What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hospitals don't make communication easy do they @jjraak
I had problems recently trying to postpone an appointment, it was impossible. Finally I wrote a letter, but you don't have time for that.
I got my new appointment eventually, but half way through 2024....sigh...

Some extra e-hugs for you x
Best I can offer...

Just back from getting my legs rebandaged. Temperature here is 6C and it is a bit breezy and a bit wet. Raining, but fine light rain. Just feels cold.
BG at 2.30 am was 7.4. Tea then breakfast (low carb) and now it's 5.8. Eating veg yesterday was a painful experience so I'm going to leave out the veg altogether today.
Dishwasher broke down again during the night so I had to empty it and wash everything in the sink. Neil thinks there is a leak at one end of a pipe (the difficult to access end, of course) so he'll have another look at it - hopefully today. His plumbing skills are in demand today - Alistair is trying to plumb in a new bath and has hit a snag with the hot water supply so he needs Neil to go and try to sort it out. Handy for everyone, Neil being so useful, not so handy for Neil, I suspect, although he is always willing to help anyone who needs it.

I was concentrated on another thing going on when a spider seemed to be flying backwards through the air upside down, about 10 feet in the sky, nowhere near anything at all, good job son3 was standing by and witnessed the event. Never seen that before!

6.9 pre counselling.

A beautiful morning and warmer than the forecasts. A cloudless sky, all blue!
Might walk or bus? Don't know yet!

Chores, shopping and exercise done.

Anyway, might rob a bank on the way back, if I can find one, cos, I won't be sent to the nick! Cos they are not only full but overcrowded!
Report back later! With loadsamoney!

Stunning, Wow!

In the Merseyside area now, it is not the actual hospital or department that organised appointments it is a designated appointment department that handles the appointments. So you don't phone the hospital or if you did, you would get transferred to the appointments dept.

Good afternoon all. Drip trip was an hour earlier today so prep needed briging forward. Mainly a good fluid intake so veins are easy to access but not too much as walking around with all the tech and line attached would be a mission. @gennepher and @dunelm once again you have both treated us to a feast for our eyes and imagination with your art so thanks. @jjraak good to see you but hug for the appointment issues and realisation that life has changed. One or two of us here, or maybe just me, have real difficulty living with this fact of life. @Annb hug for the dishwasher and I hope Neil can fix it. @SlimLizzy glad you enjoyed the Frost poem. A wet and dull day here so tea and CWC seems like a plan for me. Have a great rest of the day.

Thank you @ianpspurs and yes, not 19 any more.

Thank you Ian. I have now resigned to myself that I need an afternoon nap every day now......it feels like not much is done in a day....I have had to accept a much slower pace. Whatever all our difficulties, it is not easy to accept life has changed, but we do need to embrace it. Sometimes I find it hard and demoralising, as many of us do, but a little sunshine helps whether is be a cheery person or the actual sun itself. Today for me was actual sunshine, and no machinery noises, and I had a restful lazy day today.
I hope the rest of your day goes well Ian.

Young spiders use their spun threads to travel miles in air streams like paragliders.
There are not inhibited by not having wings but there has to be the right conditions.

Marjorie has been exhausted for some time and unwell this last week, the op seemed to have made her worse. Helen has been very helpful this week but she goes home tomorrow. We had to cancel the COVID jab today, but I wasn't keen anyway.
Helen took Marjorie to the shops this am and stopped her getting vertigo.

She sent off an e-consult form to the surgery for her yesterday, they are not doing tests at the surgery and Marjorie had a thyroid adenoma and half the thyroid removed when she was young and it should be checked properly each year.
I think my illnesses wear her out and she worries about me.
Life gets harder but there is no real alternative to old age.
Best wishes to you all
Derek

If you could note every aspect of your late life that has happened to you and your dearest.
The impact of the effects of that will impress the changes in how you do things and the approach to either solve or cope with the circumstances.

or the machismo answer, is,..... it is what it is, get on with it!

I get it mate!

You both do what you can. Look after each other.
