What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good day everyone on a splendidly quiet and sunny start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 this am and the word on the street is inyeon - It means providence or fate in Korean. But it’s specifically about relationships between people. I shall start using it, if I remember. So much to remember; birthdays is always a big one, especially the one for Mrs Miggins. Also where the real ‘safe place’ actually is as it’s where the date for our wedding anniversary is stored. Walked into town this morning and did manage to buy a couple of the new plastic free poppies to see what all the fuss is about. Probably just part of the latest craze of whining about every little thing. Art bit - oh no, another tree! Hope your day is going well. I have already had my two doses of koffy.

What an interesting name you have, I guess you are not a Shuhite being the only other Bildad I know of.
@lindisfel I am not very tall but slightly taller than Shuhite. I like the story of Job and thought it was a good name. I often use obscure Bible names as either user names or passwords. There are not many people who have any clue who Bildad was

Relentless rain here, never goes away.
Had to pick up some Amazon parcels from the post office. Lots of tiny little things (not food, but stuff to help my toes separate, ordered a few different ones) I cannot get at the local shops. Will try them later when I figure out how to get my feet&toes near enough my hands and fingers...

I was cold by the time I got back home, did a bit of shopping first. I had a warm coat on, maybe I need to dress like an Eskimo. I know my car has a heated front seats, so I tried diving into settings while I was out, but couldn't obviously see something. Anyway, just googled now, and I was looking in the right place, but it was complicated to set up (because there were additional settings like airflow, humidity and something else I wouldn't have a clue about) and not obvious, in order to set up the heated seats. What is wrong with a straight forward on/off switch? So that is my next project to figure out. I haven't warmed up from being out earlier...

Thank you for sharing your art. As with Genn's owls, since your trees and landscape are varied and such skilful work carry on regardless. (is there a Sid James font?) @gennepher hug for the need to fartknarckle around with heated car seat but winner for sharing the creative. I hope you get and stay warm.

I have used it often and never had an issue.
Mrs L has an appointment booked for two weeks but will get a phone call this week when the go she sees, who did the case kicking to the council and housing is available. Mrs L trusts this doctor, so do i!

6.4 this day that the boss has not decided on yet! But it is facup day and cricket day.
It actually stopped raining during the early hours, but as soon as I stepped outside to go the shop, it hasn't stopped, I'm getting worried (not like me that!!!) that my ark hasn't arrived yet!
No! but I am concerned about my garden being close to a swamp. There is standing water with the standing gulls and pigeons, amongst the rest, on the footie pitches. No footie on them this week! Hopefully it won't impact on the plants.
Still getting the odd drop through the top of the bay. Sleeping arrangements will have to be rearranged from next week.
Chores done, #7 is at gymnastics, #4 playing basketball, #2 game off. Cooking that curry that has been sitting in the fridge. Is it called steeping?

Things to do.

No plastic free poppies here...I just popped money in the box...

This is a very interesting painting @dunelm

Now "Find My Past" has just told me that I will have to update my Browser if I want to continue accessing their website from January. Unfortunately Neil reckons that my laptop is too old-fashioned and won't take the upgrade. He'll try to separate out Firefox from the Ubuntu software that we use and see if we can make it work.

It may not be raining cats and dogs here, as it is in other places, but as far as technology is concerned, it's pouring at the moment!

Thanks Ian

Would a different browser work with Ubuntu @Annb and would Find My Past work with that browser?
I don't know enough about this stuff.

I do use Opera browser. Would that have compatibility issues with Ubuntu.
I used Opera when I had a laptop, and I had a poor internet connection. It connected me up when Firefox would not.
I still have Opera on my iPad.

I do also use PuffinPro browser because it is Flash enabled, and because I have a lot of penfriends, and get links sent which will not play or open up on Firefox or Safari because of their (outdated?) internet. For example I was sent a link to a virtual tour of the Russian ship "Mir", but Safari and Chrome couldn't play it. But Puffin Pro could because it was flash enabled. I have been aboard the "Mir" with J. And my Russian penfriend had sailed on the Mir, so it is great to have this virtual tour.

None of what I am saying here is probably any use to you, but I was wondering if a different browser would let you continue with FindMyPast....

interesting about Mr K and the crunchie
It was interesting that Mr K just didn't enjoy the crunchie. He has cut sugar and carbs, but not to the extent that I have - so I don't know why he didn't enjoy it.
I got the impression that he was quite disappointed with his reaction as he was so looking forward to eating it.

That is a nightmare @Annb

I don't think you will get 3040 Mbps on copper wires. It would be 30 Mbps if you were lucky.
That figure would mean you have 3 g/ s internet speed on copper wires.

I get 21 Mbps on copper wires. And one can play video and zoom no problem, but it's crying for the moon asking for 100 Mbps when the family come up from York and all of them want to use the internet.

Been a nice sunny day here in N. West Cumbria.

You can have virtual windows on Ubuntu where you can play things from different platforms. There is also plenty of open source programs if you can get your head round them.
Linux is staggeringly fast when browsing the internet.

Oh your car sounds so complex. I have a little button at the outside edge of each seat - press and the seat heats up. Smashing night owls - beautiful plumage

Thank you @ianpspurs
