What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

MrSlim had a retinal repair operation which was completely successful. I wish you the same result.
While he was waiting for the op he was told that any sudden deterioration in his vision should be regarded as an emergency. Have you been given the same advice?

I pray it's so, @SlimLizzy .

Wonderful to hear Mr slims went so well.

Yes, any sudden drop or issues with vision, straight back to Western eye hospital A&E as an emergency, was the advice.

Thank you for your post.

Look after yourself @jjraak don't put your body through any physical knocks that can be avoided.
We remember you and your care for others in prayer.

I went out the back door yesterday am and 8 Whooper Swans came over calling going south in line quite low.
Then we saw a flock of Pink footed Geese of about 1000 birds looking for fields to feed in the area.
Both of these species are here because they are Icelandic breeders.

Pouring with rain here...

Wildlife nighttime video.
Boy Badger tugs cushion off garden swing
28secs

Creative...
Birds again after Lin Fengmian...
But I wasn't well with this cold yesterday and felt I was doing them under duress so to speak. Nothing pleased me yesterday. I tried to do some stuff, but wasn't up to it...

That menace of a Boy Badger. He thinks life is tugging cloths and cushions off the swing. He got this obsession from his father, Pa Badger. This Boy Badger is not displaying appropriate behaviour. Pa Badger should be teaching him how to get a mate and stuff to propagate the badger species. And to feed himself. Boy Badger is spending all night 'attacking' the garden swing coverings. He used to be digging up worms in my garden all night, but he is not feeding himself enough for winter with this swing obsession.

That swing is for me and the cats to sit on...
I need to come up with another plan, or redesign of the swing...

Back to sleep. I need a nap...
And a cuppa tea.

Have your best day...

Good morning everyone from a quiet and overcast start to International Bin day here in the dark and dangerous north. Soon though, the joy of the bin cavalcade with the orange dressed bin jugglers will break through the gloom, bringing smiles to all and sundry. A fairly uneventful journey home, which is good, with transport timetables working to large margins but small enough that connections were made. Art bit, quick sketch made on the train coming home. Hope your day contains several smiles. First job of the day is to break in a new cafetière . Don’t mention the whereabouts of the old, ancient, superbly patinated and deliciously seasoned one that I had spent years and years getting to know and was the first friend that greeted me with warmth and joy each morning.

Duress or no, a smashing piece of art.

Good that your journey home passed relatively smoothly @dunelm

And for your art bit, I love the apparent simplicity of this...

Morning all from Lower Soggy Bottom on Drip Trip day provided all the pumping engines, deep drains and sluices hereabouts still function. @lindisfel good news on having a good sleep and seeing all those birds must have been a tonic for you. @gennepher hug for the effects of that cold on your mood but thanks for sharing the splendid creative. @dunelm good news on the uneventful journey home. Thank you for sharing the art. The hug is for the demise of the cherished cafetiere - I'm assuming the more grand version was a typo not a new business venture. Whether one is a Paloma or Cass kinda person take the advice of these dudes and dudettes - lyrics
