What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Oh boy.
I had a nap after posting my fbs earlier.
Had a nightmare that I was in hospital and my bed was sinking in the muddy floor because it had flooded. The room was like quicksand. I managed to get out. Someone was serving food, lovely food, delicious food. But then the lights went out. Darkness.

So I woke up. I went to turn the light on. It was 6:45. A very grey day outside. The light didn’t come on. Oh no. Armageddon?

Went to electric mains switch. It was on. Went online on my phone for my area. No power cut reported. So got dressed. A quick wash in cold water. And was going out at 7:15 to ask a neighbour. But cat wanted feeding. Came in. Fed cat. Checked for power outages again. And now the fault has been reported. Maybe mid morning it will come back.

But I am hungry now. I have some lovely mince in the fridge to cook...but I cannot open fridge nor cook...no power.

I know I thought. Brilliant idea. I will go to Wetherspoons for my brekkie. Hang on but what is the post code for Wetherspoons? Cos last time we had a massive power outage for hours they were affected. As well as other cafes and food shops affected. Got their postcode. Checked. They are in the power outage too. Sigh.....

Where’s the nearest next Wetherspoons? Oh boy, this would be a 20 mile round trip...

Boo hoo, and I am hungry. I am never hungry. I never feel hungry. But I blinking do this morning. And my tummy is making funny vibrating noise...

What tins do I have in the cupboard........

Morning All. Back in da hood with 6.3. Slept like a baby last night. Still got sore tum but it will improve I’m sure. @gennepher I hate a power cut and we get our fair share in the winter. Hope you have some emergency chocolate. @Cumberland thanks for posting pics little Wispa looks gorgeous. @Bildad shame about the weather but well done for your resilience. It has struck me this morning not for the first time how we are divided into early coffee or tea drinkers. Tea for me always though I do have a coffee as a treat sometimes.
Have a good Thursday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Good morning everyone from a drizzly and breezy dark and dangerous north.
The wonder wheel of all the offspring at once, incidents of pirate raids and the discovery of the secrets of operating the kitchen tap when standing on a set of steps rolled out a Jolly Roger of a 5.4 this morning.

Last night it was discovered that a bottle of Allt-A-Bhainne (just enough peat to start a fire) was lurking in the back of a cupboard. Because it had already been opened and because of potentially exceeding its nominal use by date - sampling of the sweetly peated contents had to take place. Several samples were taken and after much discussion it was decided that the contents were in fact perfectly OK -but by then, it was too late.

Have a great day if you can, I think that TT’s will be taking us to the indoor soft play area this morning and then it will be painting in the conservatory after lunch.

Gosh that sounds interesting a bit of a trip down memory lane for you! Will be interesting to hear how you find it...so hope there are more green spaces or at least views of trees and birds. My MIL used to love her regular shopping trips on the bus and made a lovely set of “bus” friends with lovely chats. Do report back when you can.

Thanks, @PenguinMum , I will. It looks as if it will be tomorrow; check had not been deposited as of 4:00 this morning -- usually goes in on the 3rd but sometimes if the 3rd is on a weekend or a holiday it will go in on the 1st.

How are you doing this morning?

Yes do I will be interested to know.
Thanks for asking I had a good nights sleep but still have tum issues (no pain like yesterday TG) and am just hoping I will be able to get on a plane tomorrow. Light eating today again.

5.6 for me. Hope everyone’s morning is going well but @gennepher what a blow to have a power cut the day you’re feeling hungry. Hope it is soon on again or you can find something in your stores to nibble on.
&Cumberland Wispa is gorgeous, I can imagine how much she’s cheered you up.
@PenguinMum I’m so glad to see you had a good night and you’re feeling ok now. I guess you’ll never really know what caused such a bad reaction.
@SaskiaKC that neighbourhood that you knew so well is definitely worth revisiting. I like to trust gut feelings and it sounds like you have a good one.
&Bildad I thought you deserved a medal before you went, I think you deserve 10 now!
@True Blue not a bad post holiday fbg and well done for getting straight back on the lchf wagon. Lots of good stuff there. I agree with the Asda coffee, surprisingly good.

@jjraak sorry things have been getting on top of you lately (hug) but so good that you recognised it and asked for help. Everyone is spinning so many plates these days its not unusual to feel overwhelmed and I think counselling could help a lot. We have experience of this in my immediate family and as they say “its good to talk”. Good news about the bike and I hope you will soon be out on the open road with the wind running through your hair (well under your helmet obs). Take care young JJ.

Hugs jjraak x

Thanks so much. I have a very bloated tum today compared to yesterday but just need to be able to get on that plane tomorrow. Hope you are having nice time with the grandaughters and little Dennis.

Afternoon
The thread nutter here, speaking as one and or one's ( dependant on reality and time zone ) who has had counselling on 2 occasions, first time with 2 shrinks and the 2nd time with 1 shrink. You have nothing to worry about.

The 1st time the shrinks had to have counselling after 1 had finished with them, on the 2nd occasion, well that was a waste of time, the counselor was so politically correct, well to save time he needed counseling after I finished with him and he agreed to cancel all further appointments.
But and it's a big BUT you can only learn from these sessions. On my journey through life I have learnt so many people have received help and advice from this type of thing. Message me if you want. Even if we only talk motorbikes.

Alf
