I could see anything, and as far as I can ascertain the bowl of catfood disappears around 3 am in the morning. I know it's gone about this time before.
Next step is me sitting on guard in the kitchen, around 3 am....

I am also making the assumption that this invisible beast eats during the night, and before it goes back to its den in the morning, that is when it comes into the kitchen and takes the cat biscuits and the bowl.

I planted some spring onions outside the kitchen door few days ago, nand they have been dug up ever night since, despite the container being quite high up (fox?). The only safe containers outside the kitchen door are in hanging baskets. That's where my tomatoes are. So I'm going to have to turn over growing everything in hanging baskets this year.....

Merlin is eating Midnight's cat biscuits in my bedroom. Midnight is trying the death stare, and not succeeding...he's gone back to sleep on my lap.

Now I have to start doing something...but a cuppa and a nap first...

Gennepher's Baby Bird Day Care Nursery is in full swing, and despite me turning down every setting on my cochlear hearing processor, it is giving me a headache...

Have your best day.

Yep, weathers definitely good today.

Quick question.
Would many find it acceptable if their neighbours decided to Rev the heck out of their engine at this time of day... Everytime the sun hinted it might shine...?

Yes, I'm referencing the interminable noise battalions of leaf blowers make

Anyone able to give a solid reason why the noisy benefits*, out weigh a rake ?

Yours kindly
An Gree

It's just men with their extending toys...

Have you ever seen a woman with a leaf blower?

In case anyone missed it.

I was kindly put forward by someone, but due to recovery I've declined standing.

I do feel it's something I should try to do at some point, as passing back some of the good the forum & its members have given me
But not this time.

I haven't but I could so easily have nominated each one of you, all so full of the good qualities needed, each in your own inimitable way.

So anyone here considering it .
My votes a given.

Lots to do.
Just having my afternoon nap!

Yesterday I realised I had more bird's nests in my back garden than I had thought.

In my front garden nesting is at least one pair of blackbirds, and one pair of chaffinches.

In my back garden is the sparrows who produced that incredibly noisy Miss Fluffy and her little brother. Dad looks after Miss Fluffy, and Mum looks after Little Brother. And I thought that was it for this year. But last night I realised there was another pair of blackbirds, and the male was coming low out of the clematis and honeysuckle (where years ago I had made it cat proof with wire chain link for birds to nest, against my cat Lynx at the time). And this blackbird is getting food from the frog pond below their nest. And this morning there are another 3 fluffy baby sparrows are on a willow branch, just like a Chinese painting, with their parents....

This garden is 'Gennepher's Baby Bird Daycare'...

The nighttime Wildlife Cameras.
Cat Merlin's long night.
Also Fox & Badger
This is from a while ago when the swing looked more comfortable and I didn't need to tie everything to the swing to stop the badger pulling them off.

I am a bit busy at the moment this week, so my sd cards from the nighttime cameras are building up. I don't have time to download and edit today.

Creative is a Dandelion flower, painted in Procreate.
When I do my digital painting of the flowers in my garden, I have Google ID the flower from my painting. Sometimes it ID's the flowers, other times not. Google tells me this is a Pot Marigold. No it's not!

A cup of tea now, and do something useful.

All the cat biscuits in the kitchen were gone last night. And also the dish they were in was gone. Midnight was guarding the cat biscuits on the swing last night, and those cat biscuits and dishes were all present and correct apart from a a few mouthfuls....

The baby birds are quiet, they are having their afternoon nap....I might join them with another short nap.....

I don't know why dandelions are so despised. They are such bright and cheerful flowers - just like the one in your creation.

Odd sort of night. Went to bed at 11.30 having hung around all day feeling strange and sleeping. Kept to the big chair most of the day and did none of the things I'd promised myself to do. I'm not ill, just very tired and sore. Woke up again at 1 am with legs giving me "gype" whatever that is. Back to the kitchen and pain killers to the fore followed by a cup of warm milk to help me sleep. Back to bed just after 2 am. Slept until 8-ish but stayed put until nearly 9. Finally up, showered and dress about 10 (had to turn the heating up to get the shower room warm enough and had to take more pain killers). Weighed myself and found I'd put on ab out 4 lbs since the last time I weighed in (about 3 weeks ago). BG in the 8's to 12's. No idea which one to call FBG, so I'll just ignore that and carry on regardless.

A few cups of tea so far, but no food, but I'd better think about that soon so that I can bring the BG down a bit.

Morning all from a sunny L.A. The theme for the day here seems to be packing, holidays and sight seeing.. @dunelm those photos imply a good time is being had with plenty of exercise which would fit you like a glove as they - who? - say. You spoil us sir with both art and photos. @gennepher thanks for that creative. I did a double take on the name - reminded me of the beginning of The Mayor of Casterbridge (furmety) - quick google shows that is a very useful herb. @jjraak enjoy packing as a spectator sport then enjoy your holiday. No mow May will probably end early today at least for the front lawn since the (brown) green waste bin is collected tomorrow and next week is another story. At least it is no socks and "lawning" day here whatever else is thrown at me. How you 'doin?

Thanks @ianpspurs
You can even buy tablets with it in???

8 mmol/l

Yesterday it was 7.9

I'm in a bit of panic mode because those are apparently diabetic levels. By no means I should diagnose myself but why is this? Consistently measuring 10 hours after my last meal.
Try testing in the morning before eating or drinking other than water. No food since the previous evening and you will get your fasting blood glucose which should be 6.0 ish or below.
